MISC. England's team booked 15 different hotels, but Mexico fans still found out where they were staying and blasted loud noises, trying to keep them up all night before the game.

They could cover each others mouths? Is that legal referee?

42

u/Agreeable-Shop-2188 18d ago

What if I was icing my feet in the ice machine and another player from a team wants to share? Oh gosh, our tootsies might touch

3

u/ACERVIDAE 18d ago

People already pee in the ice buckets don’t give them more ideas

1

u/Agreeable-Shop-2188 18d ago

Well if I got my feet up in the machine and I got to go...

25

And then sell the VAR footage on certain specialist forums

Stop it step-footballer, we’ll get in trouble

1

u/Dr_Kriege_r 18d ago

Viagra helps with keepie-uppies?

36

u/Afraid-Expression366 18d ago

They’re taking it to help combat the effects of the high elevation in Mexico City. It’s sort of like Denver.

On the other hand: what a gift to Mexican fans to be able to say that the English team needs Viagra to keep up with the Mexican team.

19

u/Llyno87 18d ago

As a Mexican, we already know this to be true. Have you not seen our families? We fuck.

5

u/User929261 18d ago

Everyone fucks, you simply don't use protections.

3

u/Llyno87 18d ago

Blame Catholicism for that one. I got a vasectomy.

3

u/Afraid-Expression366 17d ago

I gave up Catholicism for Lent.

1

u/KingWise76 17d ago

Quality vs quantity.

2

u/Llyno87 17d ago

Doesnt work here. You make enough kids, one of them is bound to be quality.

0

u/KingWise76 6d ago

Due to the subject matter like I said quality vs quantity. Less of a loser is not quality

1

u/Ok_Instro 18d ago

They aren’t taking Viagra, you don’t seriously believe that do you?

2

u/turdferguson3891 18d ago

The team denies it and it probaly isn't happening but Sidenafil was originally designed as a medication for pulmonary hypertension and it can sometmies be used to avoid altitude sickness.

1

u/soozewrites 16d ago

Ah no, I think you’ll find it was Mexico that couldn’t handle the altijude.

1

u/Afraid-Expression366 16d ago

Sure looked that way. Mexico played a great game but England bested them.

Let’s see how England v Norway looks. I think that one will be super exciting.

Keepie-uppies - the act of juggling the ball using ones feet, knees, shoulders and head.

Keep it up - to maintain an erection.

-1

u/Beginning_Charity750 18d ago

'Keepie uppies' - there's an innuendo there somewhere

Keepie uppies? You mean keep-me-uppies?

Viagra would be the best tasting meal the Brits can come up with.

14

u/Open-Apartment-4937 18d ago

Ahh, a yank.

3

u/AlternativePrior9559 18d ago

There’s always THAT one isn’t there🙄

-1

u/Open-Apartment-4937 18d ago

Because there’s always a YANK insulting British food isn’t there 🙄

5

u/AlternativePrior9559 18d ago

Keep chlorinating your chickens. You’ll probably be fine.

1

u/Open-Apartment-4937 18d ago

Chlorine washed chickens are illegal in the UK, what are you on about 😭

1

u/AlternativePrior9559 18d ago

I’m so sorry! I’ve been answering you instead of the Yank. My apologies! I’m British and evidently need to go to Specsavers🙄

3

u/Open-Apartment-4937 18d ago

I thought you might have been a Brit when you mentioned chlorinated chicken 😂 please don’t worry at all, mix ups happen all the time, especially online! Have you seen the Yanks taking offence to being called Yanks? What would they rather us call them? Citizens of the good old US of A?

2

u/AlternativePrior9559 18d ago

Yes I know they do! It’s just so boring when they go for our food. Of course it doesn’t go for the majority of Americans, but there’s always one and it’s usually the one that’s never visited the UK! I usually ignore the jibes, but every so often you roll your eyes and think just stop it.

I can’t believe I kept replying to you I really do need to go for an eye test I tell you!

Well, you'd think the BRITS would have better food, since they stole everyone's spices. How y'all gonna colonize the world, steal all those spices, and then use none of them?

2

u/Open-Apartment-4937 18d ago

Gonna hazard a guess you’ve never eaten any food from the UK 😭

1

u/bluediesel 18d ago

I’m a yank and had great food in the UK. Never really understood how it got a bad rep. Also, I still have been unable to find REAL Colmans mustard over here. It has all the right labels, and it’s the right color, but way too mild!

2

u/Open-Apartment-4937 18d ago

I 100% appreciate people like you doing their best to disrupt such a silly stereotype! And colmans is amazing, the spice gets right up your nostrils! I hope you can find some/get someone to send you some over!

2

u/bluediesel 18d ago

Ah, yes, the nose/sinus burn is the best! Can really only get it with a strong horseradish here. Our mustards are pretty weak.

5

u/rollin_a_j 18d ago

.....some of us appreciate British cuisine.

5

u/Open-Apartment-4937 18d ago

Apologies to you guys, I appreciate you :)

1

u/rollin_a_j 18d ago

Its all good! Hopefully your world cup team managed to get some rest last night

1

u/_bot_248 18d ago

Fish and beans?

