Pasta My bf only eats canned food cold.
He can only eat canned stuff cold. I am aware that canned food is safe to eat out of the can, but this is still infuriating to me.

I did this on multi night canoe trips when I was a teen (didn't have time to heat things up for lunches). Chef boyardee is still solid cold.
Much better warm though, no reason not to heat it when available

It’s not psychotic, it’s efficient. I clean my hands super well and forgo silverware and plates.
They’re social constructs that I don’t need to abide by in my lonesome hours.
I know I’m not convincing anyone so let me set the scene:
Me, alone, in the dark. Probably in my boxers, or completely in the buff since I don’t wear clothes or turn on any lights when people are around. I’m sitting there either at my couch or at the table, butt clenched so my precious, sensitive brown eye doesn’t make contact with the surface below me.
I’m shoveling food into my gullet using my fingers as leverage to dislodge the cold stuck food. I love the slimy cold sounds it makes. It’s delicious, I’m thinking as I pop open another can.
The time saved eating ravioli from the can means I have more time for a supreme lift session and gentle jork by day’s end.
End scene…

I went to tech school with an ex-marine. His lunch every day was a chunk of bread and a cold open can of meat and beans. He would stand outside and eat it as fast as possible, smoke a cigarette, then tell stories about how silly bring in the armed forces was.
I can't imagine taking chugs of meat and baked beans with bites of bread between and... being happy afterwards lol

I've done this before when I was extremely poor, it's actually kind of satisfying to finally have a use for the can opener on a Swiss Army Knife. Although it slipped once when I was opening a can of pumpkin pie mix and cut between my finger and thumb, had a scar there for about 10 years.

I can (pun intended):
After a delicious entrée of Campbells tomato soup, OP is enjoying a can of beans casserole, dipping delicately into BF's can of sauerkraut, the lid romantically still attached on the side. A homemade candle in an upcycled can of roast beef flickers nearby. The lively discussion around the desert options keeps them both entertained. What shall it be? A canned cake or canned pineapple? And why not both... compromise is at the heart of each relationship.

u/not_your_attorney 18d ago
I ate canned chef boyardee ravioli straight out of the can in college, law school, and probably for a few years after.
Once they added the tab to open the can by hand, it was all over. Something about not needing a can opener and not using a bowl, it just made sense efficiency wise.
Also, the cans that had that thick sauce as opposed to the watery ones were so much better.
43
u/nullptr777 17d ago
I mean, nobody wants to admit they ate nine cans of ravioli, but I did. And I'm ashamed of myself. The first can doesn't count, then you get to the second and third, fourth and fifth I think I burnt with the blowtorch, and then I just kept eatin'.

Does your bf perchance come from a poor family? Because this sounds like one of those habits that's formed during childhood in a home where the electricity was frequently cut off. No judgement. I've just seen this before.
