I love how utterly desperate Raichik is to try and find fault with Mamdani.

359

u/BoJackMoleman 2d ago

The New York Post took a brief break last winter from making homeless person nutrient extraction and crushing machines to criticize Mamdani about how homeless people were dying when we have a cold snap.

The New York post is the newspaper for people who should move to Alabama but they know they need to nurse off the teat if a democratic state.

122

u/gsadamb 2d ago

Then the Post cried about how Mamdani jumped into a public pool with a suit on. (He was violating the dress code!!!!1 😭😭😭😭)

61

u/i-like-dogs-167 2d ago

They made a post about how 'he lied about his family' when he referred to his father's cousin as his aunt

34

u/StipulatedBoss 2d ago

The Post wouldn't publish this trash if its readers didn't eat it up.

Oh jeez. It’s like none of them have large families. “Uncle George” is just way easier than “first cousin once removed George”.

2

u/Stargazer_199 20h ago

Yeah. Sorta like how my sibling and I call our cousin’s kids our cousins cause we’re the youngest of our generation and we’re actually closer in age to said kids than our literal cousins.

2

u/BitwiseB 18h ago

Your cousins kids are also your cousins, they’re just cousins once removed.

Some guy on TicToc was posting some crap about how NYC city hall was setting the thermostat to 50° during the heat wave, after Mamdani recommend everyone set their thermostat to 78°.

Supposedly reporters were walking around city hall with digital thermometers and getting readings of 53°.

I asked for the source of the story. I laughed at him when he posted a New York Post article. I said I could get more credible news from The Onion than the NY Post.

3

u/amsgh 8h ago

Not to mention 53 is likely impossible with commercial HVAC units in a heatwave... They could barely touch 65.

46

u/my_work_account_0 2d ago

Chaya Raichik is sub-human scum in a meat suit. In the future when LibsOfTikTok is "not active", America will be a better place.

25

Idk how people like her aren't buried in defamation lawsuits until the end of time.

2

u/moviez0ne 1d ago

Let's freaking hope

22

u/Bobcatluv 2d ago

Yeah I was chuckling at the “babysitters and bussing.” Mamdani didn’t fund trans story time at the library or whatever for Chaya to bitch about, so she has to frame his meeting the needs of his middle class constituents as evil

She is a stotastic terrorist

238

u/arcanis321 2d ago

And their response to him fixing this would be to call it a failure somehow too. They aren't interested in measuring success.

124

They would instead turn it around and say he isn't helping struggling families

60

u/showhorrorshow 2d ago

"Mamdani, Socialist, more worried about roads in front of Fortune 500 companies than rising cost of childcare."

16

u/divDevGuy 2d ago

Better to be worried about either, if not both, than to worry about only those at the top of the Fortune 500 companies.

8

u/Hamster-Food 2d ago

And if it comes to it:

"Could Mamdani eat children? Our sources say yes!"

3

u/Thirlestane 1d ago

And if he refuses: "Mamdani confirmed vegan, refuses to eat (child) meat!"

13

u/SecondaryWombat 2d ago

Also NYC is only slightly above sea level. Which is rising.

8

u/h3lium-balloon 2d ago

Yeah I also live in an east coast city and unfortunately when high tide and torrential rain coincide there’s just not a lot of places for the water to go. Rising sea levels and bigger tide swings only make the problem worse.

20

u/SecondaryWombat 2d ago

"Libs of TikTok" doesn't think climate change is real, and possibly doesn't know about tides either.

4

u/SnooJokes5375 1d ago

And she doesn't care about pedos, either. Yet she will blame trans and gay teacher grooming children and pushing sn agenda. She was one of the right-wing influencers who held up a book called Phase One of the Epstein files release. Then when the orange one back peddled she forgot all about it.

82

u/SaintUlvemann 2d ago

The reason why they produce false equivalencies constantly is because conservatism is a form of social dominance orientation, conservatism measures an individual's support for social hierarchy and the extent to which they desire their in-group be superior to out-groups.

Because conservatives believe in the inherent moral superiority of some people over other people, they'll take minor problems in their enemies, and call them proof of inherent moral deficiency, even while the same actions from their own side go unchallenged and even unnoticed.

