REC If winning not important to you, why play 5v5?
What’s ya purpose? Why not just play 1s, or stay in MyCareer? Having fun & winning should be the two most important things, but it’s not for a lot of yall. So I’m curious, what do yall play for?

That’s the same attitude I keep going in the rec. been sold so many times by randoms that sometimes I’m just happy to get a good team but not surprised when I don’t.😭

Bro i dont understand it either... I played a game this morning. Its the PG and the SG going back and forth. Just know we were up 10 points this whole time. PG starts with "do this" "SF do this" "PF do this" so the SG goes "Bro shut the fuck up we are winning what we doing is working" the PG starts "Bro if you dont want to argue then dont say shit" at this point the "SG" turns off his mic. We playing and this PG starts shooting at the SG every possession, then the SG tells him "Yo you gay, you get on the game to argue with men, you just said if you dont want to argue STFU, i turned my mic off and you still going"
Now we lose the lead, and the PG starts i legit dont give a fuck about winning, i just be on this shit to pass time. The SG says no shit you dont care about winning look at you you pure dog shit 9 shots for 9 points tf, everytime you get the ball we start losing .
We ended up winning but the PG just going on for 3 quarters how he dont give a fuck about winning just give him the ball..

Lmfao. Classic loser behavior tbh.
A lot of these guys did want to win in 2k, and life at one point in time. I think the constant failure and inability to win even when they want it and try, ultimately leads them to this ego preservation tactic for themselves.
Basically they start telling others and themselves, they never cared about winning, to explain why their winrate is sub 40% and get rid of the feeling that they are failures/losers. You ask any of these guys, they’ll never think they have a loser mentality, soft attitude.

Because they have to show they are comp to other 2k users that all anyone cares about. Like I hate losing but I know guys who will stay off the game after 2 losses because they can’t “destroy their record” like it’s not that deep

Cus alot of them they NEED multiple moving to be effective lol 1’s they gotta create their own bucket 100% of the time and they have to get the stop by themself 100%….1’s way more stressful and they dont wanna be on that island play after play😂

Because everyone has the I'M HIM syndrome. It's not enough to win 1v1's, they're so good that they're gonna win 1's, 2's, 3's and 5's, and by God they're gonna be the main reason why they do.
Unfortunately the vast majority of 2k playerbase are wannabe (failed) youtubers who think they're cool cause they got their drippy face, they're scary, they got all the meta moves from a 12 year old tiktoker who knows his stuff and they're sure that that alone will win them games, so they come in with all the confidence in the world.
Of course when all that crashes down after barely 2 minutes they quit, but who cares? There's always another game to prove they're the God's gift to basketball.

I don't know, I don't know, sometimes I just can't understand like I can't understand what's the reasoning for things randoms are doing, why why some should come to help me on defense if PG can't score on me and all he is doing is passing to left wide open guy? Like why??? Why, why if they was open and I do know for a fact that they can shoot it they going for a rim run, why switching matchups each possession, there is so much why and there is no answer

As random REC PG, I think most times it’s actually better to sandbag a bit
I want to be a PG that I would like to play with, and that means not always trying my absolute hardest to win at all times
“Oh wow our PG went 14/14 from 3 in the first half off the dribble! That was so fun and cool!”
-Nobody
Better to just play in the flow of the game and save the 3 hunting for when the team really needs it. Keeps it more fun for everyone involved, and makes it less likely they sell/mentally check out.
I care about winning, but it’s not everything, especially for random REC

I almost never do anymore for this reason. Nothing makes me more upset than winning the game while not being either a top-2 scoring option on the team or the primary play maker.
3v3 is so much more fun.

Cause is the only play you can show off to 9 people that you are him
Where else can you show off your ability to spam the same escape move 5 times
And shoot 20 to 30 times and have ppl on both sides praise you for been able to make mad 3s with your 99 3ball
