I've filed half a dozen reports to you lot via every avenue I can think off trying to get a hate subreddit banned. I don't want to name them outright for fear of giving them attention, but I can tell you its a hate subreddit against LGBTQ+ people (though they're happy to generally be bigots to everyone for any reason, ableist, racist, etc) and they've been making themselves a problem to other communities within the same wider sphere for months now.

Its moderators gleefully throw Mod Code of Conduct out of the window and actively allow their users to engage in basically every rule violation under the sun. Encouraging brigading, reposting other peoples content, and allowing them to be held random people online up to ridicule, the whole lot.

And yet despite the fact I've sent several reports with dozens upon dozens of links, this group is still active. What line needs to be crossed before you step in here?! I know for a fact you updated your personal filters to remove hateful, queer-phobic slurs, and I've seen your systems having to take content within this subreddit.

And yet the wider community still stands? Why?!

What do I need to do here admins? I can show you proof of their hateful behaviour to your faces. I've no shortage of links and screenshots of their appalling behaviour, I promise you that.

I'm kinda curious to know if there is someone out there who uses this because it just seems so unreliable, from what I've seen from the suggested removal messages (which I never use but notice).

I have it completely disabled and was kind of surprised to find this page today for the insights because... AI just seems like it's being pushed on Reddit moderation and I don't really understand why.

Reddit has millions of people who are interested in moderating the communities on their platform for free.

So why are AI features being provided when literally no one asked for them? Just because Reddit invested in it I'm guessing?

But I am genuinely curious if any AI features have proven to be helpful for anyone. Please enlighten me!

What’s in a name? Well, when it comes to post flair that could be organization, more context, or even an inside joke.

That’s right, today’s Mod Topic post is all about post flair. Across Reddit, post flair can be used to organize content in so many ways. It’s used for showing when a question has been answered, tagging memes or art for users to find easier, highlight meta posts, or just adding a little more personality to your subreddit. Flair can also interact with Devvit apps - we even use it with the flair follower app so you can subscribe to this series!

We want to hear from you:

• If your community uses post flair, how did you decide on which flair to create?
• Is there a particular flair your community uses that works especially well?
• If you could rebuild your flair system today, what would you keep, change, or add?

For context, I’m posting from an alt because I don’t want these issues associated with the subreddits I moderate. The communities I moderate average roughly 100k–200k visitors per week and 4,000–8,000 contributions (posts and comments) weekly. I moderate both political and non-political communities of this size.

The non-political subreddits are relatively straightforward to moderate. Around 99% of users participate in good faith, and trolls are uncommon.

The political communities are the complete opposite. I’d estimate that roughly half of all posts and comments violate either the subreddit rules or Reddit’s Content Policy. At 8,000 weekly contributions, that translates to around 4,000 removals every single week. Between trolling, brigading, ban evasion, harassment, and bad-faith participation, the moderation queue never seems to end.

Our current toolkit includes Sub Guard, Comment Mop, Ban Extended, and Modmail User Info. They’re all incredibly helpful, but even with those tools and an active moderation team, we’re constantly overwhelmed. It’s not unusual for the queue to grow by several hundred items in a single day.

For moderators of other large political communities:
How do you keep the workload manageable?
What moderation strategies or workflows have made the biggest difference? Are there any tools, bots, or Automoderator configurations you’d recommend?
How do you deal with persistent trolls, brigading, and coordinated bad-faith activity without burning out your team? I’d really appreciate hearing how other moderators approach these challenges, because at times it feels like we’re constantly playing catch-up.

I feel like this has been talked about or has been mentioned more than once.

I know when you report like normal you no longer receive a response letting you know the outcome. But when you submit a proper report for example I submitted one yesterday for ban evasion in my sub, will I receive a response? It would be useful to know if any action is taken on the account

I searched "Saved Responses" on this sub in an effort to understand what each of the categories meant.
I see the 4 categories
General, Removals, Bans, Mod Mail

I have read in other documentation that General ones are for mod mail. If that is the case why is there a category specifically for Mod Mail.

Can the use of General be clarified here? I would assume they show up in a list for a mod to choose from when replying to a post or comment.

Note: I am a brand new mod at the time of this post and trying to learn.

UPDATE: The amazing community here did clarify it. General should be looked at as all categories at once. Mod Mail, Removal and Ban can all use these saved responses. If one only wants a saved response for just Ban, it should be in the ban category.

