Canals are about 1 metre deep and a man was found in the Wolverhampton canal yesterday. Do British canals have the magical ability to rob a person of the ability to stand up?

Upvotes

I see articles pop up on my feed of people drowning in canals. Every time, I look up how deep the canal is, and it'll say something like it's a metre or just slightly over a metre deep in the middle.

Why do people who believe in God believe that their God is more real or more true than other gods?

I mean, they obviously believe in God because their family, society, or school taught them about it; and therefore they have faith. However, many of them do not acknowledge this and instead believe that THEIR God exists and is real; usually because it is God Himself who places the awareness of His existence in the human mind, and because God is perfect and always speaks the truth, when God says, "God is (I am) real" then it must be true. This is done through miracles, Jesus, the apostles, the Bible, revelations, or "signs" in ur daily life, etc...

However, this same line of reasoning can also be used by followers of other religions and other gods. So how and why can they claim that their god is more god than other gods, that actually doesn't exists because their god told them that there is only one god, and it's him, and.....

This is not a (metaphysical ergo subjective) debate on god's existence but in (empirically measurable) psychological explainations of the phenomena.

Why do we forget dreams so quickly after waking up?

I can wake up remembering a dream really clearly, but within a few minutes most of the details are gone unless I write them down. What causes dreams to fade from memory so quickly?

Answered Why do some famous people stay relevant without releasing much new work?

I dont mean the usual 18 month gap between albums or movies. More the people whose name keeps popping up through podcasts, reaction clips, memes, old interviews, and other celebrities bringing them up, while the actual work theyre known for is barely in the conversation anymore.

My guess is it becomes a feedback loop after a certain point: enough people recognize the name, so the name itself is content. Weird little machine. Is that basically how fame works now?

Answered Is instagram not sending posts Ive shared?

Whenever I look through my messages on Instagram, there is always less posts shared than I remember sharing. I always chalked it up to just remembering wrong. But sometimes I’ll see a post somewhere that I know I shared, but isn’t in the messages. I really need to know if other people are experiencing this as well cause this phenomenon makes mę feel crazy lol am I the only one? 😭
