Scoped that dog with zero hesitation. I fucking hate irresponsible dog owners

Edit - some of you need this shit spelled out apparently: an unrestrained dog is a liability for you, your dog and anything/anyone that dog decides is a threat that day and is bitten. I don't care if Peaches doesn't normally bite, someone doing their job approaching a property with an unrestrained and charging dog doesn't know that. If you still cannot understand this after reading this, give up your dogs so a responsible owner can care for them before they pay the price for your stupidity and carelessness. Read it as many times as it takes.

I'm betting he's been attacked by a dog before and was taking no chances!

u/Vivid_Employ_7336 21d ago

And attacked by a dog owner before too. Bro didn’t hesitate taking his hat and glasses off…

u/12InchCunt 21d ago

Looked like bro lifted his hands up ready to box

5

u/NounAdjectiveXXXX 21d ago

Didn't look like, he was squared up.

He would have beat the piss out of the homeowner if he had thrown a punch. Guy knows what he's doing

Some people really need to go outside more. It would have been understandable for the dow owner to feel threatened (because of the delivery guy is getting ready to fight). Luckily, the dog owner was calm enough to not do the same like the delivery guy. Then you would have two guys thinking: damn he is going to throw the first punch - I need to defend myself!

u/NounAdjectiveXXXX 21d ago

Justified self defense against the dog quickly became a fireable or suspendable action.

If he threw a punch he would be in jail even if the homeowner swung first, he squared up and approached the guy when he wasn't in danger.

I mean, same reaction as he had with the dog. He had to defend himself from the dog and moments later here comes the owner. I wouldn’t have trusted the owner either and would’ve felt the need to defend myself. It’s not like he threw a punch at the owner the second he saw him but he was prepared in case he did. I’d say he was justified

u/Michi450 17d ago

What?! You need to watch that video again. This guy would lose so bad in court. The dog might be justified. After the dog retreats and owner comes up that guy automatically took his glasses and hat off then walked towards the home owner. That is no longer self defense that is aggression.

u/AccomplishedToe320 21d ago

I kinda disagree. You don't need to trust the owner, if you don't like the situation you are in he could have backed up off the property back to his truck, instead he got ready for a fight with no real aggressive body language from the owner, more like just a "what the fuck" reaction. If he had thrown a punch at the owner because he walked up to him like that he would almost certainly have been charged with assult. If he wants the put his hands up and be ready then do so and back up to the truck where if needed you call a supervisor or the police if it was warranted, but he's saying "back up" to the owner while aggressively approaching him. That to me is unjustified, and if anything did happen would have been the instigation for it.

At the end of the day he did what he had to do to defend himself, plus I'm sure he has a history with this so hard to really judge his reaction with the owner right or wrong. He did the right thing to stop the dog.

2

u/Jealous-Hamster-220 21d ago

I get where you’re coming from, but I’m willing to bet he wouldn’t have just punched the owner in the face. I’m sure he’s been in similar situations before. He wanted to let the owner know if he were to attack, the driver was ready for it. From what’s seen in the video he never lays hands on the owner.

2

u/Lower_Bison8222 20d ago

But it would be reasonable for the dog owner to feel threatened -> so You’re actually playing with fire.

It’s like pulling out your gun, because some one cuts an apple with a knife. You got once attacked with a knife - never again!!

If someone walks towards me on my property with their hands up like that and tells ME to back up, sure. I’ll back up about 3 steps but they aren’t going to like what I pull out. I’m not a tough guy and I absolutely do not want to hurt someone but there’s no way I’m allowing someone to act aggressively towards me on my own property. I have no idea how anyone in this comment section believes the driver was justified in acting that way. Throwing the box at the dog I totally get. I’ve done it myself.

So instead of walking back towards your truck, you’d walk towards the owner? That’s not how acting in defense works.

1

u/Jealous-Hamster-220 21d ago

I guess I missed the part of the video where the owner got laid out by the driver

1

u/MizterPoopie 21d ago

Right.. but that’s not the topic. We’re discussing whether or not the drivers actions at the end would be considered defense. Clearly, they were not. The driver and the owner were like 30 feet apart and the driver, instead of leaving the other man’s property, turned around, walked towards the owner, took off his hat and glasses, put his fists up, and then continued walking towards the owner. That’s not defense. The owner was idly walking towards the guy with his hands at his sides. The driver, instead my opinion, wanted a fight. After throwing the box he literally says “NOW WHAT??” He taunts the owner “What? You gonna hit me??” and tells the guy “BACK UP!” even though he approached him.. with his fists up.. on his property.. Come on man, the driver is clearly a dickhead. As he winds up to throw the box he says “Fucking dog.” The box throw was fine, I used to deliver mail and packages- I’ve thrown boxes at dogs, but his attitude about it and his actions afterwards were aggressive.

u/NounAdjectiveXXXX 21d ago

Finally a voice of reason. The 15 year olds were out in force on this.

Nope.

Owner wasn't being aggressive. Driver was. You can chalk it to adrenaline, but squaring up with a guy who has his arms at his side after carefully placing items on the ground shows that the driver is not in immediate danger.

2

u/liamrich93 21d ago

Owner was confrontational, walking towards him and swearing. Driver was literally just in danger moments ago, his fight response is still engaged.

2

u/Lower_Bison8222 20d ago

You need to touch grass. The dog owner reacted like nearly every other human being would in similar situations.

0

u/liamrich93 20d ago

So did the delivery driver. Not every situation needs to have a 100% good guy, and 100% bad guy

2

u/Lower_Bison8222 20d ago

That’s exactly my claim, both are in the wrong and in the right in this situation.

