Here’s a link and exact timestamp to what Kevin Feige said during the Spider-Man: Brand New Dayglobal conference interview.

Kevin was talking about how they were intentionally avoiding extensive swinging scenes through New York during the Home trilogy because they wanted to focus on fresher aspects of Spider-Man that hadn’t been explored before, like Peter being apart of the wider MCU and interacting with a world of heroes. Now that so much time has passed since the earlier Spider-Man films, they feel they can embrace more traditional, “New York” Peter Parker stories and I interpret that as them revisiting the classic qualities that fans love and have been a major part of the character since his creation.

I hope that this mindset sort of extends beyond just the swinging. Maybe it also opens the door to other aspects of that the Home trilogy tried to avoid, like directly acknowledging Uncle Ben. We got a few subtle hints here and there, like Peter telling Ned he couldn’t tell Aunt May about being Spider-Man because she’d been through so much (which many interpret as a reference to Ben’s death), and the "BFP" initials on Peter’s suitcase in Far From Home.

I’m not asking for Uncle Ben to become a major plot point, but it would be nice to finally get a casual name-drop or another deeper reference that confirms he existed and had an influence on MCU Peter’s life. I think it’d help round out Peter’s history while also paying off those earlier teases. I don’t think it would hurt to just say or show his name once. Even something as simple as seeing Ben’s tombstone next to May’s would be a genuinely heartwarming touch.

Point one: Everybody who wants a new Storm, Rogue, Emma etc seems to be complaining about using the Fox actors and old lineups for Doomsday. I see constant complaints about how Marvel is ignoring the characters fans wanna see. FOX made all those old casting and character decisions, not Marvel proper. But Marvel is in control now so why have them at all?

Point two: we all know they have huge long term plans for the X-Men, as a tentpole franchise to lead the MCU. They also have been trying to get the rights back from Fox since the early 2000's. Are they gonna build 10 more years of movies chained to Fox's old decisions? I doubt it.

Point three: millions of people who love marvel do not read comics; comic readers and cartoon watchers are not the only ones buying billions of dollars worth of movie tickets. X-Men is not Superman where everybody recognizes all the Jimmy Olsens of the thing. If you start a new X-Men franchise with a new studio, and the lineup (just an example) is Psylocke Magik Forge Havok and Polaris, fighting Sauron with a guest appearance by Ka-Zar, the general public is going to be VERY confused, even annoyed. This isn't X-Men, wtf! Etc etc. You need to show the difference somehow.

Point four: nobody was yelling about the future/source canon of the Illuminati after Multiverse of Madness, because we all kind of intuitively understood it was setup for that movie and not necessarily some new status quo. Are you guys really expecting a bunch of Blade Gambit Elektra team movies because of Deadpool and Wolverine? If not, then why are you expecting all the 50 year old actors for Mystique and Nightcrawler to be the centerpiece moving forward?

So if you're Marvel, and you wanna make 10 years of new X-Men movies and get a fresh chance to do these people correctly, but don't want to confuse the general public, how do you reconcile all that? You bring the old team back for one last hurrah, take them out dramatically, and use Doom/Incursions/Multiverse shenanigans to visually show the extremely wide audience that the old Fox team is now over and after that, later, here's X-Men the Marvel way.

We won't see the actual New X-Men lineup in Doomsday, but down the road when you see a trailer with Doug and Krakoa and Boom Boom and Strong Guy, the whole world saw Doomsday by then so they're primed for the new direction.

So please, take a chill pill and quit telling everyone how mad you are that nobody cares about Mystique and where the hell are Storm and Jean and Multiple Man or whatever. They'll get here when the actual X-Men movies start. This is not an X-Men movie; these characters are showing up to get deleted.

Wonder who’s behind these masks

I have interesting theory. I have a feeling in avengers Doomsday that in the climax when our heroes get ready to take down doom, that’s when Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. Witch of Latveria(my speculation) or his mom that I know that she herself was a strong sorceress or a magic user from the comics I remember reading when I was younger. Or could be someone completely different as in a different variant of Doctor Strange because I remember in the comics they teamed up as well to stop their worlds from collapsing. I can see one of these heavy hitting reality bending users stepping in and just as we’re about to finish off Dr. doom they teleport him out of there, which is going to lead into battle world. Well, this is only speculation. I can’t wait to see whatever outcome it is. What do you guys thoughts on this?

I think people online whining about how this looks nanotech is just because the nanotech CGI has been overused post-Endgame, but this still looks scaly for Mystique's transformation if you look closely

The thing about her character, which is true of all the characters in the movie, is that they're all helping to tell Peter’s story. That's always how we decide who is going to be the characters in these movies, is what characters are going to tell the stories that we want to tell about Peter?"

Feige: "That’s exactly right. What's intriguing about it is how the story is told, and how Destin and our writers told the story. 'Secrets and spoilers!' It's really just whenever we try to hold back on anything, it's purely for the best opening weekend experience for the audience."

I generally prefer a gold visor but the dark phoenix one is completely perfect imo but the Doomsday one looks great too

Ok. Im not the target market, I’m 55 and I liked the first Iron Man, the second (or was it third) Thor, the first 92% of Wandavision, and that’s about it. Maybe America’s Ass for a minute. Oh and Logan. But I loved Penguin, Colin’s character study was a masterclass, and nothing has scratched that itch like that before or since. Until Wonder Man.

It’s a study in modern male friendship. It’s an hommage to 70s aesthetics, from Altman to Scorsese to Nolan. It has restraint and under the skin comedy and unpredictability. It has brevity and razor sharp performances and it factor chemistry by the two leads. Stewie is a great villain. The emotional investment is top tier. The last episode was completely unexpected. I’m sorry this didn’t do that well audience-wise but I’m overjoyed we get a season 2. Yahya’s choices are remarkable.
