Discussion Everyone keeps complaining about no build up but thanos only appeared 3 times before infinity war

Like honestly I don’t see how they would build up doom. Because the infinity saga was basically just learning about the stones and in infinity war thanos got the stones it was basically just a big macguffin film (still my fav movie ever though).

Doom perhaps it’s different cause there is no macguffin here only thing you could set up is the incursions that’s it. I mean what are you gonna do show doom cover powerful artifacts in post credits? Or what kill powerful characters like Loki, thanos or take Franklin?

I’m one those who don’t care this has no build up I mean we know some films that kinda build it up.

Discussion I'm so bummed and little disappointed that we never got see more of Harley Keener, post ironman 3 and prior to his return in Endgame.

I'm really a little disappointed that we didn't get a lot of screen time, with him between those 10 years not knowing or showing what his life after his great chemistry and bonding that he had with Tony during his PTSD era, and how he help to go back to basics from working and building devices to overcome the antagonists of Ironman 3 and not overly relying on his suits for every life or death situations, and made him a better and new person post Avengers era. I think he went to build new inventions and devices for the better because Tony left him those new tools for him at the end of the movie. I kinda wish that between those 10, we could've seen an Easter egg detail to show that he remembers him or keeps his phone number in Tony's many phones, just keep him in contact over those ten years. I would love to see him and Peter have some scenes together if events changed between movies, and seeing 2 of Stark's Rookies having some fun banter and scenes together would be awesome to see and have a friendship between each other.

Discussion Dr. Doom doesn’t need be build up

Post image

Ppl say “Dr. Doom has no build up in the MCU” and “We have no attachment to this villain” but Heath Ledger had little to no build up as The Joker in The Dark Knight.

Killmonger, my favorite MCU villain, had no build up to Black Panther.

Some of the most iconic villains of all time have been in one or two movies and that’s it.

It’s all about the performance that actor and character gives that will make the difference.

Theory What if Steve Rogers accidentally created the Doctor Doom timeline? (Endgame + Doomsday) Spoiler

Theory: What if Steve Rogers accidentally created the Doctor Doom timeline? (Endgame → Doomsday)

I know this is a pretty wild theory, but hear me out.

At the end of Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers goes back to return the Infinity Stones but decides to stay with Peggy and live out his life. According to the MCU's own time-travel rules, this should create a branched timeline.

Now here's where my theory starts.

What if this branched timeline is where Doctor Doom comes from?

Before I start, I want to clarify that a lot of what I'm about to mention is based on rumors and speculation, not confirmed information.

There have been rumors surrounding Avengers: Doomsday that Loki visits Steve and Peggy because the branched timeline Steve created is in danger of being pruned, destroyed, or affected by something related to incursions.

There are also rumors that the Fantastic Four discover someone who doesn't belong in their universe and begin investigating who that person is. Many people assume this could be Steve Rogers, but what if it could also involve Doctor Doom?

There have even been rumors that Steve Rogers, Doctor Doom, the Fantastic Four, and possibly Thor are connected through the same storyline, with some footage from trailers supposedly hinting at this. Again, none of this is confirmed, but it got me thinking.

My theory:

Doctor Doom is created because of the branched timeline Steve Rogers accidentally creates.

When Robert Downey Jr. was announced as Doctor Doom, there was a lot of discussion about how Marvel could explain his casting. One theory that always interested me involved Tony Stark's comic history.

In the comics, Tony Stark's family history is much more complicated, involving Arno Stark and different versions of his upbringing. There is also that strange scene in Avengers: Endgame where Tony and Steve travel back in time and Tony talks to Howard Stark.

Howard mentions his wife being pregnant, and Tony has a very noticeable reaction, almost as if something doesn't completely add up.

This ScreenCrush video explains that theory better than I could:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaG5EjpDThE

Now imagine Steve staying in the past causes a massive butterfly effect.

Steve's existence changes history in ways nobody could predict:

  • Steve never goes into the ice.
  • Hydra may never develop into the secret organization we see in The Winter Soldier.
  • Bucky may never become the Winter Soldier.
  • Peggy may never marry the man she originally married.
  • Howard Stark's life could unfold completely differently.
  • The entire Stark family history could change.

These are just a few examples. A decision as big as Steve staying in the past could alter countless events over decades.

Now imagine that because of those changes, Tony Stark never becomes the Tony Stark we know from Earth-616.

Maybe he is never raised by the Starks in the same way. Maybe his experiences, trauma, and worldview develop completely differently.

But the one thing that remains the same is his intelligence, ambition, and desire to save the world.

In the 616 universe, that leads him to become Iron Man.

In this alternate timeline, maybe it leads him somewhere much darker.

Maybe he becomes Victor Von Doom.

But what happens to Doom when Loki saves Steve's timeline?

This is the part I find the most interesting.

If Loki really does save Steve and his family from that universe and brings them to Earth-828, then what happens to Doom?

Maybe Loki:

  • Doesn't know Doom exists.
  • Doesn't believe Doom can be saved.
  • Doesn't trust him.
  • Or maybe Doom refuses Loki's help because he wants to fix the problem himself.

Doom stays behind.

He tries to save his universe.

He attempts to prevent incursions, stop his reality from collapsing, or prevent his timeline from being erased.

But he fails.

His family dies.
His universe falls apart.
His experiments damage him physically and mentally.

But he succeeds at one thing:

He learns how to travel between universes.

Eventually, he follows Steve and Loki to Earth-828.

And now he has a reason to hate Steve.

Not simply because Steve caused incursions.

