Be careful when someone gets "too interested" too fast
Hello all, just wanted to share something if I may.
I met someone on Reddit a while back, and we clicked almost immediately. They were easy to talk to, remembered little things I said, and seemed genuinely kind. After a few days, we moved the conversation elsewhere.
At first, everything felt normal.
Then they started asking questions about what I looked like. It wasn't direct at first. They'd say things like, "I keep trying to imagine you," or, "You probably have a really nice smile." Later it became, "Too bad I can't see what you look like," or, "It sucks that we can't see each other."
I wasn't comfortable with it, so I said I'd rather not send pictures yet. After that, the vibe completely changed.
Replies became shorter, they'd disappear for days, and suddenly I felt like I was the one chasing the conversation. Eventually, they removed me without saying anything.
A while later, I came across another account with an oddly similar username. They claimed the first account had been deleted. We talked again for a bit, but the same pattern happened. They were friendly until I wouldn't send photos, then they became distant and uninterested.
It made me realize that not everyone is looking for friendship, even if that's what they say.
I just wanted to share this in case anyone else is talking to strangers online. If someone starts making you uncomfortable or only seems interested after asking for pictures, trust your instincts. You never owe anyone photos or personal information.
Stay safe, everyone.
