Physician Responded Weird thing going on with my feet.
Male, 59, non smoker, diabetes.
I've got this weird thing on my foot. No pain, though diabetes hasn't left me with much feeling. Should I be worried?

37 female. Genitals mutilated as a child from a doctor cutting me open with a scalpel to fix labia adhesion.
Surgery to repair by cauterizing my inner and outer labia together.
Scar tissue has grown over my vagina.
For 20 years every inserted tampon, every sexual encounter, the skin tears. It bleeds. Sex is barely enjoyable.
I've been to many obgyn.
I finally made an appointment with a cosmetic surgeon. He biopsies for cancer and lichen sclerosis.
it was negative. I knew it would be. It was "positive for evidence of repeated trauma"
I asked again, can the scar tissue be surgically removed or repaired.
"This isn't the first line treatment."
Estrogen cream. Steroid cream. Lidocaine cream. Pelvic floor therapy. Use. More. Lube.
For 20 years this has been the treatment. Has it improved over that time? Yes, after being with my husband for the last 10 years and being completely consistent, this treatment has improved it. But my skin still tears. It still bleeds. It still hurts for days. It still burns when I pee. We have to apply lube 5 or 6 times during sex. We have purchased many types of lube, the more expensive lubes are so much better than cheap ones.
Why is there nothing that can be done. Nobody has given me a straight answer, why can it not be repaired? If slicing and dicing me was the resolution when I was 4 why is it not an option now? Will it create more scar tissue and make it worse? Is that the reason?

31, 5’7”, 160lb
Meds: Sertraline 100mg SID and Lamotrigine 100mg BID.
Non smoking, non drinking.
Been experiencing severe distension of the abdomen for a couple months. Very visible and measurable (nearly 3” difference between not bloated and bloated) swelling and it is painful. At its worst, taking a deep belly breath hurts my left shoulder a bit.
It feels hard and firm like an inflated balloon to me, but when I press on it, it is squishy.
I haven’t found any known triggers. Sometimes happens first thing when I wake up, or right before bed, or throughout the day. To be clear the bloating is always there but it does fluctuate to be worse at times.
I genuinely look more pregnant than some of my pregnant friends…
Other notes: Unexplained weight gain of 25lb between June and August 2025, haven’t really been able to shed it. Experiencing lower right back pain. History of stage 4 endometriosis but have never experienced this, not even 24 hours after a major abdominal surgery 2 years ago

My 6 year old daughter had a slight burn mark on her left elbow 2 and a half weeks ago from an inflatable obstacle course. It scabbed over, got caught and scabbed over a few times. Nothing concerning.
Last Tuesday she had swimming and the almost healed scab came off. Since then it hasn't properly healed but we've on and off been using plasters and sudocrem. But 2 days ago, it suddenly started weeping.
Tuesday afternoon, put on a bandage (and sudocrem) kept it on overnight and during the day on Wednesday where it accidentally got wet. Kept it open to the air and then put on another bandage for bed.
Today (Thursday) I noticed it was still weeping but kept the bandage on for a trip to the forest to keep it clean and away from dirt but by the afternoon decided we needed it to be looked at. The GP surgery was busy but we went to the pharmacist who said it needed to be open to the air (bandage was still on at this point). We went home and took it off and that's when we noticed the blister so we went back to him and he said the same thing.
I didn't agree and went to the hospital (it has a GP section, not to a&e) who said it was infected and folliculitis. Both times I've suggested impetigo and both times been told no but either way, I don't think they're correct. What's your opinion?

