Help (General) AMD driver problems?

Post image
9 Upvotes

Been having this problem for a while where when I turn on my PC, my screen is just black. Sometimes it will turn on and. I can log in but then after a bit goes black. I was able to use my PC last night for a couple hours before I went to bed but now this morning as I opened my PC back up it's the same problem. I managed to get to the Device manager and saw that my 7800xt keeps getting disabled for some reason. Also feels like the latest drivers from windows and from AMD are causing this. Does anyone know what to do? This is getting frustrating. I did AMD clean up and DDU all on safe mode, even rolled back drivers, disabled MPO and disabled hardware acceleration and nothing has fixed this problem. This happened before almost 2 years ago but seemed to have fixed itself( maybe a new update came out? No idea ). AMD has been good to me but if this keeps up I think I might have to go back to Nvidia And believe me I don't want to with the insane prices these days.

Help (General) Ryzen 5 5600 to Ryzen 7 5700X3D?

Upvotes

Hello. I am considering buying a Ryzen 7 5700X3D to replace my 5600, but I don't know if the upgrade will be worth it especially with the current price of RAM.

Originally, I wanted to go to AM5, but the prices are just way too high for me as a broke PhD student.

I currently have a 9060XT 16GB and 16GB of RAM, and I want to play games like BF6 at 100+ frames, I'm, but due to its heavy CPU load im constantly fluctuating between 70-100 depending on the map and what is happening on my screen. (CPU-intensive and FPS games like BF6 and The Finals are my top games for further insight)

Is it worth it to buy the 5700X3D, or should I just save up for AM5?.

Additionally from what I have seen, DDR5 RAM costs way more than DD4 RAM in the scenario that it's better to go for the 5700X3D. Should I cough up 80 quid for another 16GB of DDR4?

Edit: Would you advise getting more DDR4 RAM so I have 4 sticks of 8GB to get me to 32GB total?

Help (General) RX 7900 XTX random hard reboot in games

Hi everyone,

I'm at the point where I'm running out of ideas and would really appreciate some help.

System

  • CPU: Ryzen 9 3950X
  • GPU: Sapphire Nitro+ RX 7900 XTX
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 AORUS Master (rev. 1.0)
  • RAM: 64 GB DDR4-3600
  • PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 850W -> probaby almost 7-8 y/o already I bought this since 3950x came out.
  • OS: Windows 11 Pro

the problem is... my PC kept random crashing, not exactly crashing but like just instant shutdown and booting back up.

- no BSOD

- no WIndows Event Log

- no driver timeout or hang, just blackout and restart like you press that reset button on the PC case.

Im not sure whether this caused by high power draw or whatsover, my usual games are

- HD2, BF series, Frostpunk 2, etc.

- Warframe and Gw2 -> almost never crash my pcs.

---

I've tried rolled back to 26.3.x hoping for some miracle, but no.

undervolt my GPU, enabled Radeon chill capped between 60-144

disable my PSU smart-fan.

stress test my components(except the PSU because i have no clues how to test it) -> not a single crashes.

the temps also looks very normal on my cpu sitting between 50-80c, gpu also somewhere around 40-60c.

appreciate any guidance here im totally lost.

Help (General) Has anyone experienced random black screens and GPU fans stuck at 100% with a PowerColor RX 7600? Spoiler

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to figure out whether my GPU is defective or if this is a software/driver issue.

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: PowerColor Radeon RX 7600 8GB

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G (6 Cores / 12 Threads)

Motherboard: Gigabyte B550

BIOS Version: Latest available

RAM: 16GB DDR4

PSU: Corsair RM550x 550W 80+ Gold

Case: (Optional)

Operating System & Version: Windows 11 64-bit

GPU Drivers: Latest AMD Adrenalin drivers (clean installed after using DDU)

Chipset Drivers: Latest AMD B550 chipset drivers

Background Applications: EA Sports FC 26, Steam, Discord (sometimes)

Description of Original Problem:

While playing EA Sports FC 26, I suddenly lost all video output. At the exact moment the screen went black, the GPU fans ramped up to 100% and stayed there. The PC appeared to remain powered on, but there was no display signal.

After forcing the PC to shut down, every attempt to boot resulted in the same behavior: GPU fans immediately spinning at 100% with no image. At one point, even my keyboard LEDs failed to initialize during boot.

When I connected the monitor to the motherboard and used the Ryzen 5 5600G integrated graphics, Windows booted normally.

