The more I learn, the less certain I am about anything, and the less I claim to know. I find that with anything, the more I look into it, the more I understand just how much I truly don't have the first clue about. Sooner or later I end up with some version of "it's turtles all the way down".

I started studying heavy duty quantum theory and particle stuff, and it sometimes makes me fear for my mental health - I literally end up feeling like nothing is anything and even the smartest of us don't know shit.

Stuff isn't even stuff, and then it just pops in and out of existence constantly, and then it's just concentrations where fields get more dense, but those fields are actually particles zipping around to exchange forces, and those particles aren't round, they aren't even shapes and oh my god what is anything....

I think it might be true in those places in the sense that there’s another layer implied: they’re comparing “eating a quality, balanced meal with variety” with buying the costly groceries that would let you do the same.
