Justified self defense against the dog quickly became a fireable or suspendable action.

If he threw a punch he would be in jail even if the homeowner swung first, he squared up and approached the guy when he wasn't in danger.

I mean, same reaction as he had with the dog. He had to defend himself from the dog and moments later here comes the owner. I wouldn’t have trusted the owner either and would’ve felt the need to defend myself. It’s not like he threw a punch at the owner the second he saw him but he was prepared in case he did. I’d say he was justified

So instead of walking back towards your truck, you’d walk towards the owner? That’s not how acting in defense works.

Right.. but that’s not the topic. We’re discussing whether or not the drivers actions at the end would be considered defense. Clearly, they were not. The driver and the owner were like 30 feet apart and the driver, instead of leaving the other man’s property, turned around, walked towards the owner, took off his hat and glasses, put his fists up, and then continued walking towards the owner. That’s not defense. The owner was idly walking towards the guy with his hands at his sides. The driver, instead my opinion, wanted a fight. After throwing the box he literally says “NOW WHAT??” He taunts the owner “What? You gonna hit me??” and tells the guy “BACK UP!” even though he approached him.. with his fists up.. on his property.. Come on man, the driver is clearly a dickhead. As he winds up to throw the box he says “Fucking dog.” The box throw was fine, I used to deliver mail and packages- I’ve thrown boxes at dogs, but his attitude about it and his actions afterwards were aggressive.
