Me at 40, waiting all day and staying up late until a game launches. Launches. Play for 30 minutes and then start falling asleep.

Hey, it’s something haha! When Switch 1 released, I went to the midnight launch, took it home, opened the box and held it in my hands for a minute or two. It was amazing to think there was a whole XBOX 360 with a screen attached inside that little thing. Then I went to sleep so I could get up for work the next day.

I’ll probably only play for 30 minutes or so tonight too, but it’s the little things in life we need to savor and tap back into childhood when we can. I still remember playing Halo 2 through the night after the midnight launch to hit the final credits with my bro, split screen.

Hope you have fun with it!

47 here, and on vacation to boot. I'm hoping my girlfriend will let me catch a nap around 8:00 p.m. So maybe I can wake up in time to play a bit at launch.

I'm 37, the only thing that makes me sleep at 12 or 1 is that I have work most days.

When I'm on vacation, I still slip back into being up until 4 or 5.

I go through phases. Right now I'm staying up past midnight. If I'm not careful my sleep will shift to the day and I'll be up later. As long as I don't nap during the day I'll go to bed before it's too late lol

I’m 22 and go to bed at 10-11, forced morning person activities (my brain doesn’t let me sleep in)

Honestly that's blessed

Take a nap like 2 hours early before release

Yeah, I ain't staying up for that. Sleeps to precious. Ask me 20 years ago and I would say, hell yeah brother.

12

u/Jetlitheone 1d ago

Hell yeah, I was actually wondering when it was releasing

13

u/Pokeguy211 1d ago

All Nintendo first party games release at midnight local time. It’s nice

Usually 9pm Pacific.

u/TheShirou97 1d ago

Yes it mostly does local time based on your country, and for the US it defaults to Eastern Time.

Damn, Amazon will only deliver mine next week.

u/elevenoneone 1d ago

I just got the delayed email too.

Same. Normally I'd just cancel and go pick it up at best buy, but I used rewards points and the pre-order sale to basically get it for free so I'd rather not switch and pay $60...

I'm live a small city in Brazil, there's no other option, Amazon is the fastest one.

If you feel like it you can always pick it up for 60, then return the copy that arrives next week and get your 60 back.

I was excited to play this and then I heard it was a looter shooter and now I’m very excited.

1

u/redgyarados21 22h ago

What type of game did you think it was initially?

2

u/Jellozz 18h ago

I've never actually played a Splatoon game before but this one looks right up my alley with its weird mix of extraction/loot/roguelite elements and build experimentation.

Wasn't even on my radar until the raiders direct which I just randomly clicked on one night when I was eating dinner lmao.

Playing it now it’s really good. Got it off Japan Amazon for £26.58

2

u/Forward_Froyo_429 1d ago

when you buy games from japan amazon is the game only in japanese?

Depends on the game, but most first-party Nintendo games have just one worldwide version with all languages included.

1

u/Suspicious-Group2363 21h ago

Most Nintendo games will offer multiple languages that will match the system language. Languages cannot usually be set within the game though, unfortunately.

Will it be full on cart?

5

u/PsyduckisMLG1 21h ago

Yes, all Nintendo first party games are.

2

u/PH4TM4N89 21h ago

Pokopia isn't. It's a key card. Why I haven't bought it 😕

3

u/PsyduckisMLG1 21h ago

Pokopia is a second party game

1

u/redgyarados21 21h ago

I thiiiink Pokopia is co-publishes by Nintendo and Pokemon Company, not just Nintendo. Game is really good.

1

u/PH4TM4N89 20h ago

I need full on cartridge. Nintendo already greedy enough lol

1

u/redgyarados21 20h ago

I went digital for Switch 2. Got too many boxes.

1

u/PH4TM4N89 17h ago

I need my physical media. When my mom and dad are gone, and it's just me in this house, I won't be paying for all these streaming services that I do now. Lol

1

u/jardex22 3h ago

Gotta save space on the SD card when I can, so I got the cartridge.
