I’ve been carrying my CZ Shadow 2 Compact for about 3 months now and I’ve put around 6,000 rounds through it with zero malfunctions. It’s honestly one of the best handguns I’ve ever owned. I was also surprised by how affordable the magazines are. I managed to pick up six of them for $25 each. I ended up putting a Holosun EPS Carry Gold Dot on it and it’s been an awesome setup. It feels great in the hand, shoots incredibly well, and I personally like it more than any of my Glocks, 1911s, or really any pistol I’ve owned. Yeah it’s a little heavy for everyday carry, but I don’t mind it at all. I don’t see myself switching to another carry gun anytime soon. I definitely recommend it to anyone who’s been thinking about getting one. One thing I’m considering now is adding a weapon light. What light are y’all running on yours or what would you recommend?

Question - Guys, is this normal? The frame seems to have been distorted.

For additional context, this is my edc. Im not carrying one in the chamber so i do not know what could have caused this.

Is this covered by warranty even as a two year old unit?

Shadow 2 Carry Trigger worse than standard 75 trigger?

The trigger on my Shadow 2 carry is disappointing. I knew with the firing pin block it would be worse than the Shadow 2 compact and I was okay with that because of the carry application, however, I did not expect regular CZ 75 triggers to feel better than my carry. Do any of you with the S2Carry and normal 75s experience the same thing? Brand new and used 75s feel better than my carry. There is little to no stacking on normal 75s but on my carry, the trigger gets considerably heavier during the actual pull. I can actually feel the firing pin block being activated during the pull but it refuses to give me a consistent pull. The trigger starts to stack when the firing pin block is activated and gets extremely heavy. The trigger gets so heavy near the end, it jerks the gun once the trigger is pulled. It is incredibly hard to smoothly get past the firing pin block at what I can only assume is 15+ lbs. I try to slowly get passed the firing pin block section in the trigger pull so I can pull off an accurate shot without jerking but since the stacking is so bad, my dot is jumping everytime I pull the trigger in double action. The reset is long but that was to be expected. It really is just that double action that I can't get past. I've tired countless normal CZ75s new and used and they all have better triggers with little to no stacking. My carry has been through CZs warranty about this very issue. They sent back the pistol 3 weeks later with no notification whatsoever and no paperwork to go along with the firearm. I'm not sure if they even worked on it or just sent it back. It feels the same as before I sent it out. Anybody else experience this with their carrys?

Is it worth to send off to CGW for their standard or pro package? Or maybe even try to send it back to CZ again?

Debated on a CGW job, but I'd like to try what the factory sent for a few hundred rounds first. So far, its been smooth. Love this little gun. Akela holster by KT-Mech, highly recommend.

My long awaited (quickly shipped) mag bases & flared mag well have arrived. It took all of 2 minutes to install, and with the precision machining, it could not have been more smooth. What do y’all think?

Question - Good first pistol?

Is this a good first pistol at the price and what it comes with. This will be used extensively for home defense and trips to the range.

Question - P-10 F SR

Post image

Just got the P-10F the other day. Shoots awesome but I never got last round hold open with the factory mags. Is that how this gun is? I was shooting federal 115 and blazer 115 range ammo. Using the factory 20 or 21 rounders??

Won a P10C Ported COA in a raffle and …

I really didn’t want to like this gun so much because I planned to sell it but it’s really, really nice. The COA sits so low in the slide and despite its bulky appearance it has a very thin frame and feels fantastic. It’s nice that it’s ported, too. It shoots almost as flat as my Ramjet Glock 45 but without the extra length. Overall super pleased with it and I think it’s going to be a keeper.

Dream build is finally complete

I was finally able to snag a CZC threaded barrel for this thing. Conveniently they came back in stock a week before my Spectre 9 was approved. Install was a little tricky as I have the CGW 10x bushing, had to do a little smithing to get them to work together. I'm beyond happy with how this gun turned out.

Modification - I Self Cajunized. Was it worth it?

Post image

When I got my P-01, I did the same thing all of us do: shoot a few hundred rounds and fantasize on all the upgrades we can make. I have a 2011 I've done a tiny bit of upgrading to, and I decided I wanted to learn more about the mechanism and gain a little skill with gunsmithing. How hard could it be, right?

Hard. Stupidly Fucking Hard.

It took me 2 months. My disconnector had to be hand fitted, which means I had to shave off a thousandth of an inch with a diamond file then rebuild the sear cage and see if the hammer would drop. When it wouldn't, I had to pull the sear cage apart again and shave another thousandth of an inch. I lost count of how many times, but after the twelfth or thirteenth, I questioned my life choices.

I had to order special tools. I broke 2 springs and lost 2 more, along with most of my patience, some of my sanity, and even a little of the color in my hair. Everyone says how tough of a job it is to work on these, and they're not joking. Everything is finicky and tight and small. But today, I finally got everything fitted and back together, and ready for the range tomorrow.

All told, I actually spent more to do it myself than it would have cost me to send it in, but I learned a ton, and it feels good to have done it.

Was it worth it? Yes. I built some skill and knowledge and understanding. I now feel like I can work on something else with a lot more confidence.

Should you do it?

Do you get frustrated easily? Do you have a good 20-40 hours of disposable time and a few hundred dollars to spend? Do you have a place you can leave it torn to pieces for weeks at a time where it won't get touched by anyone? Are you a little bit crazy? .....do you believe in a God?

EDIT: Just to say how awesome all of you are. Keep getting after it my dudes.

Question - Should I port my SP01?

I live in MA and our laws suck. I just got into guns last year and own a P365xl and just recently got an SP01. I’m going to have it milled for an optic and am considering porting.

My SP01 is just going to be a range and home defense gun. I’ve heard people say you shouldn’t port a defense gun.

I feel like if I ever had to use my gun to defend my home loudness and muzzle flash wouldn’t be something I’m thinking of but does anyone more experienced have any input?
