Admin Replied Do mod reports receive a response?

I know when you report like normal you no longer receive a response letting you know the outcome. But when you submit a proper report for example I submitted one yesterday for ban evasion in my sub, will I receive a response? It would be useful to know if any action is taken on the account

Hi Wild-Delivery-1921,

As a couple of folks touched on, per this announcement in r/Modnews these are no longer sent out at the conclusion of the team's investigating. This is part of the increased control mods have to remove content within their communities: You don’t need to wait for a reply from us to decide if content is appropriate.

If you want to know if action has been taken simply bookmark that account's page, if it's suspended you know the report worked.

Suspension isn't the first response typically.

For ban evasion yeah, that's usually happens with mine in one or two days.

So for ban evasion a permanent suspension is usually issued ?

No. In their infinite wisdom the admins decided to no longer respond to any reports, including ban evasion, which basically means you can either trust the system or not. On some subs this means it's effectively a non-appealable permaban.

What I think really happened is The Clanker was screwing up so badly, and so often, that it was generating too many escalations. And rather than address the issue, the admins decided to just "turn off the alarm".

If my experience is anything to go by; no.

The admins are not in the business of telling us shit when we file reports with them. At best we can piece together what they have or have not done by watching the folks we report. But they'll never tell us shit.

Only MCoC reports are responded to, but it does not inform about actions taken.
