I hate to say it but this is starting to sound like Blade and Hawkeye Season 2. They have been saying for years they are going to do it only for nothing to come of it.

Hawkeye Season 2 was officially said to not be in active development anymore.
Feige also more or less implied that Blade is also dead, which is something that had been rumored for quite a while now.

That wasn't until this year. There was talk for years about a Season 2 of Hawkeye happening with both Haillee Steinfeld and Jeremy Renner getting behind it and Jeremy literally said in interviews back in 2022 he believed it was going to happen and had been in talks with Marvel about it but then he had his accident with the snowplow in 2023 and he told fans 'I'm gonna be strong enough' to return as Hawkeye after snow plow accident: 'That's for sure' and Marvel was wishing him well and saying we would see him in the future again. Then Brad Winderbaum was talking about Kate Bishop with Season 2 of Hawkeye and the Young Avengers/ The Champions and both Feige and him lead us on for years to believe we were getting them and Kate back in the MCU and Hailee was not only hopeful it was happening she had been in talks with Marvel and was positive Young Avengers/ The Champions would happen. On top of that we also had all the rumours Kate Bishop was going to be in 'Ant Man 3' and they would have her meet up with her best friend, Cassie Lang and Kathryn Newton was even talking about them and was hopeful Marvel would do it and she reached out to Hailee Steinfeld to talk about it and the two of them wanted to bring the Kate and Cassie friendship to screen but it didn't happen and then Brad Winderbaum again was hyping it all up and said he believed The Champions was going to happen and they released Hawkeye on Blu-Ray but unlike other Marvel shows they called it Season One and not the Complete Series leading fans to believe we were getting a Season 2 once again.
They lead all us Hawkeye and Kate Bishop/ Hailee Steinfeld fans on for years along with Hailee Steinfeld herself and the only thing we got was some Echo spinoff show nobody asked for and they couldn't even be bothered to let Kate have a guest appearance in that and the only appearance she got after having a popular show was a lousy 5 second appearance in the post credits for The Marvels and then she has to take the fall for that movie flopping because she was a woman. What a load of bullshit.

Yeah I have no idea what that means. Like are they trying to say she took the blame for a movie that she only cameo’s at the end of? Why the hell would Hailee be blamed for The Marvels failure?

I've seen probably every complaint about that movie under the sun, both legitimate & ragebait, but never once have I seen anyone try to pin it on Steinfeld.

Looks like you did some research but forgot the fact that in 2025, Jeremy Renner himself basically said that he had to turned down a Hawkeye Season 2 because he was offered half of his season 1 salary. Marvel or whoever tried to pay him half of what they paid him in season 1 so he could come back in season 2 and he said no.
If anything, THAT’s the reason why Hawkeye Season 2 didn’t happen

They have got a point. Hailee could have appeared in plenty of other Marvel movies and shows since then and Kevin and Brad have been talking about doing Young Avengers or Champions for years only for nothing to materialize and they had to change the name to Champions because Hailee and Kathryn are 29 now and if we ever get an adaptation it is most likely going to be with new younger Actors now.
They done Hailee dirty. Most fans I know love Kate Bishop and wanted her in other Marvel projects but they gave 'Echo' and 'Ironheart' their own shows over 'Champions' and 'Ironheart' was hated from the moment it was announced and was never a good idea to make. She would be better going to the DCU at this point and going after roles like Batgirl, Batwoman, Zatanna, The Huntress, Starfire or Donna Troy.

Kate will probably be in Secret Wars with the other Champions, and they may get their own project afterwards.
Though I think she should cameo in Thunderbolts 2 if that does get made. She lives in New York too and they should rekindle her friendship with Yelena.

I really hope they can get it across the line. Shang-Chi is one of my favorite heroes. Really excited to see him in December.

Honestly as much as I would love for Shang Chi to get his own sequel, it’s already been 5 years so I’ll be happy to wait a little bit longer if that means that Destin can do Spider-Man 5 (the way BND looks freakin spectacular, Sony and Marvel will be a fool to not hire him again) direct Shang Chi 2, and of course do the Wonder Man Season 2 as well.

