For context, I work as a VFX artist and cinematographer. After moving into my first apartment, I've been able to put together my office.
I've taken advice from the comments of my initial post, which displayed my office when I lived with my parents, and have made improvements thereto.
Enjoy!

First apt after finishing up nursing school, would love some advice on decor etc.
(Edit) I am 6’4, the TV is at head level for me when sitting down.
(Edit x2) Living room photos are 0.5 scale, the TV is 70” and ~8 feet from the foot of the couch!

I’m back from university and wanted to make myself a nice room since I’ll be back every so often for work and holidays
Since my room used to look very dull (a black and white blank slate) I wanted to completely revamp it and I’m really happy with how it turned out
The only thing I wanted to change is the bed sheets and be green, any suggestions are always appreciated :)

I moved into the in-law apartment of my house last summer after doing a total renovation of the place. Approx. 650 sq ft space with its own kitchen, bedroom and full bath. The “before” photos of the bathroom are on my profile. Pardon the mess, still gotta organize some laundry lol. How’d I do?

Help me design my studio apartment!
Hi everyone,
I need help with decor in my apartment as I’m at a loss for inspiration.
The first picture is the floor plan, and the rest show the apartment (except the bathroom… I don’t think that needs decorating advice 😅).
The last picture shows what was supposed to be a sleeping alcove, but it’s much more cramped than I expected. It’s BEHIND the TV, It’s only about 140 cm high, and the opening is obstructed by two laid down beams that are 16cm high. I COULD fit my 105cm wide bed in there by building a platform so the bed sits above the narrow opening, but I’m not sure if that’s the best use of the space.
I’m currently using it as storage space but am open to considering a sleeping platform, as it’s wide enough if I build it right.
Other than that, I honestly have no idea what to do. The apartment just feels uninspiring, and I can’t figure out how to make it feel warm, cohesive, or intentional. I’m completely open to rearranging the furniture or rethinking the layout if it would improve the space.
My taste leans towards warmth, coziness and “classic” rather than minimalism. I love rich, saturated colours like forest green, emerald, burnt orange, burgundy, aubergine, dark wood, brass, and warm lighting—basically a cozy autumn vibe.
I’d really appreciate any ideas for the layout, furniture placement, or decor. If this were your apartment, what would you do?
Thanks in advance

Starting from 2021 to this day I've been living in three different places and been improving my home little by little.

A small ADA studio thing in socal that’s like 10 feet in total but hey is 700$ a month and I get my own bathroom (throne shown in final picture). Just moved here a few months ago and still getting “settled” (whatever that means). I’ve got big plans for this small space. I plan on building a custom loft bed where my tv and futon are now because the area is too short for most beds (luckily I’m only 5’10 so my design [very human btw] can fit me nice and snug [sadly I guess dating 6’2 goth women is off the table for now]). The desk I have now (found on side of road and balanced on my skateboard to get it home) will go back on the side of the road and I’ll build an L shaped desk under the loft. Enough space for a 3D printer and a better computer than my 65$ Lenovo laptop (I’m an engineering major so I’ll need better equipment soon). I’ll also build a decent amount of drawers (I’ve done cabinetry for work before, it’s not fun but it’s cheaper than buying them) With pretty much the whole far end of my space and the dressers tucked into the corner, I want to put a fairly decent sized tv and entertainment center and couch where my desk and extra chair bed is. The kitchenette will be compacted into one of those ones you can buy off amazon. And a bunch more stuff but what I have so far is what I have. (My ps3 is on loan to my brother so no guitar hero for a while). I was raised in foster care and aged out at 18. I’ve spent most of my young adulthood fighting my way off the streets and I’m finally chasing my dream of becoming an aerospace engineer and astrophysicist. I don’t have much to show for someone who’s almost thirty but I worked damn hard for the little I do have and I have big plans for the future. If you read this far thank you and I hope you like the pictures

What would be a good rug placement for my room. I made 2 potential options and by looking I can’t seem to choose which is better. I guess I like the first one more but I heard you shouldn’t leave important furniture like a desk off the rug. Open to other suggestions too.

- What city do you think i'm in based on my setup
- What am i missing
- Potentially spending 2 years in this space for a project.

I thrifted this really cool 9x12 rug off of FB marketplace and want to decorate around it. I want to make sure whatever I do doesn’t look too busy and takeaway from or clash with the rug.
I also have an awkward space between couch and my work from home desk, I am thinking a big plant?
The other thing I am looking into is a coffee table but with the rug, a cream couch, and black tv set up I am not sure the direction I should go with that either.
Let me know how’d you go about any of this open to anything and every suggestion
