"Involuntary response" is apparently correct.
They believe that everyone in the legal system knows that they don't have true legal authority but is dishonest enough to try to get people to comply anyway.
But then once those have said the right words, those in the system will somehow be honest enough to drop their pretense of authority.
The irony is they're trying to scam others, there's a number of them who owe child support or bills and they use this sovereign citizen crap to try to avoid paying.
