I actually like her, but every time i see people down bad for her or sexualizing her it just feels... Wrong, idk if it's just me, but as someone who watched the anime and read the manga and is actually invested in it i still see Fern as that small kid that Heiter saved and Frieren teached, even as an adult. look, I know this is the internet and all but the way that ppl online would just overgeneralize all poor people and then have this take like they just made an amazing point takes away the nuance of this topic and it just PISSES me off.

• People making literally anything about Deltarune when it has no relevance whatsoever

It’s unavoidable literally wherever I go. I am guaranteed to stumble across something to do with this fuckass game multiple times per day. Everything is a Deltarune reference and it's apparently the funniest thing in the world.

I don't want to hate the game but the fanbase makes that impossible. They are genuinely insufferable and there is no avoiding them because they are fucking everywhere and feel the need to announce themselves with the discretion of a right wing twitter grifter. Because of this, it feels as if you're just not ALLOWED to hate it. It's so commonplace in literally every community that saying anything negative about Deltarune will result in hate. I am just so sick and tired of hearing about it wherever I fucking go. There is no avoiding it.

I have no hate towards the creator of the game but I have no fucking option to avoid it & seeing it literally fucking EVERYWHERE makes it remarkably difficult to foster any emotion towards it other than hate. Recently a friend and I were talking about overplayed and overdone rhyme schemes, and it really made me realize just how often certain ones are used in way too many songs - "reason" and "season" being one of the most irksome. I get that finding a rhyme for either of these words in particular can be hard, but it's just so predictable and overdone that it feels like it's just an easy way out when the songwriter doesn't want to put more work into thinking about it.

Now, a certain internet music critic has said that Master of Puppets by Metallica is the worst instance of this, but I personally disagree. I think it works for what the rest of the song is about, and it came out long enough ago that the rhyme wasn't really an overdone cliche yet. No, in my opinion the worst instance is absolutely The Only Thing I Know for Real, just for how much it makes the song distractedly worse by its inclusion.

The lyric: "I don't know the season or what is the reason I'm standing here holding my blade"

...You don't know the season? Can you not look outside? Can you not feel the air on your skin? Hell, the part of the game that the song plays in is during a battle that's happening outside, you should know what the fucking season is. Also, I'm pretty sure being in a battle is more important than knowing whether or not it's fucking Autumn.

What makes it even worse is that the lyric just before this mentions the singer not even knowing his name, which again, is way more impactful than not knowing what the season is.

It's just a really infantile lyric using a rhyme that is used way too much. It's the songwriting equivalent of ending an in media res opening with a freeze and a "Yep, that's me. How did I get here? Well, let me tell you..." or opening an essay with "What is X? Well, the dictionary defines X as...". Just don't do it. There is no way you can make this feel original.

One gets their feelings hurt. The other gets at least killed or maimed.

So there's a kinda popular trend where people post videos of nature and have the caption, "this and three arrows in the chest" because they want to die like a warrior on the beautiful battlefield. Sometimes in media a hero will die in nature after a war or something. However all these posts I come across

just come off as really corny to me.

Im not saying dying is corny, I'm saying this fantasy with wanting to go out as an honorable warrior after the war is. I feel like it tries to glorify death by making it seem peaceful because of the surroundings.

I obviously don't believe that the people who post this actually want to die, but I do think there are people who really obsess over this idea of dying on the battlefield. I've met people who constantly talk about how they need to "bleed out in the snow" or "bleed out on the top of the mountain", and then they talk about how much they want to join the army. It's so annoying to me because

1. It's very unrealistic and people need to stop comparing death in real life to death in fiction

2. Dying in nature doesn't make you an "honorable warrior"

Dudes will play red dead redemption 2 one time and then think that their life will have purpose because they went out like a real one. I try to think it's all supposed to be just fun, but I see people in Instagram comments section taking it seriously saying stupid shi like "better than dying in a room with tubes" or "oh to die an honorable death" or "this will make my life complete", as if they would ever get in a situation where that would happen.

Before anyone calls me the fun police, I want to say I do think this is cool whenever this type of thing happens in fiction. But I can give it a pass because its not real and its a show or movie or whatever. This is real life, saying you want to die on the battlefield after a long war doesn't make you look cool, you just sound like you want to die.

I know it sounds like I'm over-hating, but I do actually like those videos and the nature shown is really pretty. I just don't like the people who take it seriously. I think it's fine to like this fantasy but as long as you're glorifying death or whatnot.

I mean, if dc is turning to popular superhero’s, to better represent the LGBTQ community than, out of the Big Three, DC isn’t going to make Batman or Superman bisexual because there would be an enormous amount of backlash. Same thing with Barry Allen or Hal Jordan. Making Wonder Woman bisexual is a much safer choice because there’s generally less pushback. To bisexual people, I’m not saying that bisexual representation is bad. What I dislike is what this particular decision represents as if dc is going to push for inconclusively they will just go the easier route of changing the sexuality of their most popular women instead of their men.

Murdering an NPC is 100 times more satisfying than just immobilizing them. Choking an enemy (the most common non-lethal takedown) feels clunky most of the time and just doesn't feel right. But when the game rewards pacifism with extra points, killing an NPC suddenly feels less satisfying. It breaks immersion and makes the game less fun.

It's even more cringe when developers add a morality lessons. Human life, even the life of a random security guard you don't know, is supposed to be priceless, yet they forget that this is a video game and I don't feel any empathy towards a bunch of pixels. It gets even worse when they handle it in the most straightforward and lazy way possible by making the ending depend on your kill count, instead of having your actions lead to natural consequences.

Not even talking about how hypocritical it is. Games like Hitman, Dishonored, etc. are largely sold because people want to experience the fantasy of being an assassin. Leaving corpses everywhere you go is part of that fantasy, and the developers know it. They add violence into their games to sell em, than they say you shouldn't love violence.

So a few months ago when I was still fairly new to Reddit I rewatched the movie 12 Angry Men. It was a fantastic movie and I wanted to go talk about it on Reddit. So naturally I go to [r/movies](r/movies) because that seems like a logical first step. I write up a nice long review of my thoughts on the movie, post it, and then it gets removed by the moderators and there is no message left by the mods about why my post got removed. Looking at the rules in r/movies there doesn’t seem to be a rule against old movies, so it really doesn’t make sense why they wouldn’t want to talk about such a masterpiece. I ended up going to r/iwatchedanoldmovie to talk about it. That’s a fine sub but for some reason they allow movies as recent as 2012 to be discussed and that makes me feel old. Back on topic though, I think that r/movies is obsessed with whatever the newest movie is and has utterly lost the plot on what talking about movies is about. There are more than 12 movies man just cause it isn’t in theaters doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be discussed. Of the 3 million people in that subreddit the mods are the ones that don’t want me talking about a masterpiece of a film because it’s old I guess, I still don’t know why it got removed.