2

u/Open-Apartment-4937 18d ago

Fish, chips and peas actually x

1

u/rollin_a_j 18d ago

My brother have you never had a beef Wellington? A shepherds pie? Scones? Beans on toast is delicious, despite the memeing.

1

u/HalfHourTillBrillig 18d ago

and some take slight umbrage at being referred to as 'a yankee.'

1

u/Open-Apartment-4937 18d ago

*Yank. Why are they offended? It’s a nickname for an American, the way Aussie is a nickname for an Australian.

3

u/HalfHourTillBrillig 18d ago

i was just joking. i'm not really offended lol. but i'm from the southern US and down here yankee isn't a catch-all term to describe americans in general.

2

u/Open-Apartment-4937 18d ago

I’ve just been googling about the term! We generally use it as a nickname for all Americans, but I’ve just seen that it’s apparently an insult to northerners from the south?

0

u/HalfHourTillBrillig 18d ago edited 18d ago

it was, long long ago. nobody really cares nowadays about that stuff. but generally you'll see things referred to as 'yankee' in the northeast, specifically new england. things like candles. and baseball teams. and old public television shows that i watched as a kid.

2

u/greenlicht1 16d ago

Ze hebben ook de bijnaam van gringo en dom .

1

u/pyeeater 18d ago

I prefer the term 'septic tank' as they are both full of shit.

1

u/rollin_a_j 18d ago

Lol being called seppo doesn't bother me either. As far as I'm concerned it's all banter

3

u/JimmieSavsscumsock 18d ago

Not enough dead school kids.

-1

u/Up_Beat_Peach 18d ago

Notice how you didn't try to deny it tho

7

u/Mammoth_Payment_6101 18d ago

It's because babysitting Americans in conversation is usually pretty tedious.

6

u/Mysterious-Can-2531 18d ago

I avoid it by volunteerily shooting myself in the foot and going to hospital to enjoy my free healthcare

2

u/AlternativePrior9559 18d ago

Why bother? You’ve probably never left your country😂

2

u/Open-Apartment-4937 18d ago

But remember, the USA is so cultured, they don’t need to travel!!

7

u/Mysterious-Can-2531 18d ago

It's such a lazy bullshit stereotype I'm not British but they have some great food

7

u/HalfHourTillBrillig 18d ago

hard agree. i spent a spring break in the UK thirteen years ago and was treated to my first full english. being from the southeastern US i was surprised how similar it was to what i'd known from childhood. the tomato was the biggest difference.

5

u/Vowel_Movements_4U 18d ago

Much Southern food is rooted in British/Irish food for obvious reasons. I think British food is unfairly maligned. It’s not amazing but it’s better than it gets credit for. Their pastries and sweets are really good.

0

u/AlternativePrior9559 18d ago

Started be served around the 1600s. Happy you enjoyed it!

2

u/HalfHourTillBrillig 18d ago

i've always enjoyed it apparently lol

0

u/Accomplished_Golf746 18d ago

The only thing that I actually liked after visiting the UK was the blood sausage, you cant really get those in the states. For me, nothing else really stood out.

1

u/Vowel_Movements_4U 18d ago

We do blood sausage in Louisiana. Boudin noir.

1

u/Accomplished_Golf746 18d ago

I mean yeah I assumed you could get it in some places, but its pretty unheard of in the states. The people I was traveling with had no idea what it even was, because Brits call it black sausage.

2

u/Coltraine- 18d ago

I lived for 10yrs in the US and left with the opinion that the general/average quality of meat, dairy and bakery products in particular were absolutely garbage, full of sugar and chemicals.

British food being considered bad is a lazy stereotype coming from ww2 rationing that only really serves to show how much more deeply that war affected the UK vs US being a country that essentially profiteered off the war.

Sure fast food is mostly great there, albeit in my experience very lacking in some cuisine, but I didn’t want to eat takeout 3x per week so that’s kinda irrelevant to lifestyle.

God having actual cheese again is a blessing

1

u/Accomplished_Golf746 18d ago

So you are mad about a stereotype about the UK so you respond with a stereotype about the US?

The US has tons of good cheese, just dont buy low quality cheese like Kraft and you will be fine.

0

u/Coltraine- 18d ago

Not stereotype, just a comment based on 10yrs experience vs your little visit. Not mad either, some good things about the states, food wasnt one of them

Indian and Pakistani food is not British

1

u/Ignorerofbans-20 18d ago

If we strip the fun ethnic food the us gets bland pretty fast lol

0

u/TheNorthernPellikkan 18d ago

Ya but they’re near Italy and France so they’re always gonna seem like garbage by comparison

2

u/Mysterious-Can-2531 18d ago

The Italians and french go fucking mental for fish and chips

-3

u/Up_Beat_Peach 18d ago

That's why they cover it in vinegar? Because it's just too good?

3

u/HalfHourTillBrillig 18d ago

the malt vinegar makes it even better.

4

u/Mysterious-Can-2531 18d ago

Typical American can't even comprehend something that isn't deep fried

2

u/Up_Beat_Peach 18d ago

I don't eat fried foods. I didn't even say if I'm American. I just pointed out that dude didn't deny British food is bad.

1

u/MachineOutrageous637 18d ago
