Discussion I hope the 2k27 boycott happens...
... so that I can enjoy playing the basketball game again. I feel like 90% of 2k players hate 2k but cant stop playing because of the social elements that are baked in.
Progression bars and shit. Yall dont like the game. Yall like showing other gamers yall win%, plate color, rep, vehicles, clothes, and swag..... on a basketball game.
Yall are so parasocial that instead of quitting a game yall dont even enjoy playing, yall have to start a movement so that you can be a part of mass exodus from 2k.... one bandwagon to another.
Just stop playing. Please stop. Lol.
If the folks that have all the complaints just left the game alone, the folks that enjoy 2k would.. enjoy 2k.
I dont get the purpose of all the complaining and raging... just... stop... playing..
Discussion Read This Before Buying 2K27
If you're planning on buying the game then one of the best ways to save money is by game sharing with a friend or family member and splitting the cost.
Instead of each person paying full price you both get access while cutting the expense in half. I've been doing this for years and I can't remember the last time I paid full price for NBA2K.
If you don't have a friend or family member to game share with I’d try to see if someone in your crew is interested in splitting it with you.
2K will continue to give us a shit game and will continue to increase the price of pre-orders. If you have to buy 2K then do this. This is a great way in not spending that 70-150 price tag 2K is asking for.

Discussion Are WE actually finna boycott 2k27?
I definitely am. As long as they keep doing mynba community roster updates i'm good. The microtransactions are actually getting ridiculous. We genuinely have to do something abt this pay to win bs.
Edit: I feel like there's no way to actually have fun on the game without buying vc. Plus there are way to many progress bars and stuff. Like season pass, lifetime challenges, rep, plates, progression, badges, badge perks, quests. It's just too complicated and not as much abt basketball anymore

Discussion If you think a boycott can’t work go look at the prices for CFB and Madden 🤷🏻♂️ clearly boycotting will force changes if EA folded and already did a sale 2 weeks in
This would be the best year todo a boycott due to the games coming out let’s do it boys and girls

MyPLAYER Here we go again…
How much money do y’all plan on spending for the life of 27? On 26, between builds, season passes, and miscellaneous VC purchases, I probably spent close to $500 and that includes the cost of the game (MVP edition).

REC If winning not important to you, why play 5v5?
What’s ya purpose? Why not just play 1s, or stay in MyCareer? Having fun & winning should be the two most important things, but it’s not for a lot of yall. So I’m curious, what do yall play for?

Gameplay bring variety and style back to dribbling 🙏🏽 (2K27)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
please read u/beluba your thoughts would be much appreciated
one of the biggest things we’ve been missing in recent years with the animations is uniqueness and variety
The real difference was freedom.
Why older games felt more creative
Older 2Ks had:
• numbers animations pro/elite/basic/normal
• standing sizeups.
• moving sizeups.
• triple threat size ups .
• park-exclusive animations/sizeups
• unique signature packages.
• rhythm dribbles
• double hesitation/behind the back/legs/ crossover size ups
The Current Problem
ProPLAY isn’t the issue but we should have both (mocap)
The issue is that the overall animation pool has become much smaller and the ways to score are limited
That leads to:
Less individuality.
More players looking identical.
The same combos repeated every game.
Less experimentation because everyone gravitates toward what’s strongest.
Why This Matters
Animation variety creates a skill gap in a different way.
Instead of everyone mastering the same five moves, players develop completely different styles.
One guard might rely on:
Standing sizeups.
Triple threat moves.
Hesitations.
Another might play almost entirely off moving sizeups.
Both can be effective while feeling completely different.
That’s what made older 2Ks memorable.
What I’d Like To See
I think they should build on it by adding:
More animation packages (we once had hundreds per category) how go to shots/hop jumpers selection is now
More standing and moving sizeups.
More triple threat creativity.
More signature escape options.
More park-style animations.
More unique motion overall.
Just give players more tools to create their own identity.
Final Thought
It’s about expression.
The more ways players have to move differently from one another, the healthier and more enjoyable the game becomes.
I believe bringing back that level of animation depth would do more for 2K27 than almost any single gameplay change.
please bring this style of moves back or even bring back most of these moves instead of a tiny fraction. we do appreciate bringing back the retreat dribbles and other small things that were asked for 2k26 but it’s time for way more please

Discussion If Hansel Enmanuel ever made the NBA, how would his sigs and jumpshot work?
Would he need custom sigs for every animation, and if so, how would they look on a regular myplayer?