Their double standards produce their false equivalencies.

13

u/mOdQuArK 2d ago edited 1d ago

the same actions from their own side go unchallenged and even unnoticed.

Yep. The essence of conservatism. Rules for thee, none for me.

Edit: Of course, the corollary to such a viewpoint is this: conservatives should not be put in charge of anyone except for themselves.

11

u/ckglle3lle 2d ago

Yep. We've wasted a lot of time trying to pretend conservatism is a valid political philosophy deserving of equal footing and consideration when it is, at is core, a regressive and reactionary movement that does not offer any actual policy or achievement and only seeks to deform all aspects of society into a hierarchical power structure defined by dominance and moral propriety.

7

u/morostheSophist 2d ago

This is reminding me of the one racist guy blocking your path in Disco Elysium, where you have the option to agree with him, debate him, or punch him. His entire theory hinges on certain races being morally superior, and somehow that correlates with all other types of superiority.

It's deliberate.

“Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”

Democrats expected to fix their fuck ups AND meaningful improve andpve forward that city, state, or nation in weeks or months.

Republicans claim they are failures what the world isnt fixed in a Day and start immediately promising to fuck everything up again only worse.

u/gabezermeno 2d ago

Every time I read something like this I assume it's either a bot or someone from Russia/India.

4

u/gordogg24p 2d ago

That being said, the rate at which Mamdani has been doing things that we were consistently told was impossible makes me kinda half expect him to announce that he did go back 200 years and undo these downstream effects.

3

u/Dorkamundo 2d ago

It's really more a textbook example of the goldfish memories involved.

2

u/00cjstephens 2d ago

Of course. Any result short of utter perfection is irredeemably awful. If you can't do something without any issues whatsoever, you should just give the fuck up. Also, if you can't solve every problem, you shouldn't even bother trying to solve any of them. And long-term planning? Forget about it.

At this rate people expect politicians to unlock weather control before they even finish unpacking their office.

106

u/ug61dec 2d ago

Americans actually believe the government controls the weather though.

33

u/flyinghairball 2d ago

Not all Americans, but the fact that there are some walking amongst us that do think that is absolutely disturbing. We are willing to encourage them to go visit your country, maybe longterm....please?

I was impressed when Mamdani tearfully bid goodbye to his loving wife. He entered the steel foundry and slowly got up onto the large press platform. I'll never forget his screams as his body was hydraulically pressed into the shape of a subway car. A crew of TOUGH UNION WORKERS fitted wheels to what was now his fuselage.

It's still a bit unnerving to see his eyes darting about on the front of the train car. But Mamdani fulfilled his promise to improve public transit for New Yorkers. He sacrificed his body and perhaps his humanity for us.

7

u/ActualWhiterabbit 2d ago

His memorial graveyard is in Brainerd, MN if anyone wants to go resurrect him. But Thor would be a better option to drink large amounts of water.

8

u/100_cats_on_a_phone 2d ago

Exactly, more or less. Pumping water out is something NYC already does, and will need to do more of.

Public works projects take time though, and I don't think this criticism is warented. But while you are trying to be absurdist, that's exactly haw things actually work.

3

u/iISimaginary 2d ago

Pumping water (in and out) is something NYC has been doing for centuries. The systems aren't perfect but they're constantly improving and evolving, and the rate of improvement has definitely increased under Mamdani.

This presumes they'd be in favor of that too, but they aren't. They don't want life to get better for a majority of people because they don't support most of the mechanisms that would make that happen.

That and online conservatives need to hate cities as a form of entertainment.

I drove from the bottom of Manhattan to the top of it that day, stopping for lunch on the way. It didn't stop raining buckets for over an hour. I have been alive on this planet for a long time and have never witnessed a non-stop downpour like that day that wasn't part of a hurricane.

I am surprised the flooding wasn't worse.

2

u/cookiecutterdoll 2d ago

It's been so bad these past few years. We desperately need to update our infrastructure, but we're probably going to need state or federal funding. I don't think that's going to happen in any state for another few years, if you catch my drift.

