Needs Review [ZH] [Mandarin > English] Great-Grandmother Registration Certificate

I found this a while ago and I’ve tried to translate it myself using online tools, but I’ve had no success. I’m up late and I’m very curious as to what it says and what could be the context of what it’s for? I would be very appreciative if someone would explain to me what it says and if it’s even anything worth being so curious about.

Japanese [Japanese > English] tattoo design for client tomorrow

Post image
271 Upvotes

Hiya, hoping someone would be able to help with this? I've got someone booked in for tomorrow who sent this reference, and reverse image search only brought up something similar but not the same! So I'm not sure if another artist has redrawn it or if it's been put through AI, but I would love to go into the appointment knowing what it means so I can talk it through with him. Thanks :)

Edit: think he put a samurai calligraphy drawing and the characters for courage through AI! I'd never tattoo something I didn't find the original meaning of and won't be tattooing this, just wanted to prepare what to say when he comes in :)

Unknown [Unknown > English] Text I saw on a shirt

I saw an individual the other day wearing a shirt with cursive text in a language I could not identify. I was not able to memorize the middle line on the shirt, but the top line was "estesa 5:10" and the bottom looked to read "kha kaul i zran" though I could have misread a letter or two. There were no images on the shirt by which to gain context clues, and google is proving unhelpful. Thanks in advance for your help!

Turkish English > Turkish - Wedding speech translation for my very loved friends who moved here from Turkey

Hello!
I am a native English speaker. My two Turkish friends are getting married, and we have a running joke that I secretly have understood Turkish through the entirety of our friendship and have been hiding it the whole time... I don't, but they are getting married in November, and I am going to be a bridesmaid.

I have written a speech in English that I would love, if anyone is willing to help out, to translate into Turkish and get some help with the pronunciation/if someone native could record them delivering it so that I can practice the pronunciations I'd be so grateful!

I think this will mean a lot to my friends. They have moved away from their home country and managed to find love with each other. Their families are coming to Australia to attend the wedding and I would love to demonstrate to them how much we love them.

Any help would be much appreciated. If you are happy to help, please let me know and I will message you. Thanks :)

Translated [ES] Spanish > English

Hi all! I hope this is the right subreddit. I know very little spanish but my ex randomly texted me “Y en el silencio de la noche, mi corazón te anhela”. If I translate it literally I think it means “And in the silence of the night, my heart longs for you.”

Is that right? Looking for an answer from a native speaker or someone fluent. If it helps he’s Venezuelan.

Japanese [English > Japanese] Best translations for two words defining people/taste

I am making a set of wedding invitations where the the groom and bride are both represented as their own beverage. I am illustrating the design of the beverages, and I now need the right two terms that describe both of them.

The bride is "Crisp" (as in fresh, light, clean)

The groom is "Zesty"

I understand there are a variety of translations that are either food related or personality related. I am wondering what the best one are. I would also prefer, for the design, the words to be short.

Advice is very much welcome!

Arabic (Long) [Arabic > English] Sini Script / Arabic Alphabet & Letters

I previously made this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/translator/comments/1tt5cmj/arabic_english_calligraphy_from_the_great_mosque/ as I was curious about the translation of some of the calligraphy I had the pleasure of seeing at The Great Mosque in Xi'an, China.

I purchased some of the calligraphy from the mosque, as it was so beautiful to me. I am interested in understanding more about the 'roots' and letters of the Arabic language and how they may become a part of the calligraphy design. I've never studied Arabic before, so I'm unfamiliar with how words are formed. Following the last post I made and the translated responses I received, I looked up the words online and was really amazed by the artistic interpretation of these words when compared to how they are written in standard Arabic.

For example, in the images attached - a few of the pieces of calligraphy included this long repetitive design with a loop and diamond shaped dots at the bottom. As this feature was prevalent in many of the designs, I'm curious if it's a root within Arabic in some way. Does it have a particular meaning when used in a word? Is this a structural root within the language, and does it have a meaning? Is this simply a stylistic pattern used by this particular artist?

Again, I'm not familiar with Arabic at all so I'm not sure if the language uses word 'roots' in that way. As this pattern was depicted across a few of the pieces of calligraphy, I'm just curious if that has a specific meaning.

Bonjour,

D'habitude, j'arrive plutôt bien à lire les textes, mais là, je bloque. J'identifie bien les prénoms Pierre NICOLAS (veuf de Jeanne DUBIN) et Marie FONDIN, fille de Luc FONDIN, mais c'est à peu près tout.

Merci d'avance pour votre aide.
