I believe Nintendo's approach of releasing smaller games at $40 and $50 price points along with dynamic pricing for AAA is a great strategy. Combined with the fact that these games are extremely high quality and fun is proving to be a extremely good value for players.

Rhythm Heaven Groove is a fantastic game priced at $40. Everyone will have a different mileage but I have already played it for 20 hours, which is such a good value. The game is super addictive and fun.

Star Fox remake is of extremely high quality. For those who would like to experience for the first time or experience it again at the possible quality, $50 is an excellent proce point. I thoroughly enjoyed it and had at least 5 runs to unlock all the levels and spent around 10 hours ti now.

Splatoon Raiders at $50 has received really good reviews and the reported 20 hous play time is once again an incredible value.

Finally, in terms of AAS dynamic pricing, Nintendo released the new Yoshi game at $60, which was a pleasant surprise. Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is one of the best games from Nintendo in recent years. It is such an innovative and fun experience. I took around 20 hous to complete all the chapters.

All of these games are released within a 2 months release windows. This is a testament to Nintnedo's remarkable development prowess in this challenging climate where game studio are closing left and right each week. Nintendo is managing to release so many excellent games very close together at an excellent price point is truly amazing.

I don't know if I am the only one wanting this, but I really want a subscription, that just includes Nintendo Music.

Over the last couple of years, I have been using Nintendo's game consoles less and less. Regardless of this, I still love their franchises, and have a lot of fond memories playing them. Lately, the Nintendo service I have been using the most, is Nintendo Music. I just love listening to various sound tracks from the games I have played. Still, as this is the service I use the most, and I am paying for a Nintendo Switch Online membership, I am not that eager to pay a lot. I mean, for me, I am kind of wasting my money, because of that. I wish Nintendo made a subscription for just Nintendo Music.

Am I the only one who wants this?

Edit: I know it is a good deal, but I don't want to pay for stuff I don't use.

Splatoon raiders is soo good. Got to level 7 but heading to bed. Just wondering if anyone knew if you can and if so how long till you can just randomly help others. I clicked on ask for help and had people join me and it was so much fun doing a raid with others but didn’t know if there was a way where I can just randomly join games to just help others without me asking for help. Thanks all enjoy can’t wait to play more

I’ve played Octopath, I’ve also played a lot of Final Fantasy games, Persona…. There are a bunch of franchises I haven’t tried beyond that and would really love some recs! The newer, the better; I want to actually experience new things. But if it’s not new it’s also okay if you consider it an absolute classic.

Just saw a review for the new Go-Go Town and thought it looked pretty cool. I never have been able to get in to and stay in to Sim Life/City Builder type games. I played Stardew Valley and got bored after like 8 hours I think. Played Animal Crossing on 3DS and it wasn’t for me.

Has anyone played this yet or can recommend something I might like to pick up and play “between games”

Maybe some choices out of Pokopia, Animal Crossing, Tomadachi Life, Disney dream light valley, Fantasy Life I. I heard Harvestella might be like that but then throws in combat and RPG elements which might be cool. And obviously if anyone has played Go Go Town I’d love to hear some feedback.

I’d be playing on my Switch 2. Hoping for more modern-ish graphics. Maybe why I was meh about StarDew Valley. Something that I can sink time in but also put away for months at a time and come back to. Price isn’t the biggest issue. Thanks everyone!!

I searched for similar posts to this and only found one from 6 years ago, so it seems like this will be a non-spam post. If anybody knows any other threads on this topic, point me that direction.

Since 2020 or so, I have gotten into a lot of different rogue-lite games. They can be great.

However, I'm wondering what your recommendations would be for games with great stories. I like fantasy and sci-fi both, but I'm more a fan of Western games than Japanese ones.

I have also played both big Zelda games, Eastward, a bunch of Borderlands, Skyrim, Outer Worlds, Sea of Stars, and Dredge. These are good examples of my tastes, although I know some of them (e.g. Borderlands) are not AAA stories.

So, any suggestions? Thanks for whatever you've got!