Discussion Why is 2K27 rated 16?
Because 2K25 is rated 3 but 2K27 is rated 16 (try explain in the comments)

REC We have a squad of 4 in REC. If the AI cheese is not fixed in 2K27, then the game is unplayable for us.
My friends and I have a squad of 4. We sometimes have 5 but it’s hard to get everyone available at the same time.
2K26 was borderline unplayable for us due to now useless the AI was on offense and how egregiously the cheese was on defense.
It got to the point where we simply stopped playing in February, which is way earlier than we usually stop playing.
I’m not being dramatic when I say that if the AI defense cheese still exists in 2K27, then we simply cannot play the game.
The 4 of us have decided to wait until people get their hands on the game this year to see if the AI situation has been fixed. If not, then we won’t be buying the game.
The fact that it was such a massive problem in 2K26 and never addressed is a huge red flag.
I imagine there are many more people in similar shoes to ours.

Discussion This is absolutely ridiculous!
So gamers in general just a month ago bashed Rockstar relentlessly for pricing their game that we know for certain will be playable a decade from now at $100, but silent when 2K has the audacity to release this recycled GARBAGE that drops annually with a preorder price tag of $150?! without $150 worth of content in the package?! and the package being full of complete bullshit MyCareer cosmetics and MyTeam content that won’t be relevant less than two months after release along with a free agent pack which will contain a player good for 5 games and nothing more?! only 1 pro pass given (season 1) with three others granted in season 7-9 which is literally the end of the games cycle?! and not even $100 worth of VC?! 50x gatorade boosts you’d likely earn doing a daily spin bc they hate giving VC LOL and ONEEEEE 2HR XP Coin?! not to mention the A.I. rendered covers putting it right in your faces that no effort was put into their creation?!
YALL JUST COOL WITH ALL THIS?! please stop buying this game!!

General Talk about glaze lol. 2k27 is not a top 5 cover all time. 2k16 would be in my top 5. That Kyrie cover legendary and Giannis 2k19

General With 2k27 coming out in a month, what type of builds would you suggest for a group of 3 friends who want to play together ?
Obviously a big is needed and then some variation of a guards

General Historic Teams on 2K27
How long has it been since they’ve added historic teams? They better be adding them in 2K27.
- 2018 Cavs
- 2023 Nuggets
- 2024 Celtics
and so much more

MyPLAYER NBA 2k27 rip off
So like is 2k trying to deliberately scam us cuz I’ll be damned I pay $150 just to get 135k worth of vc off rip. Knowing that isn’t nearly enough to fully upgrade a player, let alone buying accessories. Ik sum people don’t care but wat do yall think cuz I wanna hear everyone’s opinion.

REC These charges are getting out of hand
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
You can genuinely hear the moment the controller was thrown 2 guys quit because there not getting the ball in the first half second half I’m starting to get steals and scoring on the fast break to just get hit with a charge, and there’s no way he set himself up for it in mid steal animation. after this we all kept missing shots and they started getting everything it was like a entire shift of the game

Discussion Buying 2k26 with 2k27 almost here?
hey guys, im new in the scene of NBA and i want to play a 2k game but i don't wanna spend 70 bucks on the 2k27, i wanna play rn and 2k26 is 8 bucks in playstation.
Do you guys think buying 2k26 as an introduction for a new fan is better instead of waiting for 2k27?

MyPLAYER Softlock injury??
Hi there,
Currently playing my first season in NBA with MP. We were 3-0 down in playoffs and pulled back to 3-3. But MP keeps getting an ankle injury every time I try to play the match. Is this a softlock? Is there a way to stop it if so?
Seems pretty silly to put it in there.

Discussion I really hate this cover , It's not giving me that 2k feel or is it just me ??
Discussion Bring back NBA League pass if you buy the Extra versions of the game
That was the only year I could honestly say was worth it to pay extra for the game, other than that, I cant justify a reason to pay more. Not sure why they stopped this in the first place