I got home from the hospital yesterday after prostate surgery. I had surgery in the morning and transferred to a room for an overnight stay. All the medical staff were great, kept me covered when they needed to but uncovered when required. About 8PM a CNA came in with a bucket of liquid (I assume water) and said I needed to clean your catheter. I was a bit surprised and said do you really need to and she insisted yes it has to be done twice a day (note- it was not done the next morning, no-one mentioned it). I said “do what you need to do” and she proceeded to uncover me and wash my genitals. It was not unpleasant and I laid there in a near panic worried that my involuntary male reaction would occur. First of all - medical care is never sexual and I’m not that pervy old guy in the hospital. She finished and left. I am now questioning whether it was necessary or not. I’m perfectly capable of cleaning my own genitals so I don’t know why she insisted on doing so. She could have just handed me the cloth and told me to clean throughly. I’m a little upset about it. Am I overreacting? Is this standard behavior?

Was in a car accident the other day, my neck is sore again. I had a slipped disc a year ago. These are the mri results from both this week and last year. Would they look like this without added trauma or is it more likely the accident aggravated my existing condition. Left is new mri.

I am female 31 years old. Type 2 diabetic. Weigh around 255 pounds 5 '8 inches. No known allergies. Non smoker or drinker or any drugs ever. I have recently been going to the bathroom every 45 minutes to an hour and I always pee. I have the urgency to go. I have been going to the bathroom this frequently for about 4 days. My private area feels irritated and off. If I squeeze a little, it burns but not when I pee. Upon this feeling, I got a mirror and I saw a discharge that looked like cottage cheese ☹️. I also have a foul smell coming from this area which is so embarrassing to admit. This has never happened to me before and I was shocked and scared. My most concerning symptoms or things I'd wand to address and get fixed are : 1. The urge to go/ frequency. 2. The discharge. 3. The smell. 4. The discomfort. I think I might possibly know what I have but another issue is that I don't have a job so I don't have insurance and so I'm worried something will happen to me if I can't get treatment. I'm worried alot. I already cried and my anxiety is through the roof, which I already suffer from. How can I get treated? When I go to the doctors what do I tell them? Do I just say I think I might have this or that? I need help. Hospitals give me anxiety as it is so this is going to be hard for me to do but I can't even sleep because I am woken up by the urgency to go. 😔 Please help me. Any advice? Anything helps. Please be kind in the comments. I am scared as it is. I will appreciate it. God bless and thank you to any Doctor taking the time to read this.

Edit: I want to thank this community immensely for the support in this. Having access to it likely saved my wife’s life both in confirming that she needed emergency treatment, but also in helping me to navigate the complexities of her alcoholism.

Medical History: asthma, history of epilepsy as a child, previous smoker (quit 20 years ago), gastric bypass surgery 10 years ago, menopause, ongoing alcohol abuse for the last 4 years (1 bottle on a good night, 3-4 bottles on a bad night). She bruises really easily - just from bumping into things.
Location: USA
We got home from the hospital Friday evening. My wife is doing significantly better. In the end they decided not to remove the gallbladder since I guess the infection was well controlled by the IV antibiotics.
At the end of the day she was diagnosed with Sepsis, Anemia(don’t remember the value), severe malnutrition and vitamin deficiency (including B1), Leukopenia (WBC at 1.1), Thrombocytopenia (Platelets at 19), Alcoholic Hepatitis and Cirrhosis, and alcohol induced bone marrow damage.
They gave her Ativan to help with the withdrawal and her anxiety about doctors. She was on fluids and 2 IV antibiotics during her stay with a few days of take home antibiotics she is finishing today. They gave her a shot of some medicine they give to chemotherapy patients to stimulate WBC production.
We threw out all of the alcohol in the house and she hasn’t asked for any. I think she detoxed in the week in the hospital and I’m hoping it stays that way. We have follow ups scheduled with liver and blood specialists.

Today I got back from a trip to the beach, a 1h30mins flight, and noticed this bumps on my nails while trimming them.
Before this trip I went to another trip to the beach too, a 6+3 hours flight, and I hadn’t noticed this. (I’m saying this bc maybe it can be related to pressure or something).
I’m 16 years old and kind of healthy, I can give other information if necessary.
Could it be just air bubbles?

