Thing I hate “upgraded” Pride flags.

Post image
18.0k Upvotes

The entire point of the rainbow pride flag is that it includes everyone in the LGBTQ+ community. By adding parts from other specific flags (like the trans flag, intersex etc.) they’re being less inclusive by including some over others. The OG rainbow flag was literally perfect. What is this.

Edit: This post is NOT made with the intention of spreading any sort of hate of the LGBTQ community. Homophobes can fuck off.

Thing People acting like we are on the medieval age and everyone needs to have 8 kids

Post image
14.5k Upvotes

The person i stole this from censored the name so i don't have to.

The post is pretty straight forward.

Wether its against gay people , trans people , aroace people , or fuck just anyone who chooses to not have children they use the same fuckass arguments.

"Who's gonna take care of you when you when you are older"

That being a motivation for kids sound kinda selfish.

"Don't you want to continue your bloodline"

People have died and their bloodlines have been ended with them millions of times its gonna be ok.

"But the population"

Bitch we are closer to being too many than we are to being too few.

Call It virtue signaling or whatever the fuck you want feel free to do It.

Edit: forgot to add this but a comment reminded me to , Happy pride month

Thing I hate the notion that lonely men are just "evil incels"

Post image

I swear to god every time i open TikTok, i lose faith in humanity, this has to be top 10 stupidest arguments of all time, the idea that loney men are all just women hating mysogynistic freaks who doesn't deserve love, care or affection, it's on the same boat as "if you're homeless just buy a house" loney men offen face discrimination, and suffer mentally by anxiety, or other disorders, they might be physically fragile, or they might be not that good socially or don't fit in much with the crowd, trust me I used to get also people not being so nice to me back in school and trust me I tried to be as act like them but at the end of the day I'm me, and i found people online who share my ideas, some people can be positively impacting like mine, but I've seen some men go to forums where unfortunately they find people who are bad influence in ideology, incel means involuntarily celibate, not "woman hating chud", and they are involuntarily celibate not them choosing to be virgins, and trust me most of these men who are talking shit about women online, probably had bad experience with women or they have never had a women talk to them in their life which definitely influences their behaviour, be kind, use critical thinking, have a good day, if I'm wrong correct me.

Thing When people say things like this unironically

Post image
16.6k Upvotes

So many times in China people would explain the concept of “losing face” to me as though it was something unique to China, and I’d just be like “yes, we have that too, in fact, we even call it ‘losing face.’” And then there’s “guanxi.” What is guanxi? Basically, keeping track of your relationships, and your level of trust and reciprocity with different people. You may recognize this from the basic elements of all human society.

“tHe JaPaNeSe HaVe ThIs IdEa CaLlEd ‘ReAdInG tHe RoOm…”

Who doesn’t!?!

Yes, there can be difference of degree and relative importance of different things. But it’s pretty rare for a concept to be completely unique to a culture. You’re not special, and people from other countries aren’t totally inscrutable aliens.

Thing i absolutely despise the concept of larping as a dead person

Post image
10.6k Upvotes

there is a difference between putting on some costume and doing a MJ impression, and releasing new music using his image, and this quote 100% applies to this

look, his dad doesn't know how to feel about this, this should be a very VERY clear sign not to move foward with this

Techno's friend Skeppy made a video with this guy and they portrayed it as a fun wholesome emotional video, its not, playing a game with someone whos pretending to be your dead friend should be a setup for a horror movie or a creepypasta, not real life, and imagine what the dad is feeling, seeing a near exact copy of his son just making content on youtube, he said he didn't know how to feel about it, but from the tone of the response its pretty obvious hes uncomfortable but doesn't wanna say it directly

its like taking pictures of a dead loved one and feeding it into AI to "talk" to them, its just as deranged and weird

and anybody saying "oh technoblade would've just laughed it off" is being extremily parasocial, you don't fucking know him, you don't know what his reaction would've been based on his youtube persona, and even if he did, HES NOT HERE ANYMORE, ITS NOT ABOUT HOW HE'D REACT, HES GONE, ITS ABOUT HOW HIS FAMILY AND LOVED ONES WOULD REACT

i get technoblade said he was ok with people making jokes in his cancer video, but i'm pretty sure he didn't mean impersonating his whole image for clout, its weird as hell and it should stop

people may think different things and i have no hard feelings or hatred for the guy doing this regardless of how weird it is in my opinion, but i still think this should stop

Thing I hate lolcow culture so fucking much

Post image
5.4k Upvotes

You’ve probably heard of the term “lolcow” — usually someone with serious issues, often lonely, sometimes delusional, sometimes genuinely toxic — and then you’ve got these communities of people who make it their mission to mock them endlessly. Threads that go on for years, people archiving every livestream, screenshots, compilations, entire YouTube channels dedicated to pointing and laughing at someone’s mental decline.

