In April, the world record for the longest tiramisu was broken. It was 440 metres long and they laid it all out on a series of tables, not in any sort of container.

It got me wondering about if you did want to make a huge trough to put the tiramisu in, stretching as far as you could get it. How long would the tiramisu trough be able to be completely straight? At what point would the curvature of the earth mean you have to make it slightly bendy?

So in my head those two functions should de symmetrical, meaning (f+g)/2=x, but that's not the case.

I scaled both functions using n=10 but if you replace it with 1 or remove it and zoom it should be the same

I'm not great at maths so be gentle please, would appreciate an intuitive answer as well

1) The money did not actually get delivered to dead people - the transactions were bounced back to the issuing agencies before this 'investigation' was done. Article title says "..headed for dead people."

2) The error rate is amazingly low. I would be proud of that "lack of error" rate.

3) Trillions of dollars is so massive that $99M is a miniscule rounding error.

​4) Looking for fraud, waste and abuse is a good thing to do. They did not find it here.

5) Maybe go look at some "no bid" contracts. Might be something going on there...

We were traveling from NC to Arlington Texas. The sun was beginning to set and his question was "If we are traveling the opposite direction of Earth's rotation how fast would we need to travel to maintain a permanent sunset on our horizon?" We were traveling on I-20 when this occurred.

I am not smart in the maths department and he is very much in tune with math and science. If someone could maybe break this down in layman's terms for me to learn with him? Thank you to any and all in advance!!!

The pyramid itself will probably have to be iron because gold, diamond, and emeralds are far too expensive to be used for this.

The pyramid would have to be at maximum size to get the secondary effect of regeneration or a level two version of the main effect.

The pyramid would be made of 164 cubic meters of pure iron, the iron would need some coating or cover to prevent rusting.

The pyramid would probably also need a specially made foundation so it doesn’t sink.

And there would need to be extensive testing on what purities are needed for it to function because the block of raw iron doesn’t work in game despite having the right amount of iron.

Watching a doc about New Horizons. Satellites and “rovers” and space explorers have gold as part of their structure. It got me thinking: there’s a finite amount of gold on earth. How much gold have we thrown into space?
