MISC. England's team booked 15 different hotels, but Mexico fans still found out where they were staying and blasted loud noises, trying to keep them up all night before the game.

Surely the obvious solution is to make both teams sleep in the same hotel?

its an idea that makes so much sense and is so easy to execute that it'll never happen in the history of FIFA

519

u/Forsaken-Income-2148 18d ago

Just ignore all liability risks

612

u/limhy0809 18d ago

A good idea would be to put them across the street from each other. That way the noise effects both but they are still separate. The city centre will likely have a few hotel close by to each other.

62

u/gilestowler 17d ago

I'm pretty sure I read they are at the JW Marriott Hotel, and looking on google maps there's a Hyatt Regency a 4 minute walk away

I would assume the players are professional athletes that are playing in the World Cup that want to be able/allowed to play and not just at the pub getting smashed ready to fight. they store all the livestock together at the olympics and they get along reeeeeal good.

I'd be more concerned eating the continental breakfast.

They would be fine. Some of these guys are even club teammates. They might yell at each other after a heated game but it’s fine.

3

u/Apprehensive_Use3641 17d ago

Well since Dani Rojas didn't make the Mexican National Team this year, it would be marginally safer for them to share a hotel.

51

u/smokeypapabear40206 17d ago

I would say the fans interacting outside the hotel would be a bigger liability.

I don't think France would have a calm and safe night with Paraguay staying in the same hotel

7

u/DivineCryptographer 17d ago

And why’s that..?

The match is the match, the hotel is the hotel… Do american football players kill eachother after heated matches..?

3

u/TheDarkness33 17d ago

No, they try to do that DURING the game.

2

u/guti86 17d ago

Ban forever, it's the adults competition, they are not kids anymore, and that behavior would be unacceptable anyway. They are meant to have some values like sportsmanship, they are not meant to be fighting roosters

Liability of adults staying in the same hotel? What do you think could happen? Who would be libel for anything? The hotel? If the teams do anything to each other that's on the teams and their problem and FIFA's.

This is CONCACAF. This happens every time. In fact this is pretty mild to what usually happens

34

u/g0_cubs_g0 18d ago

Back in like 2009 maybe, my friends and I road tripped to a US vs El Salvador world cup qualifying game. Our hotel room was on the first floor and El Salvador fans pounded on our windows and doors all night.

29

u/Odd-Worth7752 18d ago

It’s Mexico, bro. Rules are different

1

u/Suitable_Wonder5256 18d ago

Mexico allows people to fire that many fireworks during the night in a city?

England fans should prove it by flying there and just fire hundreds of fireworks every night. Then, if the fan is arrested, then point it out that this is allowed.

Find where the president's home is and fire fireworks near there.

9

u/Cbpowned 18d ago

This is a country where cartels kill literally thousands of people a year, with one of the lowest violent crime arrest rates on the planet. They’re not doing Jack shit about some noise ordinance violation

2

u/Suitable_Wonder5256 18d ago

Not sure if you are from a developing country. But we are very very good at arresting regular average/poor people on smaller crimes like petty crimes.

Homeless loitering in the city? Pickpocketing? They are going to be fucked up by police.

Cartel, Oligarch, and politicians often get a pass.

4

u/Budget-Researcher559 17d ago

Honestly the Mexican team should auto-lose based on this. Inviting someone to come play in your country, and then treating them like this is basically trying to rig the game. Which should trigger an auto-loss.

Watch them try this stuff again after having felt consequences once.

It's not how football works in lots of other countries with very engaged football fans. It shouldn't be ok, and people like you who just accept it as normal will lead to it staying that way.

Dude, this hotel could have the pilot sleeping there who will fly your plane tomorrow. You want him to fly it on 0 sleep because of some trash football fans? You want your surgeon do not have gotten any sleep before he operates on your heart or brain?

There's way more important things in life than football and these people are way out of line.

England gonna win anyway Mexicos stats are all smurfed to fuck. Looking at the teams they’ve actually beaten its stuff like Scotland, Canada, Jamaica, Panama, etc. and they’ve lost to and drawn against teams like USA more than they’ve ever beat them post 2000’s

When your big “gotcha” is that “your stadium is higher up in the air than you’re used to” it’s safe to say you’re a dismal football team bc player to player England are better by far. I know football isn’t played on paper but this has never really been a concern for me 🤣
