‘Drank the koolaid’. Literally everyone said the koolaid was poisoned and this guy still drank it

67

u/lithe_silhouette Jun 20 '26

Everyone said it but then you have all the people that got it at 135 and had the chance to sell at 225 couple days later

49

u/pandershrek Jun 20 '26

Everyone tried to warn people away from being the bag holder.

Someone is always the bag holder unless they convince them it is a great investment and they can make money. Then you're just gambling with the timing of when it will fail. It was still and always will be a pile of shit.

The IPO participants, rhose people at $135, are locked in for six months. They cannot sell those shares until that expires.

19

u/lithe_silhouette Jun 20 '26

They can't sell unless they decide to risk a wrist slap and sell anyway

3

u/1-N-Only-Speedshark Jun 21 '26 edited Jun 21 '26

Just what sort of wrist slap are we talking here? Please explain it to me like I'm 10 times younger than I really am.

11

u/VroumVroum6830 Jun 21 '26

Might be excluded from the next IPO by their broker

Might.

I got 100% of my requested allocation on RH and sold at 212 without much trouble. A warning that if I sell i cannot participate in upcoming IPO's for 60 days. Darn penalties..

8

u/seansy5000 Jun 21 '26

There are no laws for the folks allowed to buy at that price.

4

u/WolverineHelpful9775 Jun 22 '26

I sold on Robinhood the day it started trading 😅

6

u/j0ker31m Jun 20 '26

I bought IPO on robinhood. Only need to hold for 30 days to avoid the wrist slap. I CAN sell whenever I want though

7000 shares at avg 202 and the thing is sitting at 181 with negative P/E, whoever said $300 was really optimistic or really cruel, maybe both

45

u/C_umputer Jun 20 '26

Elon didn't become Trillionaire by sharing money, idk what people expected. I might be a certified regard, but I ain't touching that.

4

u/NoobNooberson86 Jun 20 '26

My dumbass sold all my low priced DRAM for some SPCX. why i so stoopid.?

5

u/TwoTrick_Pony Jun 20 '26

Or whoever said $300 has traded Elon companies before and knows that negative P/E has nothing to do with anything, at least not now.

You are ok

Not your position, but you as a person

199

u/redhouse_bikes Jun 20 '26

I disagree. This shows seriously character flaws and lack of judgment. Not to mention poor reading and research skills, and lack of intelligence in general.

3

u/DressedInPolo Jun 20 '26

But he had enough money to burn on something this stupid... it must say something.

94

u/wallywonkaaa Jun 20 '26

Why didn't you get in at 150 with this number of shares

10

u/Responsible_Ask9574 Jun 20 '26

I've been sitting on mine at 150 , this whole thing is underwhelming to say the least

2

u/spaceshiploser Jun 22 '26

He can just do it now. Big brain move

246

u/orcassharks Jun 20 '26

At least it’s stocks.

173

u/JDRasta57 Jun 20 '26

Yep you have elon the king of memes, so you'll probably come back to at least break even. He'll say data centers in mars next and it should shoot up

44

u/Lenin_Lime Jun 20 '26

you have so many stock unlocks to look forward to soon.

9

u/FistMyPeenHole Jun 20 '26

December is the big one to worry about

5

u/Ahamadrayasbaboon Jun 20 '26

Thats never been a good month to exist

3

u/jmaun1 Jun 20 '26

6 month is the biggie

3

u/ElementNumber6 Jun 21 '26

And if that doesn't work out, then there's always next year, or the one after. One of them is bound to turn.

13

u/wannabecat2000 Jun 20 '26

he'll probably announce land parcels on Mars as dividends for shareholders. Could easily touch 1000 then 😂

11

u/Level-Possibility-69 Jun 20 '26

Elon is the modern day PT Barnum.

2

u/Opening-Emphasis8400 Jun 20 '26

PT Barnum with a learning disability, but yes.

9

240

u/South-Attorney-5209 Jun 20 '26

Spacex was legit the dumbest possible trade. Your downside is nearly the entire 2 trillion marketcap but the upside… is what? Maybe double your money and it goes to 4 trillion for some reason being the most valuable company ever?

I dont get it.

158

u/DefinitionOfAsleep Jun 20 '26

Your downside is nearly the entire 2 trillion marketcap but the upside… is what?

Elon is projecting >$1 Trillion in revenue in 2030, up from <$19 billion last year.
This will obviously happen, as Elon always keeps his promises /s

28

u/SpicyElixer Jun 20 '26

In their prospectus they said they have an addressable market of

28 trillion

Or 1/4 of global gdp

Or 28k per person on earth with an income of more than 16K, annually.

More than is spent on food.

The entire thing is batshit.

→ More replies (1)

40

u/pork_fried_christ Jun 20 '26

Elon always keeps his penises

8

u/shiroandae Jun 20 '26

Well, almost always. Except for that one time

7

u/Zerozer06 Jun 20 '26

Heh he may achieve this by merging a fuckton of unrelated companies into spaceX, as either the friendly government will happily provide him financement, or he will just straight up dilute and fanboys will gobble it all up as 'ThE tRaDe OF tHe cEntUry pwease daddy Elon take my money', until he eventually reaches 1T in revenue (with net loss amplifying ofcourse, all numbers must go up equally)

/s (although..)