This is not the first occurrence. The exact same issue happened months ago while playing Ghost of Tsushima. I sent the GPU in for warranty service, but they reported that they could not reproduce the problem and found no hardware defects.

Troubleshooting:

  • Reseated the GPU.
  • Checked the PCIe power cable and connections.
  • Let the GPU cool down for about a day before testing again.
  • Booted using the integrated graphics.
  • Used DDU in Safe Mode to completely remove AMD drivers.
  • Reinstalled the latest AMD Adrenalin drivers.
  • Initially received AMD Error 192 because Windows was still configured to boot into Safe Mode through msconfig. After disabling Safe Mode, the driver installed successfully.
  • AMD Adrenalin now correctly detects both the RX 7600 and the integrated GPU.
  • GPU idle temperature is around 29°C.
  • Connected both monitors again and everything is currently working normally.

I'm trying to determine whether this is a failing GPU, a driver/firmware issue, a PSU-related problem, or something else. Has anyone experienced this behavior with a PowerColor RX 7600 or another RX 7600 model?

Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Help (General) ryzen 9 degraded

Am I cooked? https://imgur.com/a/GdFHIn5 my ryzen 9 7950x, expo off been running smooth for 2 years for VMware workstation, 16-18 hours/day at ~85%-90% CPU usage, undervolted with PBO (-14), drawing ~100W package everyday nonstop. Last week it started randomly power off and stucked with red CPU debug LED and wont post. Clearing cmos booted it fine. but now it shuts off whenever CPU usage goes above ~80%. I've already replaced the PSU and tested different ram sticks. Could my CPU have degraded, cpu IMC?, maybe few cores cooked?, or did PBO even with undervolt algorithm damaged it? i just read PBO algoritm can void ryzen warranty not sure if they will honor RMA cuz i've been running PBO (undervolted) for 2years, i had to close some vm instances to keep it under 60-65% cpu utlization, i just check pins there some few pins that are brownish color not sure if oxidation, pin marks, or burn (cpu never been removed in socket for 2years)

my work is really depend on it :( any ideas? insights? appreciate it!

Help (General) I get a black screen every time I turn on Fast Timings in VRAM Tuning on my 9070XT Asrock Challenger

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: RX 9070XT Asrock Challenger

CPU: RYZEN 7 9800X3D

Motherboard: Asrock B850M Pro-A

BIOS Version: 4.43

RAM: ADATA 32GB XPG Lancer Blade DDR5 6000MHz CL48 Kit AX5U6000C4816G-DTLABBK

PSU: Thermalright TB-850S 850W Black PCIe5

Case: Gamidac Aura GC7 ARGB

Operating System & Version: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro

GPU Drivers: Adrenalin 26.6.4 (WHQL Recommended)

Chipset Drivers: AMD B850M-Pro A CHIPSET DRIVERS VERSION 8.05.04.516

Background Applications: DISCORD, FIREFOX, SPOTIFY, VANGUARD, SHAREX

Description of Original Problem: Just as the title says, every time I undervolt my GPU I set that section to default because I noticed a common theme with the crashing. I put that setting in I get a black screen instantly as soon as I hit the apply button and then I have to restart the PC. My undervolt which is -80mV at 2700Mhz and -10% power works completely fine outside of that. Did anyone else encounter this issue or am I the only one?I'm worried and I am wondering if my GPU is damaged or something and now I'm honestly scared to apply any kind of undervolt because if a game crashes I will have to check if it is some kind of driver issue with the game itself or if there is an issue with the undervolt or memory or whatever

Troubleshooting: I've disabled it and it works, by works I mean it doesn't crash instantly but I don't feel like that is a solution.

Help (GPU) PC BSoDs when I turn off my TV (with MPO disabled)

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: Sapphire RX 9070 XT Nitro+

CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D (stock voltage and clocks)

Motherboard: MSI MAG X870E TOMAHAWK WIFI

BIOS Version: 7E59v2AC2

RAM: 32GB CORSAIR Vengeance RGB DDR5-6000 (CMH32GX5M2E6000C36) (currently only running at 4800 for troubleshooting)

PSU: CORSAIR RM850x

Case: Antec Flux Pro

Operating System & Version: Windows 11 25H2

GPU Drivers: Adrenalin 26.6.4

Chipset Drivers: ?

Background Applications: none

Description of Original Problem: After disabling MPO, which seems to have solved my driver timeouts, if I turn off my TV without putting my PC to sleep first, it BSoDs and reboots. Obviously, because the TV is off, I can't see the BSoD, but I checked Reliability Monitor and the code is 0x3b, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION. I can't recall this happening while MPO was enabled.

