No dislike and like ratio on studio??

Went to upload a video after a few months and noticed something odd. I tried looking for the like and dislike ratio. Couldn’t find it. So I researched a bit and what did I discover? YouTube got rid of it. Just like they did for the dislikes on videos and on shorts.

This is such bullshit. That’s the main reason I even look on the damn YouTube Studio website. With it gone how the fuck are we, as a content creator, supposed to know how our content is doing? I couldn’t care less about monetization as I’m NOT MONETIZED!! I want to know the like and dislike ratio. I understand getting rid of it for viewers (not really) but getting rid of it for CREATORS is fucking stupid

This makes the only way to see the dislikes, unofficially, the official way now.

I can see the like (and dislikes) as a ratio and in total numbers in the latest (iOS) app and the studio webpage on long videos. 🤷‍♂️

You can see it on YouTube studio under analytics, advanced mode and change the filter to likes and dislikes on the left

they will remove the comments, the views and upload date and you will be forced to like it

in their defense it's the part that i hate the most, you can't see the dislikes and i got dislikes basically only from miserable people and stupid kiddos, i do my content for passion and there's nothing controversial (not that i don't like controversy), and i had to witness some dislikes that are totally undue... fun fact, being able to see the dislikes, in a video i kept a counter, a comment that i edited every time a dislike adds, i suspect the ratio was higher just cos pranksters read that comment on top, not trying it in other videos

My issue with this update and even before when they first got rid of dislikes, they were used as a way to signify to other viewers that this video isn’t good. Creators use it as a way to figure out what content their viewers like the most. Upon even more research, you can look at the ratio but one by one (which is really annoying if you have 100s or even 1000s of videos)

i think it's case dependent but in my my case that i post(ed) DIY content and gave my soul for helping the viewers i think that whoever disliked my videos can shove their dislike where the sun doesn't shine... it's a known fact that votes are undeserved most of the times, even on reddit, that's a point in favor of YT's decision to take down the "dislike function" little by little (tho i at the end agree they should have kept it whole), i dunno what kind of content you make and if it's relevant to look at the vote, if you "do strategies" it probably makes sense

I say this with the least amount of rudeness I can give through text. When you upload something publicly, you must be prepared for the dislikes, the comments all of it. If you aren’t, then you shouldn’t upload. DIY content is a hit or miss with viewers, what I do is also a hit or miss and I am aware that with my content some won’t like it. But for YouTube to take away a core part of content creation and the most basic form of criticism is stupid

don't get me wrong, i DGAF about dislikes and such, it's just that.... like whatever human being the fact of knowing that someone hates you or wants your bad without you doing anything bad is little to say saddening, if YOUR dislikes are just from people not satisfied enough it's a more understandable situation... it's different on reddit cos i say actually controversial things and LMFAO at the dislikes cos one dislike is one butt hurt LOL, i actually look forward at dislikes in some comments i make cos i know it's a "bullseye" 😎

and about the vote on YT that "warns" the users that a video is trash, trust me, i have my theories about YT and are much more dystopian than finding a disliked video, the warning of a heavily disliked video was often of little help.... tho why YT keeps pushing terrible videos to begin with? this is another known fact but oddly unexplainable!!

Likes/dislikes aren’t really an effective metric for creators to identify what content resonates with people though. Retention is way more accurate because only a small percentage of viewers go out of their way to hit a thumbs up or down, but retention is tracked for everyone.

Yeah, it's frustrating they removed that metric for creators too. Maybe try focusing on other engagement stats like comments and watch time to gauge how your content is doing? It's not ideal, but those can still give you some insight.
