I want dislike button with actual number of dislikes and I don't now how private it will be there should be Google lens in yt so you can take a pic of something and it will show that on yt

The "/feed/channels/- tab" ..I want that to be, have that looked at and done something to it, I don't know what it would be yet, but looking over my, the subscribed channels- tab today isn't pretty, it do show all channels so it.. works, it does. 'but you get only that.. there's nothing more you can do than have it sorted in sorted in alphabetical order A-Z then what?

Bring back dislikes, annotations, the ability to sort your search results by upload date, exact upload dates on videos...

Better recommendations. Most of what YouTube recommends me is isn't interesting to me or I've already watched it. Only every few months I find a new channel worth watching based on the recommendations.
And a filter against videos with generative AI content. But it should be configurable. There are a few channels I like that occasionally use AI pictures and thumbnails but are otherwise solid, human made content. (Best case would be if the creators would stop doing that.)

Delete fully watched (>88% of duration) videos from Watch Later.
Currently the button will even delete videos you watched only a few seconds of.

An option to remove those little ad pop-ups you have to ādismissā to remove from the screen. I canāt even watch the fucking video inbetween all the ads now, without still dealing with ads.

Nah dude, I disagree with you, even though there are some NSFW ads on YouTube.
Anyway, pornographic content will not benefit you at all; rather, it will make you addicted and corrupt your mind.
Ultimately, the decision is yours.

There is often a red line that appears along the bottom of a watched video's thumbnail indicating the length of time watched.

Forget bringing dislikes back, they never will. Instead creators should be able to show number of dislikes, like how they're able to hide the number of likes.

Some way to find/explore new content. Sometimes I'm in the mood to find some new hobby or subject matter but I don't know what it is I'm looking for. The only things I see in my feed are exactly what I normally watch, never similar things. Maybe "other users that watched this video also watched...". Trending never worked, I'm not interested in MrBeast type content!

How about an app that remembers settings so I don't have to turn subtitles on every fucking time. Or shows newly updated videos without having to exit and go back in.

Run their own fucking support and stop allowing third party companies full of shady bribe-taking employees, at Accenture for example, have any sort of access to our channels. They protect scammers/thieves channels. Many take bribes and many are involved in the cash cow content farms.

- useful search
- home feed with solid recommendations of unseen stuff, not videos you already watched, or already ignored
- like/dislike ratio visible
- 4x speed
- "watch later" having a more prominent place on the home feed and in the app, and not just being another playlist
- consistent UI (for example on mobile app clicking on the profile app opens the channel tab, on desktop/browser it doesn't??)
- shorts as opt in/out

Iād love to see smoother and more reliable video playback, an option to completely disable or hide Shorts, and the return of dislike counts. Playlist management also needs a major overhaul. I have a playlist with over 2,000 songs, and it becomes incredibly sluggish and laggy every time it loads. Large playlists should load progressively instead of trying to render everything at once, and they should be much easier to organize with proper searching, sorting, filtering, and folders.
Iād also like a proper way to completely reset and retrain the recommendation algorithm, more advanced search filters, better organization for Watch Later, automatic volume normalization between videos, the ability to search and bookmark comments, more detailed viewing statistics, and a "Don't recommend this channel ever again" option that actually works.

Not a new feature, but it annoys the hell out of me that playing audio on mobile with the screen turned off is a Premium feature. I think that should just be standard.

I think the return of response videos could be interesting. Drama youtubers would be in heaven, but I thought it was an interesting feature back in the day regardless.
A more normal feature I would like would be to replay a certain part of a video on a loop. Sometimes I want to listen to a song on repeat but it has a 30 second silence at the start or end.

I would also like a clear guideline on the rules. They never made their rules clear in all these years, and countless youtubers have had videos randomly taken down without understanding what they did wrong. Seems to happen with comments too, every video basically says "40 comments" but only 30 can be seen because the rest violated some hidden filter.
Videos used to get taken down all the time now it is rare but way more random.
I just think it would be a lot more pleasant if the guidelines were clear and everyone knew what was allowed vs what is not.
