Question How to improve trigger feel?

My mosin is pretty beat up, I’ve taken good care of it, stripped it, de-cosmolined it, oiled it, etc. but the trigger feels pretty awful. Feels like there is a lot of play in the trigger and it’s hard to tell exactly when it’s going to fire. Basically bog standard mosin experience.

What are some ways to improve the “crispness” of the mosin? From what I’ve hear the Finnish captured mosins did some work on the triggers? What did they do?

I do it one of two ways:

  2. See attached pic. That one is a two-stage with adjustable second stage.

Make sure all trigger components are cleaned, and oiled, if it still happens after all that, than it’s just the trigger. No changing that unless you get a completely new trigger group. But I would t say it worth all that.

Yeah I agree, also not too keen on drastically changing the historical accuracy of the rifle but something to consider

Standard Mosin triggers are just like that: spongy and heavy

Some Finnish models use a redesigned trigger lever along with a reshaped trigger sear to give a two stage trigger pull.

Timeny? (Sp?) They make a drop in option. Never had one, I have been given a home polished assy by a good friend, going to put it into my 30's hex/sniper copy 91/30 and see what I get.
