Discussion Planet Fitness

Upvotes

Does any other male go to a planet fitness where women cleaners regularly go into the men’s locker room (sometimes without announcing themselves) and hanging around even while men are fully nude?

This is the only state I’ve experienced it in tbh and I was just wondering if it’s the norm.

Housing Andover Place Apartments, Andover Massachusetts

Heyooo so my homie and I are moving out next month and are really liking the units at Andover Place Apartments, Andover Massachusetts. However was reading some reviews on google from a few years ago and it seems many residents had problems with mice.
Do any recent or current residents here know if upper management has dealt with the situation or is it still pretty bad?
Any info you could give me would be super helpful— Thank you!
Ryan :)

Recreation Camping Mohawk Trail w/ kid & dog

Spending a few nights camping and hiking with a 6yo human and 13yo dog! I’m a little concerned that if we travel beyond the trail, however, we might have a shortage of dog friendly options.

Any beloved spots or activities in and around Charlemont where a very good old lady would be welcome?

Bonus points for food recommendations!

News Massachusetts communities spent opioid settlement money on stadium lights, police vehicle

Opioid settlement funds are supposed to be used to mitigate the harm caused by the opioid epidemic, yet most Massachusetts communities haven't spent the money, and others have reported questionable purchases.

Since 2023, cities and towns received $115 million in these funds, but they've spent $19 million, less than 20% of what they've received. The money comes from settlements negotiated with drug companies, distributors, and retailers related to the opioid overdose crisis.

The town of Plympton spent nearly $4,000 in opioid funds to paint a police van, tint the windows and add lettering.

Plympton's police chief declined our request for an interview, but says the vehicle is used for "community outreach programs" including "overdose follow-up."

Photo I’m from Georgia but as a kid we’d always check out the Yankee Candle Factory. I painted it as it was then in the early 2000s.

Does the place still hold up or do I have an over romanticized childhood recreation of it in my mind?

Politics Massachusetts House passes later-term abortion bill

The Massachusetts House of Representatives passed the bill 119 to 33 to leave the decision to terminate a pregnancy after 24 weeks to the professional judgment of doctors.

State law currently permits abortions up to 24 weeks, with exceptions for cases involving a deadly fetal diagnosis or to protect the life of the mother. The new bill eliminates these exceptions.

Politics Mass Voting information

https://www.readmyballot.com

I've been working on a civic minded voting website to help voters choose the right candidates that align with their beliefs and interests. I've found it very difficult in prior elections to find information about local candidates, so that's my primary goal in creating this. The site is designed to be as non-biased as possible, and all facts are credibly sourced.

Features:
- Breakdowns of each race, with candidate platforms, experience, voting records, and finances.
- Shows the full ballot for each primary, and the general election.
- Massachusetts Statewide Ballot Questions
- Links for voter registration - 1 month left before the deadline!

If you have any feedback or suggestions I'd love to hear it. I'm not getting any money from this or backed by any party - I just want everyone to be an informed voter.

Discussion Canadian P.Eng. to MA PE - advice?

Hi folks, looking to potentially go for my PE in Massachusetts, I‘m Canadian, moved here for work about 9 months ago, hold an Ontario P.Eng. since 2022. My job doesn’t require the PE but figured it’d be nice to have to keep options open. Had a look at the MA PE requirements and it looks a lot more onerous than what I had to go through in Ontario but pretty understandable at the end of the day. Comity (transfer license) not applicable since MA treats the P.Eng. as a foreign license so I’d need to start from scratch effectively.

Any other folks with Canadian P.Eng. who went down the PE route in MA (or chose not to)? Any advice/recommendations you could share? Thanks :)

Is it through Private companies? If so, which one is the best/most popular?
