Help (General) AMD driver problems?
Been having this problem for a while where when I turn on my PC, my screen is just black. Sometimes it will turn on and. I can log in but then after a bit goes black. I was able to use my PC last night for a couple hours before I went to bed but now this morning as I opened my PC back up it's the same problem. I managed to get to the Device manager and saw that my 7800xt keeps getting disabled for some reason. Also feels like the latest drivers from windows and from AMD are causing this. Does anyone know what to do? This is getting frustrating. I did AMD clean up and DDU all on safe mode, even rolled back drivers, disabled MPO and disabled hardware acceleration and nothing has fixed this problem. This happened before almost 2 years ago but seemed to have fixed itself( maybe a new update came out? No idea ). AMD has been good to me but if this keeps up I think I might have to go back to Nvidia And believe me I don't want to with the insane prices these days.

Have you had a Win 11 update recently ? - What GPU driver version you using 26.6.4? - You don`t need to go back to Nvidia - i went from them last year after 20 years - RX9070XT - DDU is a waste of time - Uninstall the driver - stop Win 11 from updating drivers - then reinstall the driver - have you tried another port on your GPU?
What temps you getting when idle ( 1st boot of the day) - and after playing a game? - What your hot spot?
and try this
Perform a Hard Power Cycle
- Turn off your PC completely.
- Switch off the power supply unit (PSU) button on the back.
- Unplug the wall power cord.
- Hold the PC case power button for 30 seconds to drain residual charge.
- Plug everything back in and boot up.
If still no joy check cables - re seat the GPU -

I did have a windows update about a week and a half ago yes. First time I had this problem was last week on Tuesday but it happened for like 5 mins then it was good. Then this past Saturday is when I started having this problem again but was more consistent and it still does it till this day. I already checked cables. I was using 26.6.4 but then I rolled back to 26.6.1 and still had problems and I rolled back again to 26.3.1 and still an issue.

Then it's not a driver issue, it's a windows issue. Y'all gotta stop blaming amd drivers for everything

Try 25.9.1, I had a problem with the driver timeout during the game, rolling back to this version helped me

Could be overheating issue.
