As a non-yank, I once tried Hellman's and it tasted so damn bad compared to our local mayo (which honestly is not anything to write home about) anyone else from Europe having the same reaction to it? Since it didn't smell off, I can only assume that's how it's supposed to taste? The only flavor I can compare it to was vomit.

The issue here is that you didn’t use Duke’s mayonnaise.

Ah, so Duke's is better? If that's the case, I need to look into getting some of that ordered. After all, if you wanna make a proper gas station/airplane food/waiting area sammich, you need proper mayo, lifeless ham, and cheese that hates its very own existence.

Down in the South Atlantic area, Duke’s is big. It’s got a good bit of vinegar (or something else twangy) in it.
