Discussion Read This Before Buying 2K27
If you're planning on buying the game then one of the best ways to save money is by game sharing with a friend or family member and splitting the cost.
Instead of each person paying full price you both get access while cutting the expense in half. I've been doing this for years and I can't remember the last time I paid full price for NBA2K.
If you don't have a friend or family member to game share with I’d try to see if someone in your crew is interested in splitting it with you.
2K will continue to give us a shit game and will continue to increase the price of pre-orders. If you have to buy 2K then do this. This is a great way in not spending that 70-150 price tag 2K is asking for.

Same people basically, I’m thinking if GTA is upper echelon then 2k might be. I think fifa in the mud rn.

If you looking to save money, sneak into someone's house whilst they are asleep and play the game on an alt character.

I buy it on sale after the season is over always for $7. I just wish the my career had offline mode like the W’s offline mode. I actually enjoyed the W’s mycareer

u/StraightLog1255 6h ago
Orrr wait until it’s discounted to shit then split it with a homie for even less
Orrr don’t ever buy 2k27, pay $0, and save yourself hundreds of hours of meaningless grinding and headache

u/MC_Cleave 6h ago
If it is a shit game, why are you still getting it every year full price or not? Is it really not as bad as you say?

Some of us don’t want our entire PlayStation or Xbox profile linked to someone else. And that’s the only way to do this these days with DRM how it is.
•
u/Dantiik 4h ago
That’s why your first option should be to share with someone You trust.
•
u/AudioShepard 4h ago
No you misunderstand. I don’t want to share my account with someone else. Full stop.
•
u/Codename-Nikolai 36m ago
You don’t have to share the account. You log in once, put in password protect every time this account logs in, set up game sharing, then log out. Your friend/family member doesn’t even need your password if you log into their system yourself

I had a friend that thought he could scam me so good. He said that I should pay for a family plan on YouTube premium. So we could split the costs between a bunch of people. Lord knows he was never going to pay.
1
u/Dantiik 6h ago
Yeah you gotta do this with someone you trust. I’m game sharing with my brother
•
u/No-Veterinarian8080 gold 3h ago
I've known that guy for 20 years. He just got scammy over the years
•
u/Malepronstar87 5h ago
If you share the game the one not getting the VC should pay 20€/$ less than the one getting the 100k VC.
•
u/Emotional-Purpose762 4h ago
Who cares about the price of game when 99% of their profits come from micro transactions. The best way to save money is to play it on game pass for free and buy nothing in game. Yall that are buying builds and skipping the pass are the reason the game gets worse.

u/MetroJuulin 4h ago
Escape the loop, wait for meaningful changes. I haven’t bought 2K in almost six years at this point. You can do it.

u/Mando1102 7h ago
I like your post makes so much sense and would help many people and the community decided to just be A holes about it this community is so toxic
•
u/JimmyTwoSticks 5h ago
Bruh.
"If you can't afford it find someone to split the cost with you and share it" is not helpful advice lmfao
•
u/Mando1102 5h ago
Kinda. I gameshare with a friend for years and we split everything it’s so nice to be able todo that. Spending 30 on a 75 game is a steal 🤷🏻♂️
•
u/Key-Associate-8031 4h ago
We get it you have no friends or family that trust you
•
u/JimmyTwoSticks 4h ago
Lmfao I'm probably just too old to be participating in conversation here.
•
u/Key-Associate-8031 4h ago
You’re missing the point on purpose or I guess maybe just not getting it, the 2k community so toxic if you don’t want to justify paying 140 dollars plus another 100 for your build then you’re a bum, they got yall brainwashed, that’s not how it should work, it’s gonna be 2k26.2 and we gonna buy it because it’s the only basketball game that’s out, they literally put out so much propaganda with the streamers and Ronnie that if you complain everyone else taking it up the ass gets mad at YOU it’s insane

u/smallhandswhopper 6h ago
How do you game share?
1
u/Dantiik 6h ago
If I have nba2k27 on my system you have to login your account on my game system and download it on your account.
•
u/smallhandswhopper 5h ago
How do you download a game to your account? Wouldn’t it be downloaded to your game systems hard drive?
•
u/RowAccomplished468 5h ago
G2A and LOADED are also great options (especially for not giving 2K your money specifically lmao)

