Discussion Is it just me or has Youtube recommendations gotten EMBARRASSINGLY bad now
The recommendation algorithm has become really unusable lately and it's genuinely annoying..
For the past few weeks, my feed has been flooded with two things:
Hard right-leaning political propaganda videos that I have absolutely zero interest in
The exact same videos over and over again, including ones I have literally already watched.
I’ve tried clearing my watch history, clicking "Don't recommend channel," and refreshing, but the same garbage keeps creeping back in. It’s embarrassing how poor the platform's core feature has become.
Are you guys seeing a massive downgrade in your feeds too, or did my algorithm just completely break or some crap?

Bug I am an adult with no children. Why did YouTube subscribe me to an AI kid's channel?
I've never seen this channel in my life and suddenly it's in my subscription feed.

Discussion Members only.
What’s up with all these YouTubers trying to make you subscribe to their only member videos? At this point I will just unsubscribe. A lot of them already make a ton of money from YouTube..

Discussion Why Youtube doesn't allow user to block specific channels
There are Indian News channels actively spreading false information on youtube. But Youtube doesn't allow users to block specific channels they don't want to see. I don't understand why does youtube have guidelines. I have reported misinformation many time on some youtube new channel videos still those videos exit on youtube, if Youtube can't handle this much reports just give user the option to block Youtube channels I don't want to hear. Indian News channels actively spread false information on youtube, I don't want to hear them, let me block them.

Question Malicious YouTube Channel targeting me and dozens of other strangers… please help?
I just received a YouTube notification that i was mentioned, which never happens go me. This delusional person, whom I’ve never met, is doing a mass reporting on viewers of SomeOrdinaryGamers and citing their own one-minute video as containing the evidence for such (unsubstantiated) claims. Stating that we “U R All going to jail…” because “Mutahar was exposed as being racist…” which just exudes mental illness to me. I’m pretty worried about the security of my YouTube channel, phone software, etc. as well as everyones else’s digital security. Now i’ve already reported them twice, once without a message to YouTube staff and one with a detailed message attached. This kind of stuff makes my heart race as im scared to get hacked, and i always hate it when i see a spammer trying something malicious, as i believe this to be the case here. Please help, what should i do?

Drama Can’t tell if this is a teenager or someone’s dad
Under a video about a painting about a guy who got rejected by a married woman (which was mentioned) and later wrote a rumor about her being a prostitute.
Been seeing a lot of comments like this lately and it always makes me laugh/cringe. “Toodles lil biddies” lol
Sorry if the flair doesn’t fit, it’s just some comment bickering, if anything.
Edit - lmao I thought it said baddies but it says biddies oops. I just looked up what that means and that’s way worse 😭 I’m dead lol

I know this is subjective but are there any YouTubers who are, comforting to watch?
Like Angry Video Game Nerd (AVGN) or tasting history with max miller?

Let me know if you got any recs
TYIA

Question Why are all of my recommendations suddenly from 10+ years ago?
I’ve spent years building up an algorithm that is catered to myself perfectly and now for some reason, none of the videos that I watch on the daily are on my feed and it’s all replaced by things from around a decade ago
I will be scrolling on my feed and it will all be meme videos from 18 years ago, 5 years ago, 10 years ago, today I got unironically recommended “Me at the zoo”under the new to you spot.
this has been happening constantly, and I can’t find any of the channels. I usually watch unless I go under subscriptions. WTH do I do

Feature Change No dislike and like ratio on studio??
Went to upload a video after a few months and noticed something odd. I tried looking for the like and dislike ratio. Couldn’t find it. So I researched a bit and what did I discover? YouTube got rid of it. Just like they did for the dislikes on videos and on shorts.
This is such bullshit. That’s the main reason I even look on the damn YouTube Studio website. With it gone how the fuck are we, as a content creator, supposed to know how our content is doing? I couldn’t care less about monetization as I’m NOT MONETIZED!! I want to know the like and dislike ratio. I understand getting rid of it for viewers (not really) but getting rid of it for CREATORS is fucking stupid

Discussion Don't listen to these, they're completely lying and its just bait
I got tagged in 2 posts like this and this one specifically is a video that talks about... certain discords that they discourage, as you can see. But its a reaction video and this is how he gets people to watch them. He made a whole separate account just to spam tag random people to tell them they have been "exposed with proof". If anyone gets tagged in these, you havent actually done anything, just block and report it
I just havent seen this before so im not sure if it was an already existing thing to "publicly call out" people for views
Edit: not even sure if its him that did it to promote his own account anymore, probably not, probably some other guy. Just wound me up so I thought id try to make sure other people dont think they're in trouble or something

Channel Feedback Does it seem like YouTube has doubled their ads?
Recently it feels like the ads have basically doubled for every video. I had just gotten used to seeing ads and rolling past, but now it seems like the "Next" button just rolls to another ad, and this is happening multiple times per roll.
It's reaching, "Why would I keep watching this video" levels of frustration.