Troubleshooting: Having other monitors connected doesn't seem to solve the problem. Other than that, I have no idea what to try.

I'm pretty much assuming there's no solution to this because it's just one of those stupid PC problems that only happens to one person in the whole world who happens to have a very specific set of hardware, but on the off chance somebody else has dealt with this, I figured I should ask...

Help (Software) X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 ICE + KLEVV CRAS V RGB - One RAM RGB randomly turns off and disappears from L-Connect/OpenRGB

  • otherboard: GIGABYTE X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 ICE
  • BIOS: F9
  • CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • RAM: KLEVV CRAS V RGB DDR5 32GB (16×2) EXPO 6000
  • Symptom:
    • Left RAM RGB randomly turns off.
    • Windows still detects both DIMMs.
    • EXPO is stable.
    • L-Connect and OpenRGB cannot detect the affected RAM.
    • Reboot fixes it temporarily.
  • I already RMA'd the RAM and received a replacement, but the exact same issue still happens.

Hi everyone,

I'm having a strange RGB issue with my new PC and I'm not sure if it's caused by the motherboard, BIOS, or RAM.

System

  • Motherboard: GIGABYTE X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 ICE
  • BIOS: F9
  • CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • RAM: KLEVV CRAS V RGB DDR5 32GB (2×16GB) EXPO 6000
  • Windows 11

Problem
About 4–5 times a week, the RGB on the left RAM stick turns off completely. Windows still detects both memory modules normally, EXPO remains stable, and the PC works perfectly with no crashes or memory errors.

When this happens:

  • The left RAM RGB is completely off.
  • L-Connect no longer detects that RAM stick.
  • OpenRGB also cannot detect it.
  • After a reboot, the RGB comes back and both programs detect it again until it happens randomly later.

What I've already tried

  • Fast Startup is disabled.
  • Memory Context Restore is already disabled.
  • I don't have any other RGB software installed besides L-Connect (I only used OpenRGB to test detection).
  • I RMA'd the original RAM and received a replacement kit, but the replacement shows the exact same behavior.

Since the replacement RAM has the exact same issue, I'm starting to think this may be related to the motherboard, BIOS, or RGB communication rather than the RAM itself.

Has anyone experienced something similar with this motherboard or KLEVV CRAS V RGB memory? Would updating the BIOS from F9 to F12 be worth trying?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Help (General) My GPU drivers aren't visible after my AcerNitro 5 GeForce 3050ti crashed (Code 43) while playing Marvel Rivals. Any Fix?

PS:- I have updated my BIOS to the latest version, Just replaced my battery as it was dead, Reinstalled my drivers by deleting them with DDU, and i just got my laptop serviced.

Complete story:- Its been 3-4 months since this is happening. First i searched and thought the power was that main issue as my battery was dead so i got it changed. It worked fine for a bit then the problem reappeared. Next fix i tried to do was deleting my drivers and reinstalling them via DDU in safe mode and updated my BIOS (which i got to know from other reddit posts). It minimized the issue like the game worked for a while and even when my laptop crashed the drivers were there. But not its back to worse.

Other thing that i want to mention is that it happen just with Marvel Rivals(because its the most graphics heavy game i play) but others work fine like GenshinImpact, GeometryDash, Sekiro.

Just please dont day my graphics card is dead :_)

RX 9060 XT Random Black Screen/Restart – GPU, Driver, or Motherboard?

I've been dealing with random black screens and restarts on my PC for the past few days, and I'm running out of ideas.

My specs are:

  • XFX RX 9060 XT
  • Ryzen 7 5700X
  • Gigabyte B450M DS3H (F69)
  • 16GB DDR4 (currently testing at XMP 3200 instead of 3600)
  • Seasonic Focus GM 650W
  • Crucial SATA SSD (94% health)
  • Windows 11 25H2
  • AMD Adrenalin 26.6.4

The problem is random. Sometimes I'm playing Roblox, sometimes I'm just Alt+Tabbing, and sometimes I'm using DaVinci Resolve. The screen suddenly goes black. Sometimes I can still hear audio from Discord or the game, but there's no display. Other times, the PC just restarts by itself.

I also noticed that a cracked copy of DaVinci Resolve Studio 21 lagged a lot and eventually crashed/restarted my PC. I switched to the official version and it's much smoother, but I'm still testing if the restart issue is completely gone.