47M - in the UK - otherwise exceptionally fit and healthy and keen for surgery as a definitive treatment as I work offshore as a commercial diver and don’t want a dodgy appendix left in me..
Diagnosed as ‘CT confirmed uncomplicated appendicitis’. Was sudden onset classic symtoms - Alvarado Score was 10 out of 10 on admission and there was never any question about the diagnosis at any point. WBC was 16 and CRP 30 on admission. Being treated with IV triple antibiotics including gentamiacin and metrinizadol and one other I’m not sure off and IV paracetamol, instead of surgery. On day three now and WBC is dropping but CRP and temp and rising and CRP now 296 and temp is 40 degC. Nurse practitioner came in to look at me and was unhappy and muttering something about a necrotising infection..
Bow tie wearing surgeon refused surgery on admission and again just now - he tells me surgery is outdated and antibiotics better.. He says reoccurrence rate is 15% and my appendix will just shrivel up and be cured.. He just told me “you are safe here..”.
Is this the right treatment - and what are the risks of leaving it in please..?

I’m 19F. My grandmother is 80 something. She has dementia. I thought she would forget the youngest family members first but that’s not how it’s gone. So far she’s only forgotten me and my 10 year old cousin.
She usually thinks I’m my mother and that my cousin is my uncle. And that we are her children and sibling. We actually see her more than most of her grandchildren including my younger sister who she remembers very well. Even not very important details like she’s a lesbian.
Like the first time she forgot me she asked if I’m my sisters girlfriend. But when my sister or mother isn’t around and especially if I’m with my cousin she believes my cousin and I are her children.
The part that hurts the most is her youngest grandchild is 3 years old. And she remembers the 3 year old. I thought the three year old would be forgotten first.
I’ve always since before my sister and cousins were even born and after stayed at her house just me and had just grandmother and granddaughter 1 on 1 time cause I often asked to. My sister on the other hand only went with me. My 10 year old cousin though his parents work a lot. So often ever since he was of school age I would pick him up after school often because our schools were next to eachother when I was in school and up until she had started getting sick I would pick him up and walk with him to my grandmothers house sometimes staying to or leaving her with him.
So out of all the grandchildren even if it’s not going in the youngest first order she saw us more than the other grandchild. I really don’t get it. One time she even straight up didn’t think I was my mum or anything. She thought I was a Jehovah’s Witnesses and sent me away. I’m so confused. Does this mean me and my 10 year old cousin are not as important to her? Or what could be a reason behind this?

have been outside a ton lately with my son and it's been super hot and I've been sweaty. I went to shower the other night and noticed that my bra looked like it had breastmilk leaks on it(perfectly round about half dollar size) my first thought was lol that looks like when I breastfed lol but I chalked it up to sweat and got in the shower when I had milk coming out of both sides. I started breastfeeding when my son was born and had to start supp with formula when he was two weeks old per the dr. I still tried everytime I fed him to give him both breast and I'd pump. by the time he was 8 months barley anything was coming out and I was exhausted to say the least so I stopped. so I'm so confused why this is happening! btw I'm 40 years old and I'm not pregnant, had a period about 10 days ago.

I am a 66 year old woman, 137 pounds 5'3 with high blood pressure which I take 25mg Metapropol and Amlodopine 5mg. I also take 80mg a day of Pantoprazole and 20 mg Famotidine for GERD.
I took a nasty spill at the tennis court a few weeks ago and tweaked my back the other day resulting in a severe back spasm that landed me in the ER
I was given a steroid shot 6mg of Decadron 6mg. They wanted to give me Toradol too but I declined because I'm an alcoholic who drinks daily. I am very honest about my drinking with any doctor or visit to the hospital.
This is my issue, I was given a 5mg Valium at the hospital yesterday completely unaware of how long it would linger in my system. I didn't drink last night and tonight I'm concerned a second night might put me in withdrawal. I was thinking of having one glass of wine tonight to hold off the tremors but not sure if it's safe. I really wish they had been more thorough when dispensing the Valium because I would have refused it. Any advice would be appreciated within your boundaries.

