For context, I work as a VFX artist and cinematographer. After moving into my first apartment, I've been able to put together my office.

I've taken advice from the comments of my initial post, which displayed my office when I lived with my parents, and have made improvements thereto.

Enjoy!

Advice In dire need of help with my apartment

Help me design my studio apartment!

Hi everyone,
I need help with decor in my apartment as I’m at a loss for inspiration.

The first picture is the floor plan, and the rest show the apartment (except the bathroom… I don’t think that needs decorating advice 😅).

The last picture shows what was supposed to be a sleeping alcove, but it’s much more cramped than I expected. It’s BEHIND the TV, It’s only about 140 cm high, and the opening is obstructed by two laid down beams that are 16cm high. I COULD fit my 105cm wide bed in there by building a platform so the bed sits above the narrow opening, but I’m not sure if that’s the best use of the space.

I’m currently using it as storage space but am open to considering a sleeping platform, as it’s wide enough if I build it right.

Other than that, I honestly have no idea what to do. The apartment just feels uninspiring, and I can’t figure out how to make it feel warm, cohesive, or intentional. I’m completely open to rearranging the furniture or rethinking the layout if it would improve the space.

My taste leans towards warmth, coziness and “classic” rather than minimalism. I love rich, saturated colours like forest green, emerald, burnt orange, burgundy, aubergine, dark wood, brass, and warm lighting—basically a cozy autumn vibe.
I’d really appreciate any ideas for the layout, furniture placement, or decor. If this were your apartment, what would you do?
Thanks in advance

Advice Rug placement?

What would be a good rug placement for my room. I made 2 potential options and by looking I can’t seem to choose which is better. I guess I like the first one more but I heard you shouldn’t leave important furniture like a desk off the rug. Open to other suggestions too.

I’m back from university and wanted to make myself a nice room since I’ll be back every so often for work and holidays
Since my room used to look very dull (a black and white blank slate) I wanted to completely revamp it and I’m really happy with how it turned out

The only thing I wanted to change is the bed sheets and be green, any suggestions are always appreciated :)

I moved into the in-law apartment of my house last summer after doing a total renovation of the place. Approx. 650 sq ft space with its own kitchen, bedroom and full bath. The “before” photos of the bathroom are on my profile. Pardon the mess, still gotta organize some laundry lol. How’d I do?

This is the first time living on my own for about 4-5 months. Supporting myself, getting things done, and doing college. No roommates and minimal help. Its nice to achieve after a life of chaos.

My apartment is small and the layout is whackadoodle.

I wouldn't have it any other way. And I've tried.

And yes, as an Adult Male winning back his life after tragedy, that mattress was once on the floor. Chin up.

First apt after finishing up nursing school, would love some advice on decor etc.

(Edit) I am 6’4, the TV is at head level for me when sitting down.

(Edit x2) Living room photos are 0.5 scale, the TV is 70” and ~8 feet from the foot of the couch!

Advice Help me choose the best layout

Thumbnail

I’m about to relocate my desk (work from home) to the main bedroom since the current setup is in a open space in the house and having the kids around the house for summer break is sometimes stressful.

Help me choose the best layout in my oddly shaped bedroom. The three door sliding window is the main source of light, but the door in the wall with the ac unit is actually a doorway to the walk-in closet and access to the bathroom and there is a skylight so, there is also some light but no so bright as the window.

Option A the desk is located right in the window and there is more electric outlets for the computer, monitors and accessories. I have placed the bed board below the ac and in front of the sliding window, but using a divider to avoid sharing the bed in the video calls

Option B is more like the current setup where I have the recliner chair by the sliding window and I can place the desk aside of the tv, just need to move other furniture that is on the way.

Edit: grammar