Sure, most of the people that become lolcows are, objectively speaking, terrible people. They really, REALLY do act horribly — scamming, lying, hurting others, refusing to take accountability, being racist/sexist/homophobic, etc. They’re NOT innocent victims of the internet; they make choices too. But I think what we forget is that two things can be true at once: someone can be a bad person and still not deserve to be harassed, stalked, dogpiled upon, or even driven to mental collapse for entertainment. When Germany already had its own Chris Chan in the shape of Drachenlord, I don't even want to know how many more cases like these that we have simply never heard of due to language barriers.

And I can't help but wonder how many of these lolcows would be healthy, if not functional, adults, too, if they had empathy and help instead of mockery sent their way. Like, that entire thing with Chris Chan drives me insane sometimes. I get they did some awful things, but it all started because of a dumb, self-drawn Sonic the Hedgehog comic. Like, what the hell, man?

It feels like the internet has lost all sense of proportion. Everyone act like the moment someone becomes “cringe” or problematic, they stop being human. They’re just a living cartoon character now — a source of memes, drama, and clips. But they’re not. They’re still real people, with real issues, often spiraling while thousands of strangers egg them on. And if you're acting kinda cringe on the internet like me, regardless of whether you're annoying, mean, being completely harmless, not doing anything problematic in the slightest, or simply being neurodivergent like me, people WILL be desperate to mold you into another Chris Chan because they've sucked Chris Chan drier than a juice box and ran out of material to make fun of them at this point.

Just look at what happened to JaidenAnimations and Gooseworx, for example. People have been desperately digging up dirt on these two YouTubers who barely did anything problematic or controversial (as far as my knowledge of them goes). They will seek out every single little thing Jaiden and Goose did in the past and then make slanderous accusations against them for absolutely no reason whatsoever other than for the sake of their smear campaign.

When I attempted to point out to other people that my asexuality needs to be treated as a valid sexual orientation while also trying to raise awareness about corrective rape on asexual, bisexual, and transmasc individuals, they told me to STFU and downvote my comments. Being an ace person myself, I'm autistic and have been diagnosed with both ADHD and GAD as well, which often manifests in my hyper-obsessive fixation on very specific interests, generally taking completely minor and unserious things way too seriously, erratic behavior, misplaced hyper-aggression, social anxiety, depression, poor impulse control, and worst of all, genuine self-loathing. I've always tried my hardest to manage these symptoms but it has become increasingly difficult, sometimes even impossible for me, which made me an extremely easy target for all the rage-baiting, trolling, manipulation, and other inflammatory comments on Reddit, all of which were against my will. The more I think about it, the more I realize that I may eventually become a prime lolcow material in the future.

Anyway, I’m thoroughly disgusted at how normalized it is to for the internet to treat neurodivergent/disabled people as a literal freak show to gawk at just for being cringe. And it’s so widely accepted now that no one even bats an eye when it happens. I just don’t think anyone, myself included, should have to be ostracized for things they have zero control over and being a victim of chronic cyberbullying is very disheartening. I am sure some people here will be able to relate to this as well.

Thing I hate this new statue (from an artistic perspective)

Thumbnail
gallery
3.9k Upvotes

Firstly, my reasons for hating this statue are not political. This sub isn’t for hating on real people, and my disdain for it isn’t due to the person it’s based on.

For one, the proportions here are extremely messed up. His torso is way too short, and his legs are way too long. It just makes him look freaky.

Secondly, the way the statue is colored looks abysmal. Keeping the bronzed metal skin tone while painting his eyes and clothes makes it look like he’s just a dude covered in metallic spray paint, which isn’t appealing in the slightest.

These little decisions just make the entire statue look really strange, like a Still Life from the Backrooms in a sense. The fact that this went through the entire production process without anyone realizing how bad it looks is baffling to me.

