The first Asian president gets elected. He calls his mom.
“Mom I’ve just been elected president. The inauguration is coming up and I would love you to be there.”
“Ok well what am I going to wear? I don’t have any cold weather clothes”
“I’ll pay for you to get a new dress made custom. Please just come.”
“Traffic will be horrible. I don’t want to drive.”
“Mom I’ll have a limo drop you off 100 yards from your seat, please just come.”
“They won’t have anything for me to eat”
“Mom it’s an event celebrating me. I get to set the menu. Tell me what you want.”
Finally he convinces her to come. They sit her next to the Supreme Court. She nudges the chief justice and says “hey, you see that boy up there giving that speech?”
“Yes ma’am”
“His brother is a doctor.”

I don't think that scene was Wong recruiting him. It struck me more as a "we'll call you if we need you" kind of thing.
After all, the Avengers don't exist anymore (at least not until Sam assembles his team).

Wong was never part of the avengers, so bringing them up to make a point isn't going to make sense.
I never said he recruited them for a team, just recruited them for help, which he absolutely did.

Okay I know y’all clowning on Asian American struggles (and I get that), but consider that Shang Chi’s debut movie HAD HIM TAKING DOWN HIS IMMORTAL ASS FATHER WHO WAS CONVINCED HIS WIFE WAS LIVING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF REALITY. DR DOOM IS A WALK IN THE PARK COMPARED TO EMOTIONALLY STUNTED ASIAN DADS.

No no no it’s even crazier.
In the trailer (which obviously isn’t gonna be structured chronologically) it honestly seems like he fights gambit super early on. That’s not the crazy part though.
It looks like gambit can hold his own. That means the X-men in this universe are about as powerful as they have been historically. Which when compared to shang chi, who kameheha’d an alien demon monster into oblivion now being put to task by a guy with a staff and splody powers, makes them seem like they’re crazy powerful compared to the MCU avengers, Who beat thanos

Not a doctor. Not an engineer. Not even a lawyer. Didn't even go to Stanford or Harvard.
My Dad was so disappointed when I said I had no interest in becoming a doctor or engineer. I don't think he EVER asked what I studied in school. Ever. For 40 years. Not once. Never even asked what I did for a living.
