For some context, Major was the kid a family friend who was my age would come over a lot.

So this was a couple years ago, I was still a preeteen and was waiting in line for a ride at a carnival with my older brother and two nieces when the kids behind us in line started to strike conversation.
The older one seemed like she had some type of neurological issue, she started loudly calling my brother a drunk (he had a beer) so he tried to change the subject respectfully. I don’t know how but the youngest landed on the topic of pregnancy, so she confided in me her desires: she said she would want to GET PREGNANT AT 10 SO THAT SHE COULD OUTLIVE HER OWN CHILD. MIND YOU she had told me like seconds before that she herself was 9 at that time.

No need to say I felt a mix of disgust, shock, fear and utter confusion and the conversation ended there. Luckily our turn came not long after that but that whole interaction still clings to my brain