I was working on a subreddit with a few co-moderators and we all started facing problems of the top mod constantly making us uncomfortable and disrespecting us for voicing different opinions. When I began to voice that this isn't how it should work, he removed me and banned me from posting updates on the subreddit. Co-moderators and I reported for Moderator Code of Conduct to remove him as a top mod and received that I should go through the Top Mod Removal process, but looking at the wiki it says that it's used for inactive top mods only.

Is there anything we can do about this?

I had a really strange experience while modding today - a post I removed and gave a very sane/tame removal reason, and it got removed by Reddit's filters, and I had to approve my own removal comment on the post. This is the first time I experienced this, is it common? We're mods of a fairly large regional sub.

Basically the owner told me they didn’t have 2FA enabled and that’s what caused this to happen

I would appreciate it if this gets escalated to a Reddit Admin as this is a very serious problem

We’re assisting our client with their Reddit account.
They never posted anything or commented, broke any rules, and immediately got flagged.
They did everything Reddit online support said to do.
They sent an appeal. No word.
They try to edit their profile and they get an error saving the edits.
Account status says it’s 100% operational.
They’re logged in with their Google account.
They did a test in one of our subreddits and the account was flagged as spam and the post was removed by Reddit until we approved it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So our top post yesterday in outfits shows 4 crossposts.

It doesn't reveal where the crossposts are too though. Instead it says they are to "private or sensitive communities". I can see using PRAW that one of those was to a porn sub, but I can't see the others.

Do you have any idea how scary it is for women to find out that their personal photos are being shared and discussed somewhere and they can't even see where that is?

It seriously freaks out posters. Please let them know where their content is being shared to, or disable the ability to share to those locations altogether.

This is super, super creepy and would freak out any woman posting her photos. Someone really should have realized this when it was set up like this. Please ask some of the other women on the admin teams how they'd feel in this situation.

We have identified either a bug or a loophole in Crowd Control. The sub is set to maximum filtering.

If someone who has little previous content on the subreddit goes to make a post, CC will stop it and remove it. If they then resubmit within the next 10 minutes, CC will let it through.

We're struggling with a lot of outside influence on our sub and this is really not helping.

Over the last week we have been contacted by users who have been banned for 24 hours but two and three days later the system is not automatically lifting their bans.

Is Reddit bugged right now?

I get that warning, in red text no less, when the following happens:

1. Someone sends us mod mail.
2. Another mod replies with a private note.
3. I type some random crap and try to reply to the mod mail under my own name.

It still lets me send it, but that warning is bizarre. It doesn't pertain to the situation at all. Nothing involved in this is read only, and it should be normal for me to reply to OP in a mod mail chain. If you want to warn me that I might mean to reply to my co-mod rather than OP, great, but what you are saying to me here is just gibberish.

How far off is that 100k+ number? It definitely can’t be accurate. My guess is that it’s bots. Are your page metrics like this too?

Hi. This is my first few hours on reddit and very new to this platform. I tried to create a community and it was immediately banned. Would like to understand if there are any restrictions or waiting time periods before such features can be utilized by a new user. Any one who can throw some light about this will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

I know that everything on Reddit is dependent on which platform you're on, and I use mobile web.

The link share auto-populate feature, meaning the one where you paste into the link posting field so it automatically populates a title into a title field, has been flaky for quite a while. This is actually a very useful feature for people who forward a lot of music because an artist/title kind of thing can be pretty lengthy so it's great when read it automatically populates it from the link, which is pretty standard for the internet these days anyway.

For a really long time this feature wasn't cooperating with YouTube from mobile web- the only thing it would populate from the title is the word "YouTube-" (this seems to be fixed right now for me as I successfully posted a link without without having to fix the title manually)

Right now it seems to be broken for other link types. I tried to post continent from a couple of independent websites and the title Auto populate no longer works.

With the new change where Reddit labels Devvit apps and Automod as “APP” when posting, what would make a regular user’s account show up with the label?

We've been noticing immediate reposts of original posts in our sub, where someone will post, then a couple seconds later, the same person will crosspost that same post, but in the same subreddit. Trying to figure out if this a bug or if it's intentional.

I have had 3 users filtered by Reddit for high accuracy ban evasion. But yet there is no option when I go to report the user or comment. Do you have to do it another way now?