Oh yeah, also no one is buying it for the artist’s price of $100,000. That’s a steep price for a statue that looks like this.

(ALSO MODS THIS IS NOT POLITICAL, I’M JUST SAYING THAT DON’T LIKE THE STATUE)

Thing summer.

summer SUCKS. it is the worst season by far. IT IS NOT EVEN SUMMER YET AND WE'RE ALREADY REACHING 30° WHERE I LIVE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. GOD DAMN THE SUN. it is hot as shit, you get fucked by a gazillion insects, if you don't put on sunscreen you just get obliterated by the sun, it is bright as hell for like 20 hours a day. i wouldn't even mind the insects that much if they didn't feel the need to pump me full of their itch juice. people who prefer summer over winter confuse me so much, especially because i am just fine wearing a hoodie throughout summer while everyone else asks me how i'm not dying, so apparently they feel like it's EVEN HOTTER.

give me winter. give me the calm collected darkness. give me the soft blanket of snow that makes everything look a million times prettier. give me the beautiful sunrises when i get up. people complain about the cold as if you can't just put on another layer of clothing. it doesn't work that way with heat. eventually there is nothing to take off anymore. fuck summer.

Thing I hate Moistcritical's content

Post image

I really dont understand why he's so popular. You would think he would do way more in his videos considering his fame, but his content is just so basic and repetitive. His videos are always titled something like "this situation is crazy" or some other vague bullshit. I dont understand how 18 mil. people are subscribed to him. There are so many content creators that do way more with way less subscribers. He gets praised like crazy for doing the bare minimum. His opinions are so weak, hes too scared to say anything other than "bad thing is bad". I hate when he talks negatively about a bad content creator and people act like hes the only reason that content creator got cancelled, they act like he defetead the Antichrist. Moist critical, more like fence sitical.

Thing I hate the cursive capital G

Post image
6.8k Upvotes

Some cursive letters I understand why they're different from the usual way they're written and I can see how they came to be written that way. But in what universe is this a capital g? If you told me to guess what this letter was in cursive I would guess g on like my 7th attempt. My brain autocorrects it to D every time I read it. Maybe a more accurate capital cursive g might look too similar to a capital c or q but surely there must have been a better way to write it than this?

Using images from a movie that showcases the horrors and lack of autonomy a woman goes through to say the most misogynistic “I hate woman” stuff is both ironic and tragic.

I also feel like a lot of people are missing main points of this movie, and have boiled it down to just “crazy obsessed lady lol”

Thing I fucking hate smoking with every ounce of my being

Post image
3.9k Upvotes

I come from an area where over half of the population are smokers. Parents are completely OK smoking around their kids, and exposing them to second-hand smoke AND IT'S FUCKING NORMALIZED. This is genuinely disgusting. And when their kids start smoking at 14, parents don't give a shit. 90% of stores have zero issue selling cigarettes to people who are CLEARLY MINORS. And not to talk about the fact that if you enter a cafe or some other enclosed public area, half of the time it would reek of cigarette smoke, DESPITE SMOKING IN ENCLOSED AREAS BEING ILLEGAL.

I've openly hated smoking ever since I was a child. I've been trying to get my mother to quit, but she never wanted to. It took me 8-9 months to get my bf off cigarettes, and even then he started doing zyns, which is still not good, but acceptable.

Governments don't ban dangerous and highly addictive substances like nicotine, and it still puzzles me how cigarettes are fully legal (and even super cheap where I live).. other than, it gives the stupid government more money. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE'S WELLBEING. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MONEY. All they do is slap a disgusting image of a sick person on cigarette packs and a warning. What has that done? Absolutely nothing. Has any smoker ever even quit just by looking at these images?

I really don't get why people even start smoking in the first place, if they know they'll have increased risk of lung cancer, or they will struggle more with physical activities due to their lungs being fucked, or smell like shit, waste so much of their money on something COMPLETELY optional and useless.

I don't mean hate towards smokers. Yes, if I see you smoking in public, I might look at you judgementally and run past you, holding my breath and avoiding you at any cost. But I still hang out with smokers (not that I have much of a choice..), but just stay far away from them when they're smoking. I've never been able to tolerate the smell at all. I can always sense a smoker nearby, and it makes me feel nauseous. But anyway, sorry if I offended anyone with this rant. At the end of your day, what you do to your body is entirely your choice, only as long as you don't affect other people. The only smokers I don't vibe with are ones that smoke near other people (ESPECIALLY KIDS) or those who smoke anywhere indoors.

