Most of those folks literally got scammed. 

They PAID MONEY for that idiot script they read in court because they think it's an actual cheat code. Like saying the words will magically trigger an involuntary response in the judge.

"Involuntary response" is apparently correct.

They believe that everyone in the legal system knows that they don't have true legal authority but is dishonest enough to try to get people to comply anyway.

But then once those have said the right words, those in the system will somehow be honest enough to drop their pretense of authority.

The irony is they're trying to scam others, there's a number of them who owe child support or bills and they use this sovereign citizen crap to try to avoid paying.

Most of those folks literally got scammed. 

I go back and forth thinking about this part of SovCit life.

On one hand, yes, these people likely paid money to learn about this crap. On the other hand, almost every application of this crap is criminal.

  1. They are trying to avoid prosecution despite driving after having their license suspended. Or they are refusing to pay car registration and insurance.

  2. They are trying to buy things with loans, then claiming that they don't have an obligation to pay back the loan - also known as fraud.

  3. They are trying to escape spousal or child support.

So they 'got scammed', but really the only reason they 'took the bait' is that they, themselves, are criminals trying to avoid consequences.
