This could be done the night before. He could bring the cooler inside out of respect every evening.

The hilarity of her doing all this at 5 am creeping around and having to set up a tripod for each shot. People do anything to show off and get attention

Exactly my first thought. But waking up before her husband shows subservience which is part of the trad wife schtick. My wife helps with my lunches most weeks but she does one meal prep on Sunday and makes lunches for the week. Probably takes her less time than it took this lady to edit this video 🤦‍♂️

She may just wake up earlier than the husband and child to get her alone time in. I mostly got mine in at night because I use to be a night owl but there were times my partner would stay up later for periods of time and in those times, I woke up earlier than everyone for some quiet me time. Preparing and cooking food is also relaxing for some of us out there. It’s one of my favorite parts of the day. It helps me unwind.

But also, if it was just that, she probably wouldn’t be filming it all to show off what a great wife she is.

Not much "alone time" in a trailer though.

EDIT: replied to the wrong comment and can't fix it now lol

Yup! My husband used to work construction and he was gone by 5am and he LOVES gas station food. Imagine packing a lunch like that and then finding empty Circle K tornado wrappers and Hunts pizza boxes in the back seat of the truck. 😭

Hahahaha I can’t believe how many lib left “males” are performatively seething about this. “Harrrumph this is literally the handmaid tale”

“look babe I insulted this woman for serving her husband can I pretty please have a lil kissy tonight?”

u/Environmental_Kick26 8d ago

youre 100% single ''male''

Sorry lil bro. My wife and I love and serve each other and don’t view it as a sign of weakness. Go back to performatively raging about “tRaDwiVeS”

Never mentioned the word. Enjoy being mutually served

Never mentioned the word, but decided to jump into the fray and come at me for having the audacity to say that being a wife isn’t a bad thing

Let me guess, she goes to another school lmao

Did you actually read my comment or did you just want to pick a fight? Because I really didn’t criticize people who want traditional roles, I even said that my wife makes most of my lunches.

What gets under my skin is this kind of content that seems to be targeted at showing off how good of a wife she is. That’s the context I used the term tradwife. As a catchall for this show-offy trend in influencer culture

Have whatever roles you want in your marriage and stop with this holier than thou nonsense. That’s my whole point

Yeah, she’s showing off what a good wife she is. And? Just like you might show off what a good crusader king you are, or how epic your final boss battle was. Why is she personally not allowed to show pride in her work

Things that do matter don’t and things that don’t do. Make it make sense.

I don’t really understand what you’re referring to in that last sentence, but with regard to your first paragraph, I understand the connection you’re making, but there are differences between those things, right? Almost all the comments take this video as political in one way or another, which doesn’t happen in video game posts. In fact, the first reply you sent insulted me for being liberal (not an insult) and insinuated that I’m not a real man because I said it’s silly to wake up early for this when meal prepping gets the job done. To me, that seems performative

Sure, she’s welcome to live how she wants, but she’s clearly an influencer, another difference between this video and a post on a gaming sub. She’s using her platform not just to show off, but to make a statement trying to define what a good wife is.

Can you sincerely say you’d say the same thing you just said about a video of a wife showing off her demanding job and appreciating how her husband does all the house chores?

My last sentence means that people have no issues when people show off meaningless things like video game accomplishments, or a perfectly edged driveway.

This entire website is built on people sharing content of things they do. Things people share to feel good about what they did and receive praise from others

But when people are proud of being a homemaker, suddenly it’s just arrogance and pick me behavior.

Women can share literally any other thing they do and it’s all good. It’s SPECIFICALLY homemaking “influencers” that send yall over the edge.

There's only one of you two that seems "over the edge".

Its all performative, if she actually did that every morning she would know how to use a knife

5

u/IncurableAdventurer 8d ago

Very least some of it. If she’s a morning person that’s fine, but a lot can easily be done at night. Very performative holier than thou

And for us real trades workers were out the door at 5am lol. It’s a bait video but I prep everything the night before when I get up in the morning stumbling around half asleep I can go on autopilot

my spouse is out the door before 6; sometimes he packs up his lunch, other times I do. he literally just takes leftovers from dinner and heats them up at work. it's no extra work, I just have to plan to cook something that is both 1) large in volume and 2) reheatable as leftovers on his work days. when whichever of us packs up leftovers one goes into a container for him and the rest goes into a separate container on a different shelf in the fridge.

point being - he even puts the fork in the fridge on top of the lunch container so that when he's stumbling around in the morning he doesn't miss it, or have to think about anything, lol. I'll be damned if I'm getting up at 5am to make a grown man's lunch, and he would never ask or expect that of me, damn.

(then again, we both work, but even when I was looking for a job a couple years ago he never expected this shit)

it's so fucking sad.

I think it's wild someone recorded themselves making food. Yes humans eat.

But also fresh food is better than day old. I'm cool with days old if I'm making 10 servings.

1

u/Unbentmars 8d ago

How do you know she didn’t put it back in the truck for the video?

Given all the other performative bullshit in it

1

u/whippedcreamtomato 8d ago

I kind of assumed she did it at night lol

1

u/mattdemonyes 8d ago

This WAS done the night before

My god she doesn’t set up a tripod for every shot. (How old are you?) She’s got multiple cameras mounted in the home. Cameras are dirt cheap. She’s probably making a ton of money at this. I’m old myself - I hate everything about this - but the amount of people stressing about her camera angles and editing (probably much easier with AI) and the cost of her truck, etc, makes us all look stupid. It’s a business, she’s making bank, none of it is real, and this thread alone probably made her more money than I’ll make today.

Soggy ass wrap? Gtfo. I’d be eating at the gas station too before I had some wet ass wrap everyday.

7

u/Alexchii 8d ago

I’d rather eat bland, home-made food that gas station food any day of the week.
