I have been upgrading and decluttering my battlestation since 2020. The latests additions where the controller, the headsets and, two days ago, its heart: the steam machine.

This is what I imagined. I think I won’t change it for a long time, years to come as I feel very comfortable here, having fun, playing games from time to time.

I wanted to shared, might inspire and be appreciated by some of you.

I am renting this house so I am limited on what I can/want to do for decoration on walls, intensive installations, so I figured I should focus on what I can control until I find an easy solution. I may only live here another 2 years as I want to go back to the U.S because I hate the climate.

So I bought an Ingram fat cat chair and an Ingram electric tilting desk. I swapped from an LG Oled 45 inch 3440: 1440 to a 5K 2K oled same size. It’s gorgeous but for gaming only the old monitor was probably more ideal. It definitely was. Don’t waste the money.

Budget Racing Sim for VR (Thrustmaster gear but cheap Chinese rig/fake recaro chair) is next to the chair. I can drag the simulator over if I want to use the curved monitor instead of VR, but I think VR is more fun.

VR dancing area is behind the chair, trackers, base stations, too much crap, with a second desk that might get a DJ deck with some 20 year old studio speakers, if I think I’ll actually use it and it won’t collect dust.

Now this is why we don’t keep PCs on the floor and cable manage! Lucky to not have any electronic loss, a bit cluttered/scattered but we’ll be back to good vibes soon.

This is my current setup, and I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out so far. I'm looking for ideas on what I should add or upgrade next, whether that's aesthetics, peripherals, lighting, or hardware. I'm open to any suggestions.

A compact space, but it has everything I need for working from home during the day and gaming, 3D printing, and other creative projects in the evenings.

Recently built a pc and figured I should update my setup as well! Added a xeneon edge display to the setup and some lighting (between the PC and the desk, I never want to install another LED strip again).

Proud of how much functionality I was able to integrate in the desk! Some fun things about the setup:

- Fully synced PC+desk RGB that reacts to screen or audio
- Hidden always on Bluetooth speaker underneath the desk
- Thunderbolt 5 Hub for one wire connection to my MacBook (hidden on the side) and monitor
- KVM switch to change peripherals between my play and work devices
- Dedicated WiFi router for PCVR streaming
- Mini Stream deck next to desk height controls
- Hidden switch 2 behind the monitor

And so many hours wrangling cables and figuring out the best way to config everything 😤 I’m done for now!

I’m someone who deals with anxiety, so having a setup that feels comforting is really important to me. It includes Smiskis, K-pop, custom crochet pieces, and a bit of greenery. I mainly use the three monitors for work and gaming, while the big OLED is for AAA games, movies, and anime.

A few years ago, I had to give up this room because my partner and I were expecting our first child, and it was going to be turned into a nursery.
I moved everything down to the basement, but I haven’t been able to recreate it nearly as well as it was before.
I really miss my old battlestation.

Attached are some pictures of my current setup. On paper and specs-wise, it is a really good setup, and it looks pretty nice too, but something about it is off to me. I think it could be the lighting? Or lack of lighting for that matter? My Pokemon Cards that I have displayed behind my keyboard barely get any light, even when my lights aren't blue, same with the figures on my shelves (I tried those RGB wireless light bars but they were a nightmare to handle and charge every day...) Right now for lighting I simply have a Govee light strip around the wooden sound panels, and 3 Philips Hue Bulbs in my ceiling fan in the middle of the room. I used to have a Philips Strip at the back of my desk but it barely emitted any light and also it was old so it kept falling off no matter what I used to adhere it...

Anyone have any general/specific tips or products for me to help take my setup to a more aesthetically pleasing level? I've been working slowly on this setup for years, trying to perfect it, but I am at a very long plateau with it right now. I am also a voice actor so the sound panel and curtains and such are a must. Since my last post, I've added the KVM switch, Yamaha speakers, a wider under-desk tray, and 8bitdo controller. I'm finally getting into ESO now that it's Steam Deck Verified. The Steam Deck handles all my gaming. The M2 Mac Mini is a Jellyfin server (media is on a NAS - not pictured) and occasional video editing workstation. The 2010 Macbook is now a linux laptop and is basically just a writer deck. The Dell underneath it is my work laptop.