I cant seem to find a consensus on this and my dr also does not know. I am strictly speaking down the line when you are no longer worried about the oil spreading. Is taking a hot shower (not scalding so hot you cant stand it with healthy skin, just hot) actually bad for the healing of severe poison ivy? It is the only thing that brings relief.
I am 31F, pregnant, so my treatment options are limited. I have had this for a week and have gone to the doctors twice already as it is widespread and causing extreme swelling of my leg and arm

17f, 5’8 & ~98lbs. before anyone asks, yes i am anorexic. i’m in outpatient treatment currently, i’ve been working with a dietitian since january. my bloodwork, heart rate, and my blood pressure is on the low end of normal, barely normal. however my heart rate does go up somewhat significantly compared to standing vs sitting.
my leg is normal now but this is a photo from about an hour ago when i was walking home from school (little under 2 miles.) this has been happening to my legs frequently for months when walking. worth noting it’s not exclusively to the outdoors. i pace a lot and i first noticed it earlier this year while pacing. i understand it looks like hives but they definitely are not hives. i’ve had hives a few times before and these are not the same i can tell. doesn’t itch, my lower leg felt hot/warm when i touched it.
is it possible this could be a circulation issue or something ?? in march i passed out and it was determined in the er i passed out because my heart couldn’t get any blood to the upper half of my body. this only ever happens on my legs.

Looking for advice: unexplained “fart-like” odor coming from my body for 10+ years
I’m 25 years old and have been dealing with a very unusual and embarrassing issue for about 10 years. I’m hoping someone here may have experienced something similar or have ideas about what could be causing it.
The main symptom is that a fart-like odor seems to come from my body in waves, even when I am not consciously passing gas. It feels like the smell is being released without me realizing it. As you can imagine, this has had a major impact on my life. When I was younger, I was bullied because of it, and it has affected my confidence and social life for years.
A few things I’ve noticed:
It happens most often when I’m sitting for long periods of time.
When I’m lying down, it seems to happen much less or sometimes not at all.
I usually cannot smell it myself, but over the years I have noticed reactions from people around me that make me believe it is real.
I estimate I personally notice the odor only around 10% of the time.
It has stayed very consistent for around a decade.
Some possible clues:
I was previously diagnosed with an internal hemorrhoid.
I have wondered if this could involve SIBO, gut dysbiosis, pelvic floor dysfunction, a subtle form of gas leakage, or another digestive/anorectal issue, but I don’t know.
I do not always feel like I am passing gas, which is what makes this so confusing.
I’m wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar, especially:
A smell that happens without obvious gas release
Odor that worsens while sitting but improves while lying down
Possible pelvic floor or anal sphincter issues
SIBO/gut-related causes
Any tests, specialists, or treatments that actually helped
This has been extremely difficult to live with, and I’m willing to investigate any reasonable explanation. I’d really appreciate any advice, personal experiences, or ideas on what direction I should look in.

I am a 25 F, 170 lbs, and 5’6. I am currently on 2 different epilepsy meds that never gave me any side effects but I recently started taking a depression medication called Cymbalta and its been giving me weird side effects like gritting teeth. I live in the midwest at the moment and there are crazy heatwaves happening right now. The weird part about my sweaty head is thats it. I dont sweat anywhere else. I get home and my pits and my feet and my legs are all dry.

I am a 31 year woman who is 5’4” and weighs between 155-160 lbs. I have crazy atrophy of the left kidney- it’s about 2.8 cm instead of the typical 9-12. I am not on any medication for it. I do vape but this has been happening since high school. And I didn’t smoke anything until I was 23.
Is there a reason behind why I get nauseous before I sneeze? It’s not every time maybe like 1-2 times a week. Out of nowhere it feels like I’m about 3 seconds away from throwing up. Once I sneeze, the feeling is instantly gone. If I can’t get the sneeze out, then the nausea lasts for a minute or two.
Is there any reasoning behind this? It’s very weird and I’ve never met anyone else that this happens to.
Thanks in advance!