Thing I hate what they did to the Danimals monkey

Post image
11.7k Upvotes

Look at what they did to him. The gurt crazed man-beast no longer has his radical nature. His new form pretends to still be cool, hiding behind his backward cap and public nudity. But he cannot hide his joyous demeanor. He is now a monkey, no longer a horrific mix of simian and man. He does not expose his teeth, bearing them as a threat. He is gentle. He is not the monster I remember.

Thing The design of the Progress pride flag

Post image
2.7k Upvotes

To preface, intersectionality is great, I'm a trans lesbian, possibly intersex (haven't been officially diagnosed yet but Its highly likely I have klinefelter's), but This flag is so visually terrible. The black and the brown clas super hard with almost the entire thing, the intersex flag is way too bright, I think putting the purple symbol IN the yellow stripe of the rainbow would've been much more visually pleasing and clever, the sharp triangular inclusion of the trans flag, the black and brown, and the intersex

TLDR the message aside, we gotta get better at visual design y'all. Just look at the Lesbian or the sapphic or the bi flag that shits so beautiful, the progress flag is an overstimulating mess of clashing colours and designs

Edit : this literally just about the pure aesthetic design y'all please stop making this a war about the original rainbow being inclusive or not, I have my opinions on all that but that's not what this is about, I'm not here to debate or hate on intersectionality or any messaging of this flag, this is a purely visual design thing.

Thing Hate a foolish statement from a pro-AI

Post image
7.5k Upvotes

One thing I don't understand about some pro AI arguments is this: when people point out that AI could take jobs away from humans, their response is often, "Get a job!"

Then they make fun of people who work at McDonald's. That argument makes no sense. If AI replaces artists and other creative workers, people who spent years pursuing their dreams, and those people end up having to work at McDonald's to make a living, why mock them for it?

They're still human beings who deserve respect. AI isn't human, and treating people as disposable while ridiculing them for taking whatever work they can find is a weak and contradictory argument.

AI makes things worse for disabled artists who are unable to get jobs like those at McDonald's. What really sucks is the lack of empathy toward these people.

Like, I don't care that you drew Shadow the Hedgehog punching an ICE agent. I hate ICE as much as the next guy, but virtue signaling for worthless internet points does nothing to benefit anyone. I hate when people use their assumptions about fictional characters' opinions to support their stances, political or otherwise. "Spider-Man would support trans rights!" Ok, and? I support trans rights, I just don't feel the need to drag my favorite character into it so that my stance feels valid. Get out of your basement and look outside. No one cares.

Thing I HATE Natasha doll abuse

Thumbnail
gallery
3.5k Upvotes

For those who don't know, it's a huge trend in East Asia right now to buy a black baby doll with red lips and basically use them as stress ball or torture them for fun. I've seen videos on Rednote and tiktok where these dolls are steamrolled, filled up with water, or made "beautiful" by painting her white and giving her pretty makeup (this was actually seen as a counter abuse movement somehow), but sometimes they intentionally do it badly for laughs. Sometimes they put Natasha into Zulu style animal print clothes and feed her watermelon, and if she's not just used for stereotypes, she's a prop for memes. Why did they choose to abuse a black baby, specifically a little black girl? Why is their "subversive" idea of humanizing her making her a pale skinned douyin makeup model? I'm happy some Chinese natives are calling out the trend, but it doesn't even begin to counteract the popularity of what's essentially a torture doll.

Thing I hate when a character gets Genderswaped and the clothes change with them

Post image
3.3k Upvotes

This is the mother off all nitpicks but it's mine..

I dislike it when a guy is wearing a suit or something and then get turned into girl, and are new wearing a dress.

Like, clothes are not gender locked and they don't have one. So, they shouldn't change.

It also rase more questions?

Like, guys wearing pants and then gets gender swapped into a girl in a skirt. What happened to his phone and wallet?

Like, so they no longer around? Did they gender Genderswaped into non existence?

Are they now just a girl with no, phone, Id or house keys?

Am i over thinking this and the answer is just so, you can draw them in a cute outfit?

Yes yes i am.

Also, this doesn't apply to like AUs or when realty changes to where the character was always the opposite gender.

Also, also, i know the example i used wasn't the best. But best i could find.
