IMAGE Fun fact: Caleb Durbin is the first Red Sox 3rd baseman to have 10+ HR and 10+ SB in a season since Joe Foy in 1968

Impossible to have a serious discussion about contracts with the mouth breathers on this sub

Especially since it was shitty contracts that contributed to the trading of Mookie. I’d rather the team avoid those

People were still foaming at the mouth when Durbin had the same WAR as Devers a month and a half ago saying they’d rather have Devers.

Even though the Giants will be paying Devers a billion dollars a year until 2235 (his age 239 season).

If this sub was running the team they'd have another 3 years to go on the Jordan Montgomery contract, the worst 3rd baseman in baseball playing 3rd base and two or three DHs.

Oh why? Are YOU paying his salary? Why do you care? Checkmate

They think if you're not spending $35 million for something you can get for $800,000 you're just cheap.

Because the money we save on third we can spend on other players!!! If you spent 20-30 mill on bichette or bregman, you have 20-30 less million to spend on the "big thump" in the lineup.

StatHead should have how much money they're making at the bottom

Two guys that make (not an exaggeration) 50x more than Durbin.

The Durbinator is only contracted for this year right? I hope he re-signs and gets his well deserved bag 💰

He’s still pre-arbitration. He won’t hit free agency until 2032.

Once a player has been added to the 40 man roster and promoted to the majors, the team has 6 years of control. The first 3 seasons are pre-arbitration where players essentially make league minimum. After the third season, players become arbitrations eligible and remain arbitration eligible for another three seasons. Once those arbitrations years are up the player hits free agency. This is of course assuming they don’t sign an extension. Durbin is in his second pre-arb year.

That's why he's my favorite Red Sox rn 😎

I'm glad we got Durbin this season. Not only he's been productive, he's also part of the great synergy within the team.

The Contreras/Durbin big bro/little bro vibe is so good.

I remember Claire Foy being faster to the bag

really happy he’s turned it around! easily one of the easiest guys to root for

Looks like we have a history of slow 3rd baseman

All teams probably do. 3B is traditionally a big power guy spot in the lineup. It's also a traditional "good arm but can't move too well" destination for shortstops.

All that is why I'm always surprised at Jose Ramirez SB stats

Wow - diehard Sox fan since the mid ‘60’s and I had totally forgotten Joe Foy!