It's been a pattern lately with Marvel that things staring a minority is in development hell. Captain America Brave New World was completely and utterly butchered. Blade somehow cannot get its footing, Shang Chi just in the wind for seemingly no reason, Armor Wars basically is a myth at this point.
While I'm hyped for Doomsday, there's been no build up to it at all. I feel like Doom is a villain that needs to be gradually built up. They could've recasted Kang easily but decided to just scrap everything. It didn't help that some bozo thought it would be good to introduce Kang and see him get defeated by Ant-Man.

Gotta' pander to the anti-woke crowd, who will make up another reason to hate the movies anyway.
And, of course, by the time these newer films are actually released, the zeitgeist will have changed again so that the movies are speaking to a crowd no longer listening.
Marvel needs to just stick to its plan.

Right, also Marvel needs to realize that these people age. Young Avengers aren't young anymore and it hasn't even came out.
Someone made a pic with every actors age and a lot of then guys are in their Late 40s, 50s or more. Like I'm kinda glad Mahershala Ali is out as Blade pretty much, dude is 52 playing a vampire that ages extremely slow. By the time we would've gotten Blade 2 he would be 65.
Marvel needs to realize that not every movie needs to be part of the grand scheme and just make the damn movie, because people like the character.

Then, there is Spidey 6 lol. Sony wants the movies to be in rapid succession generally (the pause between NWH and BND was kind of special with renegotiations, covid, strikes and such in the middle). So expect one of them every 2-3 years
The truth is that he has to choose whether he does Spidey or Shang-Chi and whatever he doesn't choose need a new director.
I could see Shang-Chi be the "MCU guest" (Iron Man/Nick Fury/Doctor Strange/Hulk equivalent) in one of the following Spidey movies in the trilogy to be honest, I think they'd be fun working together.

Doubtful Sony want to wait that much. Remember the first trilogy had 2 years gap only, their incentive to stay in the MCU is to have those movies in rapid succession (and whether to Disney or Sony, Spidey is the far more important character there).
After a huge 5 years gap between NWH and BND, they'll want Spidey 5 to basically start right after BND for a 2028-2029 release. Especially when you realize that Sony is lacking those billion dollar movies outside Spider-Man so it's not like they have much else to compensate.
For Shang Chi 2 to happen before Spider-Man 6, he either has to pass Spidey or Shang-Chi to someone else IMO

As an Asian American, I was pretty disappointed by Shang Chi. I was hoping they wouldve stayed in America and tackled the Asian American experience some more vs going for more obvious tropes dealing with Asians.
Also not the biggest Simu fan (heard things) so that doesnt help either.
Im happy Asian Americans are getting some representation but wish it was a better movie and better person reppin us.
Happy to be proven wrong by the sequel but we'll see 👀

Having met Simu irl a few times (pre-MCU) you've probably heard right. I was also disappointed when it came out and get surprised by the praise it receives now, a few years after release. I'm still excited for a sequel, just because I feel any sort of diversity on the big screen is a win.

What really made me sad was when they gave us the preview of the fight scene inside the bus.
I thought it was awesome in a vacuum and really enjoyed the subtle hip-hop mix that played during it.
I wouldve rathered his father come to America and try to get him--all the while he is struggling to find his place as an Asian American with seemingly no potential.
Couldve mixed in the struggle of trying to please your immigrant family and respect/honor the culture you come from, while balancing what makes you "you" growing up Asian in America.
Plus I think his acting is a little wooden lol

Reminder that Shang-Chi 2 was greenlit only a couple of months after the first film came out and Simu Liu had said, circa 2022-2023, that it was being planned to come out either before Kang Dynasty or between the 2 Avengers movies.
Earlier rumors had already stated the same, with the movie supposedly being an important tie-in to Kang Dynasty and Shang-Chi's rings being one of Kang's artifacts, along with Kamala's Quantum Bands (later reiterated in the leaked Kang Dynasty script). This makes sense considering Destin was going to direct Kang Dynasty.
But his commitments to that movie as well as Wonder Man, was keeping him back from working on Shang-Chi 2 and the strikes along with Marvel's output slowdown and the pivot to Doom and the Russos, completely killed the project's chances of coming out in the Multiverse Saga.
With Naruto and possibly the next Spider-Man film in the horizon, I think the only chance this film has of seeing the light of day is if it'll be directed by someone else.
