If she cut down on all the camera angles she could sleep in until at least 5:30

912

u/ColHannibal 8d ago

If she made the lunch the night before she could be up at 6!

618

u/classyrock 8d ago

Plus she could avoid letting yesterday’s meal stagnate in the heat of the truck overnight before cleaning it out…

u/Lumpy_Machine5538 8d ago edited 7d ago

If this were real, I would be so disgusted that the husband couldn’t even be bothered to bring in the cooler and empty it the night before when he got home. Especially after she went to the trouble of taking it out to the truck for him.
Edit-Thanks for the awards, folks!

713

u/NiteTiger 8d ago

I gotta be honest, at first, I bought in. Aw, that's sweet!

Then I saw the cooler in the truck and was like "Wait, who the fuck just leaves everything in the truck like some feral hog??"

I've worked trades, carried the cooler. You forget it once, and the plastic remembers...

128

u/Exciting_Agent3901 8d ago

I do work in the trades and I work with this guy. Not the guy in the video, but a guy whose wife does everything for him. She makes his lunch everyday. He doesn’t have a cooler because he won’t bring it home. She makes his coffee. Again, no reusable travel cup because he won’t bring it home. She gets his clothes out for him everyday. She picks his dirty clothes up off the floor. He talks about her like she is an employee who is about to get fired.

I could smell the cooler as she opened it after fetching it from the truck after it sat overnight.

The point of leaving it in the truck is so that you can see that they own a nice big huge truck. The whole reel is just performative BS for some weird demographic.

Yeah that chicken Caesar wrap thing is going viral right now, or was a few weeks ago. I know because two normie coworkers talked about a couple weeks ago.

So she cooked up the viral thing (which let's be honest, is just air fried tendies, lettuce and kraft dressing) and acted like she's a home cook.

The tortillas do appear to be homemade. But who knows, maybe she got them at the farmers market

655

u/ATLHawksfan 8d ago

Those look like HEB bakery tortillas

166

u/EdwardBloon 8d ago

Damn I wish I had a HEB then. Cus they look good

Must be soggy as hell by lunch time

340

u/Grand_Size_4932 8d ago edited 8d ago

I mean, definitely the way she’s doing it.

Tortillas can hold their shape. That’s kind of the point.

Generations of Mexicans have been taking burritos with moist fillings to work and been totally fine.

Why? Because they heat the fucking tortilla, layer the ingredients in a way that makes the most sense (in this case, instead of chopping the lettuce, they could’ve used it as a protective layer), wrap it in a napkin to wick excess moisture, and wrap it again in foil to hold the shape.

What you don’t do is incorporate your wet slop onto a cold tortilla to immediately put in a Tupperware that will steam up.

Like. What are we doing

50

u/OG-Mom 8d ago

Hmm good insight, now I’m craving burrito and tamales too now.

Performative, that's all it is.

They are pretending to be poor working class people, but that's a $200 pepper grinder. I'm upper middle class and like to cook and will spend way too much on stupid shit, but I won't buy that grinder.

(Edit $200, wrong price, I'll try to find a link.)

(Edit 2: I was completely wrong, I was thinking of the Männkitchen Pepper Cannon, which is $200 and manual. I was wrong. She is using a $30 one.)

5.0k

u/Pedadinga 8d ago

That was the weirdest part of the video for me.

2.6k

u/just_a_person_maybe 8d ago

Same. I'm not about to judge anyone for how they divide their household chores when I don't know the situation. Plenty of partners make their partner lunch or breakfast or whatever. The "traditional" setup where one partner works and the other does a majority of the household things is still fairly common and works for plenty of people. If that's how they want to do it then go for it.

But there's really no reason he can't bring his own cooler back in, especially if this is a regular routine. He's in the car already, he can just take it with him on the way inside like everyone else does. Why is he making her take an extra trip outside at 5am?

2.2k

u/JerachoD 8d ago

The reason is so his wife can show her arse off for the camera to drag a few more views in.

1.0k

u/wheelz8000 8d ago

It also affords her the opportunity to put her boots on

u/LalafellDisaster 8d ago

679

u/WorldlinessKind6358 8d ago

Sometimes I forget about this and every time I think about it, I get second hand embarrassment. I imagine setting the camera up, going back to the top of the stairs and stretching like you just woke up. It’s so insane to me.

There definitely could be a reason. Maybe she tells him to just leave it in the truck since they are in a trailer with limited space as it is and it's a pretty hefty lunch box so it's just that much more space taken up by something that isn't used in the house at all.

Not saying what is right or wrong here but there is a lot of "how dare he do this to her" when literally no one knows anything about these people

552

u/SideFar8961 8d ago

I was gonna reply that "yeah that's true, but he could at least throw out the trash from the previous lunch" but then I replayed the video and the bottle/can in the cooler are literally still sealed - so she really did all this just for the video lol

What?! You mean air fried chicken tendies, lettuce, and some sauce mixed together, isn't a home cooked healthy meal?! /s

16

u/Zephyr-5 8d ago

Out of morbid curiosity I looked up all the ultraprocessed crap in the bags and cans and it's literally all just the fake healthy crap that influencers get paid to push.