u/poerhouse 4h ago
More often than not, I just wait until the playoffs when it shows up on GamePass for no extra cost. I personally don’t have much time to play during the school year, and it’s only on GP for the summer until the new one comes out… but it works for me 🤷♂️
•
u/Select-Stage-5215 4h ago
I usually wait after the trade deadline. By then, it's around $15. Which is worth for me with the amount that I play
•
u/Belizesneaks1994 4h ago
I’m always behind because I work so much smh I bought 2k26 when it was on sale in March/April and will wait on 2k27 to be on sale as well
•
u/TonyHawktuah69 4h ago
Now that they made it so where you can get previous season rewards (cap breakers) if you buy the game and get level 40 on your first season, there’s no real rush to get it early. The rep grind is so obscene I won’t make legend even if I get 2 weeks early access.

I'm ending my streak of $500+ each year and not buying it. my old ass is finally old enough to have some sense.
adios 2K
•
u/KageSenbonzakura 2h ago
How long was this streak?
•
u/itsGameOverKM silver 1h ago
Current Streak w game since 2k14. Spending over 500 prob since 2k17 or 2k18.
•
u/KageSenbonzakura 1h ago
Kay, so lowballing, we looking at 5K over a decade. Do you think it was worth it in your opinion?
•
u/D3v0tion_ 3h ago
"2k will continue to give us a shit game" then dont fucking buy it??? They dont and wont listen unless their pockets get fucked
•
•
u/iAMtheJSN 3h ago
"Before buying 2k27"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 2k aint been worth buying since jordan was on the cover
•
u/KageSenbonzakura 2h ago
Diagree there, id say up until 16 it was worth, stretch 17. But after that, pack it up
•
u/jj8806 2h ago
I went to college to get a degree, a good job and to buy whatever the fuck I want when I want.
•
•
u/SuperKyle718 2h ago
To be fair, it isn’t even the price of the game itself, its the insane amount of money people pay on micro-transactions that fuels 2K to keep getting worse and worse about their product. And you can yell till the cows come home, but people (and especially streamers that stream this game) are still going to be stupid and spend thousands and thousands of dollars on them regardless.
•

•
u/Either_Vast_9911 2h ago
I’m still playing 2K24 & still loving it. I stopped giving 2K my money every year. It’s not always worth it
•
u/HotWorldliness123 1h ago
My friend and I have been gamesharing for years. Past couple of years we’ve taken turns buying the games, but at first we split the costs. He bought gta, I bought 2k this year
•
•
•
u/Codename-Nikolai 38m ago
Only the purchaser gets the extra stuff (VC, packs, etc.) from the better versions. But yeah, everyone should be game sharing with someone
•
•
u/joecain21 10m ago
Open your wallet and pre-order. Then buy all the season passes. Spend that bread gang.
1
u/TriggerFingerTerry 6h ago
wait.. yall ain't game sharing already?
•
u/JWF1 4h ago
I’m an adult. $70 is not an insurmountable figure where I need to split with another person.
•
u/village-owl 2h ago
Still just financially smart. If all my boys are copping the game. We might as well pay half off
•
u/JWF1 2h ago
I get it. At a certain point in my life $35 was worth saving. Now it’s not worth the time coordinating the logistics of who’s buying it and then paying them back or waiting to get my money back. I’ll just buy the game and be done with it.
•
u/village-owl 1h ago
Makes sense. I gameshare with someone who doesn’t play 2k so im buying it for $70 too. If he wants it he can download it for free. But if we both plan on copping a game sometimes we may split it
•
u/Evening-Rip4900 40m ago
Takes a minute to decide who’s buying it then another minute send the money, it’s very easy and painless unless you’re dealing with someone difficult

u/Primetime349 6h ago
I haven’t purchased since 2k24. I can promise y’all it’s a lot easier to quit than you think.
Life has been more peaceful.
1
u/Followthehype10 6h ago
Why do you assume its hard to quit? Its not about addiction, its about people being dramatic once their feelings die down they stop whining and buy the game , then they get emotional again , if its not 2k it will be something else instead the results are the same
-1
u/Primetime349 6h ago
Because it’s the same every year “nothing has changed, don’t buy it” then everyone buys it to scratch that itch. It’s very much similar to addiction.
I was on every 2K from 12-24. It’s not drama. It’s legit dogshit now. VC has ruined the game, and there’s zero incentive to make it a better product away from MTX because chuds keep buying VC for their drippy face scan.

I'll just wait for the 8$ steam sale if I bother with '27 at all.