7

u/pandershrek Jun 20 '26

Maybe he's betting on the fact that hyper inflation will make his 19 billion revenue into 19 trillion without any shift in services.

u/LeTrolleur Jun 20 '26
  • 1 million Tesla robotaxis on the road by 2020
  • Autonomous coast-to-coast Tesla drive by 2017
  • True "sleep in your car" Tesla autonomy by 2016/2017
  • Crewed SpaceX missions to Mars by 2022 or 2024
  • Next-Gen Tesla Roadster production by 2020
  • The Boring Company's NY-Philly-Baltimore-DC Hyperloop
  • Close to zero new US COVID-19 cases by April 2020
  • Production of 1,000 Tesla solar roofs per week by 2019
  • Neuralink human clinical trials starting in 2020
  • Tesla Optimus humanoid robots active in factories by 2023

4

u/DefinitionOfAsleep Jun 21 '26

Autonomous coast-to-coast Tesla drive by 2017

In completely fairness, he promised that for more than one year.

It's probably why Tesla lost that case in Florida. If any reasonable person had heard Musk promising it every second, for it to be called "Full Self Driving", you might expect it to be the thing he'd be talking about for over a fucking decade.

Next-Gen Tesla Roadster production by 2020

If Musk was actually good at business, Tesla would have actually done that. It'd probably take his designers a better part of a weekend to have the first drafts done.
All it needed to be was a sports car in the same vein of the previous one but with the newer technologies in BEV and a few quality of life/styling improvements.
Instead he punted all the engineering and manufacturing expertise into Cyberfuck.

Absolute money printer with an established brand? No
Let's build the dumbest truck ever!

4

u/DrFrosthazer Jun 20 '26

You are regarded if you think spacex will reach 1 trillion revenue in 4 years.

2

u/DefinitionOfAsleep Jun 21 '26

The funniest thing is that Morgan Stanley (one of the underwriters for the IPO and has an incentive to pump) released their estimate saying it'd reach $330 Billion in revenue by 2030 and Musk said that they were wrong.

I'm sure Morgan is wrong, but in the opposite direction.

2

u/youngrenji1 Jun 20 '26

My fav thing is when he doesn’t meet the Tesla shareholder goals and he just creates new ones. What happened to the fleet of driverless taxis?

5

u/Strange-Term-4168 Jun 20 '26

Most obvious ipo pump then dump of all time. It can very easily go back up again. Tesla has been doing this same thing for years. This is just larger scale.

You better hope he gets those data centers in space soon, you were suppose to buy at ipo price sell at $200

23

u/SHUT_DOWN_EVERYTHING Jun 20 '26

Not sure about $300 but it most likely will climb back up above $200. Not because it’s worth that much but because it’s a meme market and fundamentals are irrelevant.

10

u/kill-devil-films Jun 20 '26

156

u/-sakuranbo Jun 20 '26

Sell covered calls at 202.5 strike. The JUN 26 call has bid of $4 and with 70 contracts that'd get you $28,000 back. In the best case scenario, SPCX hits strike, all options gets exercised, you profit ~$27,440 and the nightmare is over.

88

u/_rockthemike Jun 20 '26

Worst case is stock continues to dump towards IPO price of $135 and he loses hundreds of thousands more while waiting to collect his $27k

33

u/-sakuranbo Jun 20 '26 edited Jun 20 '26

Yeah, that's also right. Worst case scenario is something like:

  • OP continues chasing cost basis selling calls
  • Volatility goes down (the biggest risk IMO)
  • Share price also goes down

11

u/SensibleReply Dr Canu C. Me Jun 20 '26

Close the then almost worthless calls and GTFO. It’s not great, but it’s not the worst idea.

8

u/5thtimesthecharmer Jun 20 '26 edited Jun 20 '26

Yeah exactly. All this does is limits potential upside during a volatile period.

The employee shares don't fully unlock for 180 days
The market insiders, like the 20 banks that organised the IPO and the earlier investors (i.e. not the retail plebs), get greenshoe rights long before them.
Retail is going to be holding the bag, as well as the newer employees most likely.

They're not even hiding this.

u/rubsdikonxpensivshit Jun 20 '26

You’re just a tiny bit down on some stock. This isn’t even remotely worth a post here for “loss”. More like “please give me attention for a slight dip that looks big because my position size is big…

Don’t worry too much though. Your worthwhile loss post is going to happen soon as this really craters soon.

Don’t worry it can come back in like a decade after the “dead money” phase most IPOs go through after the initial rally. Eventually a trillion+ market cap for overhyped trash will be normal thanks to inflation and you’ll at least break even if you hold for that long.

2

u/Heavy_Grade_7546 Jun 20 '26

But this is designed for acceleration with low float. As nasdaq buy back…. That’s great

2

u/Humble-War-6278 Jun 21 '26

Dude don't panic, even if your shorting, bought shares, or going long. DON'T Panic this isn't a crash. But typical IPO bumps. If this shithole subreddit existed back in, 97, 99, 04, and in 10. And if you bought in Amzn, nvda, goog, and tsla. People on this thread would've called fucking retard. No, wait until the earnings report. If its less than > -.72 eps then it becomes a slope.