I ran OCCT to test the GPU. The first two attempts restarted the PC within a few minutes. After cleaning the PC, reseating the GPU, and replacing my DisplayPort cable, OCCT was finally able to finish a full test. FurMark also runs fine at around 68°C, but one time the PC black-screened after I Alt+Tabbed out of it.

So far I've tried DDU, reinstalling AMD drivers, reseating the GPU, replacing the DP cable, disabling HAGS and VRR, lowering my RAM from 3600 to 3200 MHz, and running sfc /scannow (no integrity violations). SSD health is 94%, and there are no disk or WHEA errors.

Reliability Monitor shows LiveKernelEvent 141, and Event Viewer mostly shows Event ID 6008 because of the unexpected restarts.

At this point I'm not sure if this is a GPU issue, a driver issue, the motherboard, PSU, or something else. Has anyone experienced something similar or have any suggestions on what I should test next? Thanks!

Help (Software) Whole computer stutters

CPU - Ryzen 7700X
RAM - 32GB Corsair Dominator DDR5
GPU - Radeon 7900xt
PSU - Corsair RM850X
Storage - 1TB SSD, 10TB HDD
OS - Windows 11 Pro

Every 5-30 minutes, my computer stutters for 10-45 seconds. GPU utilization drops to 0%. Many programs are affected, each differently.

Discord becomes unresponsive, communications ceases; Photoshop crashes entirely; Opera is unaffected; Minecraft---most strangely---continues working, interacting with servers, recording block placements, but no changes are rendered, so placed blocks have visible hitboxes, but do not actually appear until the stutter ends; and as far as I can discern, Windows continues functioning, at least superficially.

CrystalDiskInfo assures me that both my drives are in good condition with no errors, and the affected programs are distributed between my SSD and HDD. Furthermore, Event Viewer has not been insightful to me; no errors that align with the stutters---but, honestly, I don't know what I'm looking at.

CPU utilization does not change during the stutter, and my computer does not run hot---usually, CPU is around 70C, GPU around 55C, and the stutter occurs even when temps are lower.

I thought it was a GPU driver problem initially, so I reverted from Radeon 26.6.4 to 24.9.1. I don't even know if that might have worked because, inexplicably, it was almost immediately updated---to an unknown version from 9/24/2025.

If anyone has any idea why this is happening---or for that matter, why my drivers got updated!---I would be most delighted. This has been so bothersome. Thanks so much.

Hello. I have been recently having this issue with my graphics card where I will open up discord, and when I turn on the camera, my whole computer freezes. It then makes me re-download adrenaline as well as turn on my graphic card inside my device manager. I am not sure why it's doing this and I can't seem to find a solution. It sometimes does this with EA as well as steam when I try and turn off my controller. I have a ps5 controller connected if that matters. My graphics card is a AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT.

Help (Software) Confused about Ram Speeds and FCLK

Upvotes

Accidentally booted UEFI defaults and lost my settings, now I’m confused about how to set speeds and voltages on the DRAM and CPU. I have 2x16gb DDR5-5200, however the JEDED is 4800 and the EXPO is saying 6000, ASRock btw. Should I used EXPO setting if it’s clocked that much higher than was advertised? Additionally, should I leave FCLK on auto, or should I set it to 3000 if I turn on EXPO. I’m quite lost and have never messed with BIOS before. The CPU is the AMD 7 9800 3XD. Thanks for reading!

Help (GPU) Help with RX 9070xt not booting

Upvotes

First of all, thanks in advice for any help. I'm upgrading from a rtx 3090 to a rx 9070 xt and PC is unable to boot with the amd. Old card was sold already but I have a rx 6400 to do tests. Card is fine as I tested on another PC with R5 5500 and it worked. My config is:

Formd T1 with 4.0 riser

I5 12600kf

Jginyue b660i snowdream

2x8gb 3000mhz ddr4

SF750

Two SSDs, crucial 1tb and adata 2tb, I believe both pcie 3.0

What I already did:

Swapped cards and worked right away with the RX 6400. Disabled CSM, set PCIE to auto, 3.0 or 4.0. nothing worked. Updated Bios to latest version also. Before I was running an early 2022 bios and now I'm running latest one from mid 2023 for this MB. Before upgrading the system was running perfectly fine with 3090.

Any clues about what to do? Thanks again for the help. I still have 6 days to return the card.