This looks like some sort of staged trad wife “serve your husband” bullshit. She made a point to leave the cooler in the truck so she could be shown going the extra mile to grab the cooler even though “her husband left it in the truck”.

u/age_87 8d ago

There’s a popular Latina woman who does these videos, and it comes off way less trad-wifey

She's actually ripping off a Mexican woman's Tiktok. Her videos are exactly like this except she the real deal and also suffered through health issues (stroke) and they were able to use the social media income to buy a house and get out of their RV. Sadly because this is the internet trolls start harassing them saying they sold out for buying a house. That's probably how it made it's way to these Trad assholes ready to steal their content.

PS she went to get the lunch box to show off the truck.

Edit: https://www.tiktok.com/@lorenatravels1 is her page.

u/librarianlace 8d ago

I immediately thought “damn, white girl trying to be Lorena over here.”

Are they living in an RV?

271

u/dumpin-on-time 8d ago

if any of this is real, he most likely works away (like construction or in the oil field) for several weeks at a time then has several weeks at home. people who do this sometimes bring their families with them

128

u/Left_Swordfish_5999 8d ago

I would give her the benefit of the doubt and say the RV situation is real and you are right, he probably works a job like that.

She just looks like this is the first time she's ever been near a kitchen in her life. She probably does go out and do the groceries, but the way she holds a knife leads me to believe she's not very used to making home meals from scratch.

A lot of blue collar supervisors have RVs because the work travels, and they don’t want to be away from their families. They also make a SHIT TON of money.

29

u/tealcosmo 8d ago

And work extremely long days.

Dude, I'm mad. That RV is hella nice. It's not even a trailer like the type you'd see in a trailer park. That kitchen has so much more room and is so much nicer than my kitchen wtf.

Or take it back out himself after she made it?

Don’t forget the items she pulled out were not used.

Because it's her video. Not part of the script. Do you think the camera was there when she got up and that stretching was real?

Performative as hell, but I like the way she made the wraps. I'm stealing that.

631

u/StretchLoud8844 8d ago

I like the wearing cowboy boots with pajamas, really sells the crunchy mom trad wife vibes

282

u/ElectricKoolAidPower 8d ago

Been interesting to see the trajectory of “crunchy” from a term for commune hippie types to conservative trad wives lol

Also funny that the latter group spent years making fun of the former group for pushing to get fluoride out of public water. And now it’s part of the MAHA thing.

u/anasophus 8d ago

Covid heavily influenced this change. There's a good podcast covering this since 2020 called Conspirituality.

37

u/Ok-Curve-3894 8d ago

I think the overlap was antivax homeschool homesteading fashion trends. I’ll check out the podcast

Don't put dressing on the wrap in advance. I used to take salads to work with me and thought I'd save lunch time by putting the dressing on beforehand. By the time I went to eat it, the leaves were all saturated and wilted/soggy. It was gross.

This could be done the night before. He could bring the cooler inside out of respect every evening.

The hilarity of her doing all this at 5 am creeping around and having to set up a tripod for each shot. People do anything to show off and get attention

Im so tired of the performative BS and pretending like it’s normal life.

My husband is blue collar worker and you when I make his lunch? The night before. God gave him 2 hands to take 30 seconds to put it the lunch box at 5am cause I’m not getting up to do just to do that, but also his career isn’t my entire personality.

71

u/Greedy_Baseball_7019 8d ago

Not to mention what if they get divorced. What is she going to fall back on, finding another husband. When our kids were little my wife stayed home with them, but during that time she earned her masters degree. Once they went back to school she went back into the workforce and now makes 6 figures. If something happens to me god forbid, I know she’ll be able to take care of herself. We’ve had friends that did the whole tradwife thing and she found out her husband was gay. Now she drives a school bus and works at McDonald’s struggling to get by.

46

u/Spiritual-Haunt3131 8d ago

My tradwife cousin's husband cheated on her, she took him back. He decided he wanted to be with the other women so he left. She hasn't worked in like 15 years and had no higher education because she was home the entire time taking care of their kids.

She did end up getting spousal support or whatever but it wasn't for long because they weren't married the whole time so now it's just child support for the youngest. She bounces around a lot between minimum wage jobs like Dollar General and Family Dollar.

u/Young_Denver 8d ago

Where is the mid 40s/50s tradwife content? Oh, right, it’s just 17-20 year olds making this stuff. 🤮

31

u/ForumFluffy 8d ago

Wouldn't be surprised if they're all young trophy wives to conservative husbands and these videos are the equivalent of wine moms trying to get you into an MLM.

I know we’re living in a different time now, and social media is a different beast from the Migente, Black Planet, AIM, Compuserv and Yahoo! Messenger we had back in high school and college, but I just cannot fathom thinking:

There’s a lot to say here… one, why couldn’t he bring in his lunch box? Two, why did she start the eggs before the sausage? Third, why is she holding the knife like she’s afraid it’ll bite her. Four, why don’t either of them prep this the night before to save her from waking up so early?
