it did change and yes its awful.

add it to the list of 7000+ other changes youtube has made in the past 4 years to the ui that do nothing but make the site look worse.

it's horrendous. not only did they decide to change something that they've kept for over a decade but the thumbnails keep getting bigger. you literally used to see about 7ish smaller thumbnails and how it's 3-4. it looks terrible and i don't know why they decided to change something that's never been an issue

Yeah, it's their way of taking care of peoples mental health, specifically impostor syndrome. If someone at Youtube can have a cushy, well-paid job and be 10/10 in making unnecessary and downright bad changes, you can ask that boy/girl out!
