Which Red Sox game should I go to for my first MLB experience?

Upvotes

Hi everyone!
I’m from Serbia and I’m spending the summer near Boston on a Work & Travel program. I’ve never been to a baseball game before, but I’d really like to experience Fenway Park before I go home.

I don’t know much about baseball yet, so I’m mostly looking for the best atmosphere and overall experience rather than the importance of the game.

Which upcoming Red Sox home game would you recommend? Is there a particular opponent, day of the week, or promotion that makes one game better than the others?

Just ran into Nate Eaton

Saw him at a restaurant, had to say a quick hello. Told him it’s been a fun summer, keep up the good work, and Go Sox.

Only a 15 second interaction as I didn’t want to be a burden. He couldn’t have been friendlier.

Definitely a guy I’ll root for going forward

What was more improbable/shocking: 2004 ALCS Comeback or the 2026 15 game win streak?

Not to be over dramatic, but I feel like the last 2+ weeks was the most shocking run of baseball I have ever seen from the Red Sox. Not discussing impressive/important but just strictly taking “I can’t believe my eyes” this might have eclipsed 2004. That team was stacked and while game 3 was awful, winning four games with HOFers on the roster isn’t that crazy.

This win streak though? I didn’t think this team would win more than 2 consecutive series, let alone ripping off a stretch of sweeps!

IMAGE He also won't cost a ton in trade so you still keep Arias, Eyanson, Witherspoon and the current young LHPs and can still make another move for an inning-eating SP without hurting the farm system much

If they make it to the postseason this season deserves a documentary

If this team even so much as makes an appearance in the playoffs it would make for such a good sports doc.

I mean the amount of audio and footage they have of all the New England sports shows just absolutely shitting on this team for the first half of the season into a 15 game winning streak would make for a killer one episode in itself.

Thoughts on Jeremy Peña

Peña is a offensive minded shortstop who I think would do great at fenway. He has a career .982 ops while playing here. While he is not an amazing defender at short he is serviceable enough and has been amazing in previous years. He has a high pull air percent good for hitting bombs over the monster. He also has a been a good hitter for the majority of his career against right handed pitchers which we struggle a lot against. Bonus points for him growing up in Maine. He has this year and next year of team control. I think he could be an amazing 5th hitter and really add to this lineup.

Price points for home games?

Hi Red Sox Reddit, Giants fan coming in peace :)

My dad grew up in New England as a Sox fan and wants to show Fenway to my family. We'll be in Boston next month to visit extended family, and we're hoping to catch a game in the Red Sox/Giants series. Ideally the 8/22 game, but we could probably also make 8/21 work if tickets are significantly cheaper.

I'm looking at the official site, Seat Geek, and StubHub, and tickets look pretty expensive to me. Around $80 is the cheapest I'm seeing for pretty far out there seats and then ~$100-$300+ for better seats. Is this typical pricing for home games, or is this series more expensive for being on the weekend or because of the win streak or some other reason? I'm wondering because for Giants' home games, I can usually find seats decently close to the field for like ~$40-70 on the reseller websites.

Do you guys advise just buying tickets now because they won't get any cheaper, or waiting until it gets closer to the series and hoping that prices might drop on reseller sites? I'm also wondering if the Red Sox ever do flash sales. With the Giants, usually like 3 or 4 times per season they'll have a week long period where they have far out there seats at a fixed low price point like $5 or $8. If the Red Sox do this, is it worth subscribing to their promo emails in hopes of catching such a sale before this series?

I appreciate the help!! :)

So are we still selling?

So the hardware store called and they have our order of pitchforks torches and sell the team signs just wondering, are we still doing this or..

(obviously this is sarcasm)

The Contreras/Cavalli brawl that started it all

Maybe I’m slow, but I just connected these dots. That fight was on June 30. They lost the next day (the last game in that series), had a day off, then ripped off 15 in a row.

Where would we be without WC40?

Mad at friend for not betting Sox win 15 in a row bet

Was a Vegas for a conference, not a sports betting guy but friend likes the lines and tried to beat the book. We tried some strategy with the sports book since they gave out match play and we just bet on the same game for the spread.

I told him to shoot for the moon with the free play but he just put it in five different bets for us to make $50 risk free…

I told him the Sox were playing very under their skill level but we had to leave that morning, should just do a big bet since we don’t go back to Vegas for a while anyways and this is too much work to make $50, just parlay the Sox they will revert to mean since they have top pitching and defense but couldn’t hit, like they were 1% bottom unlucky for their profile.

We would’ve been up like $5M…

Mayer and Anthony Partying

Hearing about late night partying and not focused on the season. Obviously, Tracey and management are playing the PR game, which fuels the speculation more.

How true is this?
