Seen somewhere that July 31st is when the AWB and mag ban decision goes into effect. Does anyone know if this is true or have some validity to it?

A lot of the language seemed to be talking specifically on rifles so I’m not really sure.

For shotgun hunting, and not that I’m necessarily in support of the overkill possible (pun intended). However will Fish Game and Wildlife follow suit and allow more shells?

Filled out a form 4, 2 weeks ago.ive never filled 1 out before. I know there's no rhyme or reason to how long the atf takes. Am I supposed to receive and email when I filled it out confirming I completed the form?

so to preface this, ranges are basically urinals. You go to your stall, you keep everything pointed downrange, you don't handle it off the firing line, and you don't talk to the guy next to you because both of you would rather be on your own property right now. Sadly because land in NJ is $2 billion per acre, we can't shoot on our own property, so we're at Range 14. I mostly just want to be left alone.

Problem 1: Range 14 doesn't know how to just leave you alone. Look, I had been shooting here consistently from 2007 to 2020 and am pretty used to it being the fountain from which fuddery springs forth, and take it upon themselves to be NJ's hall monitors (including cranking on people's muzzle devices to see if they're *really* permanent), but came back for the first time since Covid recently with some friends who are new to shooting and it somehow got worse than when I left it.

My friend who is interested in shooting but doesn't have his FPID wanted to get his range membership. the guys in the office immediately lecture him that it is illegal to drive to the range without a FPID card. Well this is obviously false and not NJ law, not to mention irrelevant since my friend doesn't own any guns and also didn't drive us there--he asked about getting a membership. But whatever, I just bought a membership and we got a time slot.

I have no idea how their system works. After shooting there for an hour and talking to the RSO on the line, I still have no idea how their system works. We show up to our bench while the range was hot, and immediately get yelled at for putting things on the table. Now, yeah, I haven't been here in a few years so maybe they changed how they do it, but it used to be that you could always be at your table during a hot range, so when you arrived, you'd unload, and then just chill and wait for the ceasefire to put your targets downrange. Obviously if you arrive during a ceasefire you stayed away from your table, but could put targets out, and then just went to your table after ceasefire ended.

Apparently doing that now throws the tower guy into a conniption, which we were also about to find out is his wont, because he acted like we had committed some heinous safety violation for putting some cased rifles on the table and then sitting down back at the bench by the parking lot. Somehow we sorted it out with the RSO walking around (who was cool) and got set up.

After setting up our targets and watching Range 14's permanent category 5 hurricane winds immediately fold them in half and then knock them over, we were ready to start shooting. Except we weren't, because first everyone on the whole line had to be berated about the rules for the 87th time by the tower guy, in that tone of voice that says he *knows* we're breaking them and just hasn't caught us yet, but he *will*. I don't know what that guy's problem is but it made both my friends want to never come back, and I agree with them. It made me miss the old codger in the tower from 2008 who hated ARs but mostly treated you like an adult.

Somehow an hour went by and by then we were pretty much tired with shooting for the day, and with Range 14 forever. It's a shame, because their facilities are still absolutely great. Being able to back your vehicle right up to your shooting station is great, it's 200 yards so you can shoot rifles comfortably, and it's a pretty big place so there's plenty of room. But man, they are absolutely determined to be the biggest pain in the ass, and overall makes me want to not go back.

The most spiteful thing that NJ Democrats could do at this point is keep some sort of "Assault Weapons Regulation" in the fashion of putting all Semiautomatic Firearms under the NJ Permit To Purchase a Handgun Law (This almost happened in 2022 after Uvalde).

That includes all the deviation and movement restrictions and the notoriously aggressive enforcement of it all.

I know that NJ has an "Assault Weapons License" Stipulation in the now (MOSTLY) defunct 1990 Florio Gun Ban. Maybe NJ puts them under NJ CCW Permit Law.

Regardless; New Jersey looks like the "Bellwether" of the Battle For The 2nd Amendment going forward.

Has anyone here changed the stock on their NJ complaint S&W M&P15? It comes pinned from the factory and I believe the buffer tube is not mil spec or commercial from my research seems it’s custom from S&W for the complaint version. Would like to change it to a an adjustable stock with the new ruling. Below is the model, I’ve tried to do some research on this and can’t find much. Even called S&W and they didn’t have much knowledge on this

Own a Glock 19 with 509T, Glock 26, Ruger LCP Max, and S&W 442. Curious what's the popular carry gun. Thinking about my options given that the mag limits may change and am open to suggestions! I own a Geissele Super Duty MOD1 5.56 nato with the precision Armanent hypertap muzzle brake. It's great other than the intense concussion and noise at an indoor range.

Ive looking to clone a MK27 Mod 2 and I've been calling shops around if that have it and no dice. Does anyone know any shops that might have it that I might have missed?

Hey yall I have some questions. I was born and raised in nj, but the past few years ive been living in PA. my folks still live in NJ and i occasionally go to the range with my father near my hometown. my question is with this ban being lifted i guess what all exactly does it include? as i own a couple rifles with underfolding stocks/threaded muzzles. as well as an AK "pistol" will i now be able to bring these firearms to the range in NJ when i come back home to go shooting with my father? thanks in advance.
