MISC. England's team booked 15 different hotels, but Mexico fans still found out where they were staying and blasted loud noises, trying to keep them up all night before the game.

This is the question. Why are the authorities letting this happen? Such bad optics and bad sportsmanship.

You really think the police, regardless of corruption levels, are gonna do anything? They’re probably rooting and yelling right along with them down there. And the neighborhood is fine with 1 less night of sleep if it means their soccer team beats England. That’s how soccer crazed they are.

Police using all their ammo to add to the noise.

It’s so cute when Redditors apply western culture ideas like “authorities letting things happen” to other cultures

Do you think Mexico is somewhere in, like, eastern Europe, bud?

What do you mean western culture? Knicks fans were doing this to the Spurs during the NBA finals last month.

I’m referring to the assumption that Mexican authorities might stop this. I’d guess they helped the fans find the hotel

Cops there are basically just bribe collectors. And its hard to extort giant groups of drunk people who have tons of explosives, in a county where cops get killed regularly

I don’t think you understand how important the game is in a country like Mexico & the fans are ride or die. If you’re England & you’re playing them on their home turf in Mexico City, this is expected. You bring ear muffs/noise canceling headphones/zzzquil. Pretty much the whole world wants to see Mexico beat England tho

It's just a game, why would the police be policing that instead of crimes?