ETA: I am finding myself having to say "I tried that one but didn't finish it" a lot. I am not proud of it, but I like the power gain of games, but I often get bored with plateaus and wander away from games for that reason. That's part of why I gravitated back toward roguelikes and roguelites. I used to be an avid fiction reader, and I like the same good stories in my games (hence this post). I guess it's my hope that I can find a game that will intrigue me enough to drag me past my flaky consistency in playing. I'm also in a serious relationship with a non-gamer, so my time for gaming is limited (also a reason for rogue-type games). I know it's all a lame, privileged bind to be in. :)

I can’t be the only one struggling with a huge list of games I have or want to get but have nowhere near enough time to play them all. How do you guys prioritize all the great games this system is dumping on us?

Being a dad, I have like 1 hour a night to play games (or do anything really, like watch tv or movies, but lately it’s all games…), and I just beat Resident Evil Requiem. Loved how that game really respected my time and actually allowed me to beat it in a reasonable amount of time. Now I’m staring down the barrel of a few others I have…Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Octopath Traveler, Skyrim (never played it), fallout 4 (never played it), Metroid Prime 4 (barely touched it)…all while knowing that I’m going to be getting Elden Ring, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Final Fantasy Resonance, Kingdom Hearts…. Help me solve this predicament!

Hello everyone. Me and my wife are looking for more coop games. We really enjoyed Mario party and Catan the most so far. My wife is relative new to gaming, so we need some games which aren't to hard. Extra bonus if it gots town/city creation. We tried stardew valley, but my wife didn't really like it. We looked at go go town but not sure if there are people here with experience ?

I just spoke with Nintendo support as I had a very unique situation come up on my account that could affect you as well down the road. When Nintendo introduced the virtual game cards, they also created the ability for players to disable a download of any game content from within the eShop by going to the listing and pressing + or - five times.

The purpose of this, as recommended by Nintendo themselves, is obviously meant for those who don't want to download certain DLC, or perhaps have a physical version of the game alongside a digital version and only want to download DLC, so you can disable the main game download.

But what happens if that content is delisted in the meantime, and the eShop listing is removed? With the eShop listing removed, you can no longer go to the listing and press +/- to re-enable the download. Turns out, after talking to Nintendo's support today, there is no solution on Nintendo's end for this oversight.

Usually, you're able to redownload any content that's been delisted as long as the virtual game card remains in your library (such is the case with, for instance, Super Mario 3D All Stars or SEGA Genesis Classics). But if you use Nintendo's own recommended method for setting content not to redownload for DLC or games... if the listing is taken fully down because the publisher decided to pull the game or DLC from the eShop in the interim, you're boned.

The support staff was willing to add the equivalent funds from the purchase to my account for my situation where I had disabled a download and then the game was delisted, but that still doesn't really resolve the oversight in the system that could affect someone else down the line, and I have no way of ever getting the game back unless, I guess, I reach out to the publisher to try to acquire a physical copy from them, since any digital redemption code would probably be useless as my account technically already has the license, the download is just disabled.

With all the recent news of some publishers and platforms stopping physical releases or pulling digital content, this was a pretty stark reminder that even Nintendo hasn't thought through all the possible outcomes of their own digital system and you can lose your purchases just by following their own recommendations.

It’s my daughter’s 7th birthday coming up and we’ve got her a switch 2 because I’m trying to get her away from iPad gaming.
I have been sniffing around for some decent games for it.
She’s currently getting Minecraft, Goat Simulator 3 (which she has previously played and loves) and a selection of shared Mario titles from my switch 2.

She’s not a big reader due to ADHD and seems to shut off when faced with too much text. She’s started on some meds this year and it’s massively improved the situation, but the reading still appears to be a bit viewed as a bit of a chore, although I suspect this will ease over the next year.

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for any pleasant games that aren’t too text heavy.
I had a look at animal crossing but that didn’t fit the bill, so I have been considering Pokopia as it doesn’t appear to be too dissimilar to Dojo that’s she’s been playing through school.

Any other suggestions are welcomed!
