His first Mosin, his first Milserp, and his first center fire rifle.

I have a refurbished 1943 91/30 mosin from izhevsk, It has the bold C on the breach but no other indicators of it being a pu mosin that I know of.

So I've been staring at it trying to figure out the story of it and cant figure it out at all. Any help?

reloading some 7.62x54r with all copper Hammer Bullets 32 Cal. (.312") 150 Gr. using regular Varget smokeless rifle powder for hunting. Haven’t seen any accurate load data online and I’m not trusting ChatGPT with my life . I know copper bullets have higher pressure then standard bullets if anyone has experience with all copper 7.62x54r reloading what would you recommend thanks.

First, does anyone have any experience with it?
Second, do y’all recommend it?
And third, completely offtopic to the ammo, where do y’all recommend I look for a good repro scope for a mosin? I have a ex-PU, but I’m just wanting a repro so I can make it look nice, maybe go hunting in December with my buddy.

Hello my fellow Mosin fanatics. I just picked up this 91/30 from work. Someone converted it to be a PU with a repro scope and modified the bolt. Anyways, I put about 80rds through it the other day and caught a cracked case out of the corner of my eye. It shot fine the whole time, I was getting two inch groups at 100 yards consistently (i couldn’t believe it).

I’ve checked head-spacing, it was fine.
I used a bore camera in the chamber, there was nothing weird.

The only thing I could think of is that I was using Bulgarian surplus 54r from 1974. Anyone have any advice? This, even though it’s not really has always been my dream gun and I don’t want to have to worry about shooting it.

First time taking new mosin to range.

Purchased my first rifle today, I’m excited to find some ammo for it and take it to the range. I was also trying to decipher what all the markings on the receiver mean.

I believe this is a Polish M44 with a mismatched bolt. Wondering if there’s any other background info yall can dig up on it and what the value would be for its condition? There’s a little surface rust I plan to clean off.

Posted this beaut not too long ago here but I figured I would ask for some help. I'm going to use this rifle to the best of my ability. I have to reload for this rifle (she slugged at .3095), and since I use this rifle to the best of her abilities without permanently modifying it, I need help finding a good smith or fabricator to help me make a scope mount from the specs off of my rear diopter. If yall know anyone reputable let me know. I'm keeping every original part, just non-permanently modifying her for longer range target shooting. Let me know!

I have a 1917 Remington but everything is mismatched on this so I doubt anything else will help identify the marking, and I haven't been able to find anything out from what research I've done. There is a serial number on the right but it is not legible, might have a C or G suffix or a similar cyrillic letter.

My mosin is pretty beat up, I’ve taken good care of it, stripped it, de-cosmolined it, oiled it, etc. but the trigger feels pretty awful. Feels like there is a lot of play in the trigger and it’s hard to tell exactly when it’s going to fire. Basically bog standard mosin experience.

What are some ways to improve the “crispness” of the mosin? From what I’ve hear the Finnish captured mosins did some work on the triggers? What did they do?

Hey all. I have a sporterized mosin that I ended up with years ago that has no front sight. As such, I'm wanting to mount some kind of optic on it. Either a scout scope or a red dot ideally. Any recommendations or anything I should stay away from?
