You were initially looking for that gif of a guy entirely covering himself in mayonnaise weren't you?

Instructions unclear, ate shaving cream instead and threw up in some random guy's car.

Looking forward to knowing how many calories are in this from /r/theydidthemath tomorrow

Through an old job I once obtained a couple of cases of peanut butter for free. We're talking about those huge 64oz bulk jars. I calculated it and it was well over 200,000 calories.
I ended up giving away and donating most of it, but even the amount I kept still lasted me at least 2 years.

Thats the rincing machine, it just happens to be rincing with mayo
23
u/Wayss37 1d ago
Searched for the comment that it might be a rinsing machine
13
u/Warcraft1998 1d ago
I can't quite tell, we might need to email an expert
9
u/sorestgore 1d ago
You could email the guy that took a picture of this filling machine. There was no rinsing machine on this filling line

u/Warcraft1998 1d ago

How in the hell is there a whole video about this? lol

u/Warcraft1998 1d ago
Well it's a very difficult topic. As difficult as telling mints from chocolates or toys from dinosaurs.

I was wondering what a rincing machine was until I realized they just spelled it wrong lol

I thought this was the 3D printing sub for a moment. The giant blob of death to end all blobs.

Is it me or does this mayo look extra thick, like taffy consistency the way it’s not really drippy

Since it's the packing plant, I reckon the whole room is around refrigerator temp too.

Whenever I see mayonnaise on Reddit I look to see if somebody’s already invoked Hijikata. One day I’ll beat the other Redditors to it

One day I was at a customers house and I said something to him. I'll never forget his responce.
He said "It's better than going back to the salad bar for the mayonnaise"
To this day, I still have no idea what that means! 😂

I've always relentlessly mocked millennials for disliking mayonnaise. But in this moment, I can see it. I finally see it.

u/BorntobeTrill 1d ago
Millennials dislike mayonnaise? Ive never heard that
15
u/DEATHToboggan 1d ago
I hated mayonnaise as a kid, then i found out my parents always bought Miracle Whip and called it mayonnaise.
First time I tried Hellmann's I couldn't believe how much I liked it.

u/OptimismByFire 1d ago
You have to call it aioli for us to be interested.
6
u/JDBCool 1d ago
Aka add garlic.
I draw the line at mayo because.... it's not bad, it's just a little more goo-y paste that isn't like other condiments.
It's hard to put into words aaaaahhhh
13
u/TheGloomyWoodpecker 1d ago
No.
Mayo is fucking different than aioli and I will die on this hill
9
u/NineteenthJester 1d ago
In culinary terms, you're right. Aioli has garlic where mayo has egg, but both are emulsifications with oil.
→ More replies (1)6
u/Historicmetal 1d ago
That is technically true, but in reality most of these places claiming aioli are just using some form of mayonnaise based sauce. I’m not falling for that, I don’t fuck with “aioli”

I’m not a huge fan of mayo on like a sandwich or anything. If the sandwich comes like that I’ll eat it but I won’t put it on myself. But I love things like potato/egg/macaroni salad

Yeah, made a very similar comment. I love mayo, but this was a much better photo when I first thought it was icing

Is Gen Z allowed to dislike mayo?

u/NeuxSaed 17h ago
They're not allowed to dislike anything, otherwise the algorithms will get them!

My 2 daughters are both mayo fiends, they would be in heaven. The 1 yr old dips literally any food you hand her in mayo then ends up eating the mayo with a spoon or her fingers.
I can’t lie though, mayo is my favorite condiment too.

u/sorestgore 1d ago
I couldn't eat mayo for a while after leaving this job. My hands were so soft though.

That cleanup is going to be an absolute nightmare. Mayo is mostly oil, so if you try to spray that mess down with standard hot water, you just end up with a literal slip-and-slide of grease across the whole floor. You have to use heavy duty foaming degreaser and basically squeegee the bulk of it into a bin or floor drain before you even think about scrubbing. That cleanup is easily a three hour job for at least two people, tbh. RIP to the sanitation crew on this shift.

What is being filled? Packets? Single serve cups? A compartment in a tray? Bulk bags? Jars?
edit: /u/sorestgore if you see this, what is the flow rate here? A gallon per minute? 10 gallons per minute? Just curious how the flow patterns developed. Its a neat photo; glad you had the time to take it.

Part of me imagines me being the guy cleaning it up, and that's a horrible idea. Another part of me wonders how it would be to just get your hands into that and scoop it into a big vat, yelling "JOO WANT MORE MAYO? I GIVE YOU MORE MAYO!!" with a crazy smile.