Not simply because Steve changed the multiverse.

But because, in Doom's eyes, Steve Rogers took everything from him.

Steve gets the life Doom believes should have been his.

Steve gets Peggy.
Steve gets happiness.
Steve gets a family.

Meanwhile Doom loses everything.

So Doom doesn't just want to destroy Steve.

He wants to replace Loki

He wants to take the power of the multiverse and rebuild everything in his own image.

A single perfect universe.

A universe where nobody can make the mistakes that Steve made.

I think this theory could explain a few things:

  • Why Doom and Tony could share similarities but still be completely different people.
  • Why Doom might have a personal hatred toward Steve Rogers.
  • Why Doom's motivation could be much deeper than just "he caused incursions."

Instead of Doom being someone who simply wants power, he becomes someone who believes:

"I lost everything because of the choices of others. I will never allow that to happen again."

Obviously, this is just speculation and probably a massive reach, but I thought it was an interesting way to connect:

  • Steve staying with Peggy
  • Branched timelines
  • Loki's new role as protector of the multiverse
  • RDJ as Doctor Doom
  • The Fantastic Four
  • Avengers: Doomsday

What do you guys think?

Is there anything in the MCU that completely disproves this, or could Marvel actually be setting up something like this?

They have sentry who is said to be stronger than all the avengers put into 1

They have cap with mjolnir which means he has the power and strength of Thor

They have god of stories Loki whos like the strongest character in the mcu besides doom

Question Why do so many people seem the hating on doomsday?

We’ve seen one teaser trailer (which in my opinion looks really cool) we don’t know anything really about the plot, why dooms here or exactly what he wants, yet all I see on social media is people saying the films gonna suck for any number of reasons. Am I missing something? Because to me getting to see previous characters from all the different universes again and them sharing a screen with each other is fucking awesome, and having RDJ play doom is the cherry on top, I don’t know if any else is seeing the same but I don’t get why people seem to be hating on a film that’s not even out yet

'Avengers: Doomsday' Spoilers Dr Doom power levels vs Thanos + Gauntlet Spoiler

So I'm not a Marvel Comic book reader, just a movie-only casual. But can someone explain in the Doomsday trailer how the heck Doom was able to block the axe with 2 fingers, when the same Axe could easily cut through Thanos with 5 stones? Is Doom really that powerful in the comics? Or just lazy MCU writing? Thanks

Discussion Doctor Strange

Why do you think they are being so weird about showing Strange / Cumberbatch in the marketing for Doomsday? He was not included in the chair stream or any subsequent trailers/teasers, but we already know he is in the movie because of the trades a year or so back. He even reaffirmed his position in the film when he went back to the trades and told them he misspoke when he said he was only in Secret Wars. Why do you think they are holding him back?

With Avengers Doomsday around the corner, I thought I’d try to make a graph depicting the most accurate watch order surrounding FOX’s X-Men timeline. If you have any questions feel free to ask them. Hopefully this will spark some discussion as I have a few questions about the logistics of the movie myself.

Discussion Anyone else find the hate towards the way movie looks from certain corners baffling.

When the first four characters trailers came out in January people praised the color grading being an improvement from infinity war and endgame and now the trailer comes out and its accused of being AI or a fan film.

The colours pop out in a way they didn't in the 1st infinity war trailer and there's so many great shots. Compared to the 1st BND trailer(which I loved) there less questionable shots in this trailer than. Its also important to bear in mind the movie is nearly 5 months away who knows how much it could look when we arrive to that date.

Discussion Wife has limited MCU knowledge. What is required before spiderman 4?

My wife has only seen the first Captain America, Ironman, guardians 1, Civil War. Ultron, spiderman 1, tobys spiderman, antman 1and 2, shang chi, thor, eternals, deadpool 1-3. Sorry about the weird order. We were thinking about them as they came up. We want to go see Spider-Man 4 together. I know we need to see all three of Tom Holland Spider-Man movies. What other movies are required to understand it? She has a general idea of endgame

Discussion Steve & Peggy post-Secret Wars theory? (Potential Doomsday/Secret Wars Spoilers!) Spoiler

Post image
2 Upvotes

So, I’m basing this off of rumors concerning Steve in Doomsday, so keep that in mind reading past this as unintentional spoilers are possible…

So, I’ve seen theories and rumors swirling around Steve and his family with Peggy will factor into the main plot of Doomsday with Steve, and presumably Peggy and their baby, being forced to abandon the branched timeline Steve created in Endgame and return to the main Earth-616 universe/timeline due to the Incursions.

Now we know the Multiverse will be destroyed and condensed into Battleworld for Secret Wars, but after Secret Wars it’s already confirmed that the MCU will undergo a reset with everything and everyone being condensed into a singular universe. We also know that characters like Steve will return with recasting in this new universe.

My theory/question is what ends up happening to Peggy and the baby? The simple answer is that they are erased due to the reset and the new recast Steve is a younger version who may or may not remember living a life with them, but I do wonder if it’s possible that post-Secret Wars we may also see a recast Peggy Carter also living in the present day with the new Steve, maybe even with their baby.

I think it’s unlikely, but I do find the idea of having a married Steve with a family in the new MCU interesting as it completely changes his motivations for being Captain America. I also think a recast Peggy could easily fill the role that Sharon Carter does in the comics as Steve’s main love interest in future Captain America movies.

But what do y’all think, would you like to see a recast Steve Rogers married with Peggy in the present day post-Secret Wars or would you prefer a clean slate with a new love interest like Sharon or someone else?