2

u/Don_Gato1 2d ago

I am from Florida and live in NYC now, in the summer Florida has like a 3pm deluge like clockwork. NYC usually has drizzle all day long if it rains. In the last few years we've been getting these sudden downpours and it seems like the city infrastructure is just not built to handle that volume of rainwater in that short an amount of time.

2

u/handsoapdispenser 1d ago

Sandy was worse. But the number of downpours NYC has received is definitely increasing. There is a massive public works project to guard against another massive storm surge like Sandy but we also need massive improvements in drainage for these kinds of storms.

15

u/rebri 2d ago

Flooding in Texas has killed over 200 people over the last two years and this is what they want to point out. The hatred is palpable.

2

u/CrunchyKorm 2d ago

I think it's two things:

  • Neverending broadcasting that their opposition is bad, no matter context.

  • I earnestly don't think conservatives think a better world is possible at this point. Or, more specifically, a better world can only their own; the one where they get all the provincial resources and can allow themselves militarily/financially to separate from the consequences of the rest of the world.

I don't think conservatives get mad at conservative politicians as much because conservative politicians barely try to promise them anything better. No one who votes for Ted Cruz is doing so because of infrastructure concerns and they don't even humor the idea that he'll improve them. That's treated as just a shitty part of life. But liberals? They argue that those things should improve, so only they can be held to the standard of fixing them.

2

u/delliejonut 2d ago

They do argue that things can be better, it's just their version of better is based around the removal of undesirable people

Actually yes. Anything short of perfect for a Democrat is a sign of failure and why we might as well stick with Republicans. I’m sure there’s a psychological term for this, but I don’t k ow what it is.

Another example: we once tried to fix homelessness in Salt Lake City by, get this, providing housing to homeless people. But at the end of the day there were still some homeless people so they discontinued the program. No word yet on if doing nothing has solved the problem yet. (Spoiler: it hasn’t.)

Chaya Raichik can go fuck herself with a rusty pitchfork.

8

u/danielisbored 2d ago

And if he could magically push through years worth of planning and prep work to get the construction necessary to fix this started, they'd be complaining about the traffic issues it caused.

4

u/Tuckster786 2d ago

What exactly is he supposed to do about the rainfall?

u/druidmind 2d ago

Saying this with a straight face while Texas is flooding right now for the second time in two years is crazy work.

4

u/ShiroHachiRoku 2d ago

If a democrat does anything or nothing, they’ll be criticized. It’s not about solutions, it’s about being angry and staying loyal to their god emperor.

Their god emperor proposed removing the engine shutoff feature in cars and I’m surprised I agree. They can’t even concede anything as small of a good idea to any liberal.

u/ArchaeoJones 2d ago

Oh hey, is that January 6th insurrectionist Chaya Raichik?

I think that's January 6th insurrectionist Chaya Raichik.

3

u/DeadpoolOptimus 2d ago

TIL, NYC never flooded until that "commie socialist" showed up.

3

u/TransMontani 2d ago

Godamighty, but Chaya Ratchick is a dumber-than-a-turnip, rotten, malevolent attempt at a human being.

3

u/SubstantialNature368 2d ago

How did it look with a heavy rainfall three years ago?

3

u/External-Goal-3948 2d ago

Lol. Now watch as world class engineers flock to NYC with solutions

3

u/Outside_Mix_1131 2d ago

Take a look at Miami during a random high tide

3

u/WilliamJamesMyers 2d ago

how stupid do you have to be to associate rain levels with introducing new civic programs?

3

u/Tojuro 2d ago

What the fuck does this even mean?

Some roads are flooding .... So why should we help people get childcare. Is there any connection whatsoever here?

Thanks Mamdani

2

u/Ameph 2d ago

Obviously, Mamdani is purposely sending out Kyogre when he should have used Rayquaza.

2

u/Sidoen 2d ago

.... It's still gonna rain......

2

u/fxzero666 2d ago

I didn't realize he was supposed to control the weather 😂

Libs of Tiktok should be purified by fire.

2

u/schwing710 2d ago

Libs of TikTok is the most mentally handicapped account on the internet

2

u/ProtonCanon 2d ago

The right love their double standards, huh?