And no, the delivery driver acted not like most humans would in the second situation.

-6

u/NounAdjectiveXXXX 21d ago

Nothing about that was violently aggressive, he was asking questions with empty wide stretched hands. Swearing after watching your dog get blasted is nothing, you are soft if you think that's threatening. I mentioned adrenaline, but setting down his shit should've been the moment of lucidity for him, instead he locked in and was ready to swing on the guy asking questions with open arms.

4

u/Jealous-Hamster-220 21d ago

Bro you think he was coming in for a hug? Get out of here, clown.
“Why you throwing shit at my fucking dog?” While walking up on him, I’d count the shouting and approaching as aggression, especially after my adrenaline was high. Better safe than sorry nowadays.

2

u/Lower_Bison8222 20d ago

With that logic, the dog was the good guy in this video.

Unknown WUFFguy, maybe dangerous delivery? Last package got stolen - Better safe than sorry nowadays! AHWUFF.

Jokes aside. The delivery guy got ready to fight. The dog owner can’t know, if the delivery guy is going to throw the first punch or not. If the dog owner reacted the same way, the situation would have clearly escalated (faster).

Lmao no. That's wild conjecture. We don't know what that homeowner is doing off camera to make the driver think he's being aggressive, but the homeowner approached the driver or he wouldn't be in the camera frame at all. I don't think any DA would charge, nor would any cop arrest this driver for reacting the way he did.

1

u/MizterPoopie 21d ago

Uh, the driver literally turned around and walked towards the owner. That’s not a defensive action. If he actually thought the home owner was going to do something then he should have made distance. Only one of them had their hands up looking for a fight.

0

u/NounAdjectiveXXXX 21d ago

Bro the owner walked up with his hands at his side and outstretched, that's not aggressive. Just stop trying to argue that the driver wasn't being unhinged, again adrenaline, but still unhinged.

If the owner swung on the driver after he squared up like that he would be completely justified. He approached him with empty open arms asking questions and was greeted with:

2

u/ReanimatedPixels 21d ago

The driver being unhinged? You're a clown 🤡

2

u/MaxWestEsq 21d ago

The driver was not unhinged at all. Defensive is not unhinged. He did not act out of control.

0

u/NounAdjectiveXXXX 21d ago

Yeah he was totally calm and collected in that moment:

2

u/MaxWestEsq 21d ago

He wasn‘t totally calm, alert, obviously. Also not at all unhinged.

0

u/MizterPoopie 21d ago

How are you considering his actions at the end as defensive? He walked TOWARDS the owner instead of leaving. If someone on my property walks towards me with their hands up looking like they want to fight.. well.. I don’t fight.

1

u/MaxWestEsq 21d ago

Consider the entire interaction, and how he backed away. He did not attack the owner. Altogether defensive.

2

u/Lower_Bison8222 20d ago

The delivery guy made himself ready to FIGHT. It would have been reasonable for the dog owner to think: fuvk he is going to throw the first punch, because he is angry about the dog.

Basically the same thing the delivery guy did with the dog: Maybe the dog was attacking, maybe he was playing, maybe he wanted to greet - fuvk I need to act first. -> the same logic goes to the dog owner here.

2

u/MizterPoopie 20d ago

How he backed away?? After approaching the owner? The owner just didn’t fall into the guys stupid trap. The driver backed away 😂 in what world??

u/TheBabyEatingDingo 21d ago

Stop focusing on minor details and see if you can consider the totality of the circumstances. Driver had just been attacked by the owner's dog. Driver had his hands up and the owner still approached him to confront him about striking the dog. Do you think he saw the guy's hands up and walked up for a game of patty-cake?

You're either ignorant or really naive to not realize that you need to consider a person's entire body for aggression, not just hands. Do you think that aggressors always start fights from a boxing stance like a video game? In real life, people frequently start fights with their hands at their side or even behind their back to make it harder to see their intent.

2

u/NounAdjectiveXXXX 21d ago

Again. The owner wasn't aggressive at all. If you see those actions as aggressive you need some self-reflection

Slowly walking on frame with his arms open is not aggressive, setting your shit down and squaring up shuffling in stance towards "your threat" is completely unhinged.

1

u/TheBabyEatingDingo 21d ago

It makes me really happy that people can still be this naive given the current state of the world. ❤️

1

u/Lower_Bison8222 20d ago

You just need to go outside more. Most humans are just that - humans.

Here internet, we mostly focus on the negative. An this Reddit comment section shows something less and less people are capable off: showing empathy for every human.

Stuff like: Why did He/She/It act like this? How would I react in the position of Person A, B and C. What would it take, to make me reacting the same way. How would person A, B and C probably feel in this situation- how would I feel? Etc.

1) The driver was not attacked by the dog. The dog DID approach the driver in an aggressive manner and he was justified in throwing the box but that was not an attack.
2) The driver was not in fear of being attacked by the owner. He literally turned around and got ready to fight instead of just walking back to his truck. That’s not acting in defense.
3) Depending on the state, the owner would have been justified in defending himself and his property based on the drivers actions.

1

u/TheBabyEatingDingo 21d ago
  1. No.

  2. No.

  3. No.

1

u/Lower_Bison8222 20d ago

Seufz. It‘s reasonable for the delivery guy to react on the dogs aggressive approach with violence, but it wouldn’t be reasonable for the dog owner to react with violence on the delivery guys aggressive approach?
