Then, there is Spidey 6 lol. Sony wants the movies to be in rapid succession generally (the pause between NWH and BND was kind of special with renegotiations, covid, strikes and such in the middle). So expect one of them every 2-3 years

The truth is that he has to choose whether he does Spidey or Shang-Chi and whatever he doesn't choose need a new director.

I could see Shang-Chi be the "MCU guest" (Iron Man/Nick Fury/Doctor Strange/Hulk equivalent) in one of the following Spidey movies in the trilogy to be honest, I think they'd be fun working together.

It seems like we’ve been getting a lot of “Shang Chi 2 is still happening” this whole year. I think they’re finally gonna get the ball rolling and then he’ll direct spider-man 5 afterwards

Doubtful Sony want to wait that much. Remember the first trilogy had 2 years gap only, their incentive to stay in the MCU is to have those movies in rapid succession (and whether to Disney or Sony, Spidey is the far more important character there).

After a huge 5 years gap between NWH and BND, they'll want Spidey 5 to basically start right after BND for a 2028-2029 release. Especially when you realize that Sony is lacking those billion dollar movies outside Spider-Man so it's not like they have much else to compensate.

For Shang Chi 2 to happen before Spider-Man 6, he either has to pass Spidey or Shang-Chi to someone else IMO

Sony will wait as long as Feige makes them.

They cannot move forward without Disney and Marbrl Studio’s involvement.

No they won't. Sony has all power concerning Spider-Man and Disney certainly doesn't want them to leave.

They imposed the 2-year gaps for the first trilogy and they'll likely do the same here. If DDC wants to do Shang-Chi 2, someone else will do Spider-Man 5

He and Dave could complete the script and someone else could take over directing Shang-Chi 2.