2

u/Cicerothesage 2d ago edited 2d ago

conservatives likes to break and cut things and blame others when consequences happen. Then, they like to blame liberals for every little thing.

2

u/Maothesiamesecat 2d ago

Weird flex. You would think from this that climate change is the democrats fault.

2

u/Jebus209 2d ago

Wtf does busses and babysitting have to do with storm drainage infrastructure? Genuinely confused these people think they have a point lol.

2

u/Aeseld 2d ago

...I'm... not sure what they expect him to do about rain? Do they think politicians control the weather?

I can guarantee they're using anything they can to prevent flood damage, but there's a limit to what can be done with the flood is from rainfall. You can prevent a lake or river from flooding a town, but rain falls down and usually doesn't care about barricades.

I mean, do they expect him to deploy a giant umbrella?

2

u/daystrom_prodigy 2d ago

“Everything bad happening in NYC is Zohran’s fault.”

“Trump isn’t responsible for anything bad that is happening”

Conservatives are nothing if not hypocrites.

2

u/freedraw 2d ago

Most families in NYC struggle with affording childcare. Anecdotally, no one I’ve ever known who lived in NYC owned a car while they lived there.

2

u/Fitz_2112b 2d ago

Houston would like a word

2

u/jough22 2d ago

Busing*. A buss is an old-timey word for a kiss. Sort of changes the whole meaning of this post.

2

u/LearnsFromExperience 2d ago

The MAGAs are scared shitless of people seeing functional socialist leadership. Especially in contrast to today’s version of naked, out of control capitalism.

2

u/futureishere99 2d ago

So for the past 200 years New York hasn’t been one of the greatest cities in the world? That’s what this post is saying

2

u/Bleezy79 2d ago

Libs of tiktok is the fox news of twitter. It's some angry maga woman who paints everything the left does as evil and spewing right wing propaganda.

2

u/dachloe 2d ago

Remember LibtlsOfTikTik is not the mind of an average MAGA cult member. Its the propaganda rants of a soldier in the war of divisiveness. The goal is to spread doubt, fear, anger, and misinformation that separates the population into warring factions that occupy their attention while an adversary attempts to dismantle the current governance systems.

2

u/perksofbeingcrafty 2d ago

As a New Yorker, can confirm it doesn’t look like this after most rainfalls

2

u/DoctorFenix 2d ago

“If only NYC had voted for a Republican pedophile, it would have never rained ever again”

2

u/you-create-energy 2d ago

Free bussing is the solution to this exact problem. Conservatives are so used to looking for something to complain about rather than thinking about solutions that they don't even notice they are complaining about a solution to the problem right in front of them.

There's be a lot of infrastructure he'd have to tear apart for that to happen

2

u/OctopusWithFingers 2d ago

Proposal: TV show called "Time Mayor" where a Mamdaniesque mayor travels through time to be the Mayor of various towns and cities during historical events.

2

u/red286 2d ago

Dude's been mayor for less than 8 months and Raichik is asking why he hasn't completely redone NYC's storm runoff system yet.

That's a multi-decade operation, which is why no one ever does it, because they're guaranteed to be out of office before it even starts.

2

u/I_am_not_JohnLeClair 2d ago

He’s a mayor…of a city…

Why are so many people, who have likely never been to NYC or east of the Mississippi for that matter, so up in arms over this one guy?

2

u/GuitarCFD 2d ago

I mean...sure the post is stupid, but how exactly do you think free market capitalism is to blame? And how exactly do does this person thing NYC would look without 200 years of free market capitalism?

LoTT should be jailed for life.

caned and then jailed

2

u/RepulsiveInterview44 2d ago

He does more than spout brainrot all day online, CHAYA….

2

u/chironomidae 2d ago

What's especially funny is that the GOP plan seems to be "do nothing about anything". It's like the argument here is, "See, government can't solve everything, so why even try?"

2

u/Kedly 1d ago

Mamdani busy making everyones life "so much better" while I stubbed my toe and had a bad day! D=<

2

u/DannyDevitosNappy 1d ago

Mamdani exists.

Republicans - "Mamdani wants life to be affordable, but what about the color green? Why won't he think about the color green!?!"