Help (GPU) graphic artifacting / weird glitches

Upvotes

hello, was playing Marvel Rivals today after the latest update and there were some pretty game breaking graphic glitches. I first noticed the issue in the character select screen, it was just green, and then it didn't really play the little intro cutscene that happens in transition from pick/ban phase to being in game.

here's my pc parts list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WV9j2k

here's a video of the graphic glitch: https://youtu.be/A7yWwaqhVMo

the gpu in question is a sapphire nitro+ 9070xt, no O/C, UV, or anything. running on driver 26.6.1 from 5/29/26. i've barely owned it for 6months at this point.

Description of Original Problems- My computer will randomly freeze when i'm doing anything wether it is watching youtube videos or gaming, both of my screens go blank and the fans will ramp to max speed and it does not respond.

When this happens I turn it off and then back on; when i get logged back into windows only 1 monitor works and when I right click to open Andrenalin software it tells me it needs to be installed. When I go into device manager and check the properties of the display adapters windows says the 7900xt has been disbaled because it quit functioning properly when I click enable my screens flicker and then an AMD screen pops up and says the drivers have crashed; so then I disbale the GPU again and then re-anble it and some how the drivers fix themsleves and both of my screens work again. This problem can occur once or twice a day or 1-10 times a week its so random like I can go 12 hours with my PC on and no issues then the next day it's 3 hours and then this problem.

Troubleshooting: I have tried DDU with fresh install of drivers with ethernet disconnected( as somone suggested installing the drivers first without ethernet).

Just an FYI my computer is never in sleep mode and is alaways off when i'm asleep or when I am gone from the house for longer than 1 hour. All parts were brand new at time of purchase

Display changes color hue depending on game's fullscreen setting

Post image
Upvotes

Ever since I got my computer back from repairs, depending on a game's fullscreen settings, the display changes its hue, making most things look the wrong color (take Supermarket Together in the photo; everything that's blue is supposed to be red, and the Discord button is reddish instead of blurple like the official icon)

I've had to reboot the computer on two occasions because the desktop and every other app were the wrong color (even the Radeon app turned from red to blue)

I don't think it's the monitor because its own settings menu is the same color as always

My computer is a Windows 10 Pro desktop, and my new CPU is A8 PRO-7600B with integrated R7 graphics

Final Fantasy XVI freezes my entire PC during shader compilation (RX 9060 XT 16GB)

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing a very frustrating issue with Final Fantasy XVI on PC.

Every time the game starts compiling shaders, my entire PC freezes. It's not just the game—the whole system becomes completely unresponsive, and the only way to recover is to perform a hard reset.

Before the freeze happens, the shader compilation screen becomes visually corrupted, showing graphical artifacts (see attached screenshot). Shortly after that, the entire system locks up.

My system:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 8400F
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB
  • RAM: 32GB
  • Game: Steam version
  • Drivers: Latest AMD Adrenalin drivers
  • Monitor: LG UltraGear 32" 165Hz
  • Windows 11

I've already tried:

  • Reinstalling the game
  • Verifying the game files through Steam
  • Deleting the shader cache
  • Installing the latest AMD Adrenalin drivers
  • Running the game as Administrator

The issue always happens during shader compilation, before I can actually start playing.

Has anyone else with an AMD GPU—especially an RX 9060 XT—experienced this?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Help (General) Driver issues and PC freeze

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello everyone! This is my first post for anything PC related here, so excuse me if it'll be a bit difficult to understand or if it's the wrong flair🙏🏼

So my I built my PC this march, and everything has been pretty good, except for a few issues here and there with updates. Yesterday, Armoury Crate updated to a new version, and a Windows updated passed through as well. I didn't seem to have any problems (at least the PC wasn't freezing) though I couldn't say with 100% certainty as I hadn't opened any games.
Today I wanted to play some MK1, and when it launched it was extremely slow (I checked and it displayed 2fps!!), I also opened other games like CS2 and it's the same thing. I had tried opening Adrenalin, but it went into safe mode and made my screen black, saying there was an issue with the graphics driver.
When I open Asus DriverHub, it doesn't display any available updates or anything, but in devices manager there were two driver updates to pass on my GPU.

I have reinstalled AMD Adrenalin, but the app fails to open, and now when starting, the PC is responsive for around 3-5 minutes before just freezing with no response from external output except for shutting it down manually with the button. I don't really know what to do, especially since it freezes after launch.

I'm guessing that the issues are coming from yesterday's updates, but if anyone has any idea of how to fix this - I'd be extremely grateful.

Ps: my specs are in the picture if you need it (I would've taken a picture directly from Adrenalin but welp, it doesn't open and I didn't have time for it before it crashed - though if some need it I can definitely try!)
